- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6That's nice and all, but it's pretty much all show. What would be actually *handy* is wifi in the subways.
- joerod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3nyc keeps getting better :-)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2great, even more human beings glued to their little electronic devices and avoiding contact with their fellow man.

- Markie1006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is B.S.
Acording to the version of the story I read yesterday, unless you're a signed up Nokia customer, you can only access a very limited set of pages, to do with tourist attractions in the area.
To call it 'Free' is a little inaccurate. - MattL920, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Does anyone know when wifi will actually be active in central park? It said this summer, but, well, it's already July.
- joerod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I do!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wifi in the Subway would be the best idea I could think of for wifi.
Captive audience. bored out of their minds.
In toronto they have certain buses that have WIFI and COST MORE TO RIDE, but people pay for the extra convinience.
VERY good idea, and with little $100-$200 pda's (and certain cell phones) you wouldn't have to worry about everyone looking at you funny with your 19" Laptop while you ride. ;-) - Overlord, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And on top of that, it's not full area coverage, it's only 18 locations among 10 parks. Eight of them are in central park alone. There is definitely not enough to cover them that well.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Summer. But summer in the southern hemisphere.
Think 2008. That's when EVERYTHING will be better! - joerod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i agree it is limited but its a good start. hopefully other companies will pick up on this. I'll let me kids run around in the park for days while i check my email and browse the web
- lorensingley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Dude... this is NYC. Sometimes your fellow man will stab you randomly.
