No Porn On Sony HD-DVD Blu-ray?

sgknox.com — Has Sony gone mad? Prominent adult movie producer Digital Playground (site) says it is forced to use HD DVD instead of Blu-ray, because Sony does not allow XXX-rated movies to be released on Blu-ray.

      Only a handful of replicators can produce BD-Roms, and they are the big boys that have "no porn replication on site" contracts with the movie studios (remember the Disney incident).

    Although the majority of us get our porn from the internet, the average Joe User still rents/buys porn from a brick and mortar shop, and if they want it in high def and HD-DVD is the only way to go, that's a major blow for Sony.

    Sony should focus more on making bad movies before they limit adult content for their proprietary formats.

There are only some things that should be that clear and in such high resolution.... and watching Taylor Rain get double-stuffed doesn't rank high on that list. Besides, the price point at which adult DVDs are currently distributed is ideal. Spending $30 on a high definition porn disc is useless. Of course they could keep the resolution as is and just put 40 hours of porn on these discs, I suppose. However, I just don't see the need.

It's obvious that porn will be released on both formats. You don't seriously think they'd only go for one or the other? It's like game developers making games cross-platform. It makes them a lot more money in the end because more people can get their hands on it.
