- OrrO, on 01/30/2008, -1/+47Stor takk til NRK for en meget god teknologisk måte å spre naturglede på!
- andreasnottveit, on 01/30/2008, -0/+37Finally a TV channel that gets it!
- michelsonmorley, on 01/30/2008, -2/+19Big thanks to NRK for a very good technological method to share nature happiness with!
- rockphotog, on 01/30/2008, -0/+17This is the way to go!
- magnusbe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+17No. NRK is funded like the BBC. No ads.
- MrKobie, on 01/30/2008, -1/+14Hopefully people will support their efforts by creating subtitles for other languages.
- Affiniti, on 01/30/2008, -0/+13It does not have commercials. (NRK never has)
And yeah.. this is pretty awesome! Hope they release other show in this way too. - HalFTW, on 01/30/2008, -1/+13"the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation are promoting the free and open source Miro player as the most user friendly and easy way to get hold of the television series."
Note to BBC: This is how it should be done (plus the torrents for higher quality versions ofc). - eirikso, on 01/30/2008, -0/+11Yes. The show is in Norwegian.
- DrEspenA, on 01/30/2008, -0/+11Good stuff!
- eirikso, on 01/30/2008, -0/+11It's no DRM, no commercials and no country limitations. Even if the show has enough beautiful scenery to be viewed by anyone, you'll get most of it if you speak Norwegain.
Watch it, and think about the fact that it was filmed entirely by one person. - xirtap, on 01/30/2008, -0/+11I'm going to seed this. I'm not a fan of the show, but I'm a fan of the movement.
- andersw, on 01/30/2008, -1/+11The 2000 NOK = 365 USD annual national broadcasting fee is good for something.
- MrMinit, on 01/30/2008, -0/+8Brilliant!
- billflu, on 01/30/2008, -0/+8The show is in Norwegian, not English, right?
- magnusbe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+8On boingboing: http://www.boingboing.net/2008/01/29/norwegian-bro ... (Mostly just reprinting the stuff in OP's link)
- Affiniti, on 01/30/2008, -0/+7It does not have commercials, NRK never has. And yeah.. this is pretty awesome, i hope they release other show in the same way.
- Alfadir, on 01/30/2008, -0/+7Go Norway:)
- RuthlessPirate, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6Is that available to the US too? That show looks ***** awesome!
- ElRaval, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6Excellente! Go Norge!
- Poffeloff, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6It's actually a very nice channel. And it actually has NO commercials ^ ^
- SimonGray, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6Jeg ville ønske DR kunne tage sig sammen og gøre det samme med de danske programmer :-/
Nå, tillykke med jeres overlegne tv-station, Norge :P - inactive, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6Finally the broadcasting industry is walking hand-in-hand with the consumer! All other broadcasters, please watch and learn!
- kentifer, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5Does it have commercials?
- kris33, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5The show itself is actually very interesting too and can actually be enjoyed by people who dosen't understand Norwegian.
- mbjerve, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5Keep up the good work!
- magnusbe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5The torrent links aren't included in the English-language version of the article. Check the Norwegian version:

There are no English subtitles. - magnusbe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5It's mostly one man alone in nature - not much dialogue. And yes, as a swede you should be able to understand him.
- Pfkninenines, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5This is definitely a way of the future, or at least of a company that doesn't want to pay gargantuan hosting fees for HD Videos. Let the loyal viewers support their programs by seeding. It's a pretty good way to "pay" for something that's free.
- SimonGray, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5Why should it matter? You still get the same amount of TV, no matter whether the rest of the world gets it too or not. The rest of the world is not going to watch shows in Norwegian anyway.
- Affiniti, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5Everybody can download, but there isn't any subtitles..
- magnusbe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5It was in kroner. I did the calculations for you.
- Rotzooi, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4http://nrkbeta.no/torrent/monsen/Nordkalotten_365_ ...
http://nrkbeta.no/torrent/monsen/Nordkalotten365.E ... - EnSvensk, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4I can only speak Swedish, but I've heard that Norwegian and Swedish are somewhat similar. Anyone know how much of this show I might be able to understand?
- jonesin, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4Certainly somebody here must be part of the fansubbing community. Can somebody please fansub it?
- magnusbe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4He made about $130000 in 2006.
- Nefilim, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4Awesome, although I've seen every episode twice I'm going to download it when I get home. Oh, and Lars Monsen already made millions on his books and stuff so don't worry about him.
- hnilsen, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4Lars Monsen initially made a trip across Canada, it look him nearly three years. That journey was incredible, and it's truly amazing how someone can pull that off. It took him eight years to plan, and he recorded everything. You can contact him at lars@larsmonsen.no to see if he has this on DVD with english subs.
- manicallday, on 01/30/2008, -1/+4I vote for Lazy Town. I love the Pirate Song.
- Roger, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3Subs anyone?
I really wanna see this show, I'm hoping its similar to Survivorman. - inactive, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3Quick! Blame the comment system!
- DanielSJ, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3No commercials on this. This is state subsidies through license fees (the sane way to get quality TV spread to everyone).
- manicallday, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3My bad. Lazy Town is produced in Iceland. But, I'm interested in watching the Norwegian equivalent.
- iacob, on 01/30/2008, -1/+4From a la carte menu to buffet... For the times they are a-changin'.
:D - Fedorian, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3I wish I could digg this twice
- RuthlessPirate, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3Dude even better.
- centx, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3Makes me all fuzzy and warm inside to be a Norwegian now, for once we do something that is so obviously right that noone can badmouth it with logical reason!
Go free!
Ja, det her e tingen, tror eg alle kan være enig om =) - blenden, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3this is the norwegian chuck norris
- magnusbe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+2Well, if enough of you download this and tell your local broadcasters, they might pick up the show and funnel some cash into the NRK.
In any case, I'm happy to share. - Sapulator, on 01/30/2008, -0/+2only one more reason for me to move to my homeland.
(seriously, if ron paul doesnt win, im packing my bags.) -
