- ram0135, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Hey All,
I speak spanish and this is what it says::
"This is a special set that Nintendo did at E3 2005 for Zelda, it's a bang! What is very incredible about the video is the interaction that the set has with the people. It is very much worthwhile, which is why i saved it."
A bit more understandable than the babel fish translation.
pretty neat nonetheless. - lo0ol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Pretty cool, but whether or not the Revolution will be like that remains to be seen. I would side towards "probably not". I like how Nintendo keeps trying newish things though.
- meson2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah. The guys at reactrix did this like 3 years ago http://www.reactrix.com/index.php
- wjadams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That's cool, but it's been done before...sort of.
At the Metreon in San Francisco, they have an interactive wall that uses the same technology. - Mephistopheles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sorry, I'm new -- http://www.hyrule.net/?get=newsview&date=667&lan=en
- Stelmate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4lotusleaf: of course it runs on linux! the guy didn't get a BSOD when he stepped on it and it didn't run on quarters.
- BurntToast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There's actually other places that use that same type of technology, and I don't think it's a Nintendo made thing.
I know that the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel has this type of flooring at the Crystal Lotus restaurant.
But yah, that was very cool seeing that at E3... other stuff that they had in the Zelda rooms were an animated skeleton behind jail bars and a wolf figure... all puppeterred by people. Very cool.
No digg! - evildeadxsp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2doesn't anyone else live in New York? they have one of those interactive floor mats in every Sam Goody... i mean the video is a much more impressive version, better graphics....
but i mean i've played hockey on that sam goody one, beat that nintendo! ha - mattalways247, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They also have one of these at the Toys R Us in time square.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The reactrix ones (from the video on their website) seems be much more basic than this. Either was it's cool.
- pronouncable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1meh, i see these at sam goodies around here.
not as interactive, one was just a pool of water and the other was a lot of soccerballs. - kiraevo, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1But if the Nintendo Revolution possessed similar sensitivity for it's input devices, http://calvincrchurch.com it would be pretty sweet.
- Noky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I guess I'm the only one not impressed. How is improve motion sensitive projections revolutionary? Fun to play with for a few minutes. Hard to imagine practical home use.
- evanwalsh, on 05/04/2008, -0/+1Well here is the horrible description as translated by babelfish
"This he is a special Seth who Nintendo did in E3 2005 for Zelda, is a jail, the incredible thing of the video is the interaction that has the Seth with the people. It is worth the trouble, for that reason I keep it." - gol706, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep, the crappiest movie theater near me put one of these in, they should have spent their money on replacing missing ceiling tiles or fixing the rattling A/C instead though. But it is cool to play with for like a minute.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sooo... looks like it's projected and motion activated... COOL
- gamer31, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah there is one of these things in the star theater near me at great lakes.
- aznbond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They have one of these in Disneyland, at that science expo building near space mountain.
But if the Nintendo Revolution possessed similar sensitivity for it's input devices, it would be pretty sweet. - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Fish murders! :)
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1I want that...in my house...for my bathroom floor
- damntaxes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've seen this type of thing in movie theaters before. You just punt the balls around. This seems to be a bit more interactive but is perceptibly in the same realm.
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What are you talking about firemedic? The image does disappear under their shadows and you can also see it project onto the tops of peoples' shoes.
- GenericGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They have those things all over the shopping malls in my area. I think Reactrix is the name of the company who markets them.
- pyrodude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its not that big... they had this at the toys-r-us in NYC years ago.... but i have playec around with it and it is pretty fun.... it works by a projector above and off to the side with a sensor that senses when the image is blocked... not that hard to figure out... but it is sweet and would be awsome to see some games being played on this
- acevoncash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thats insane.
the revolution better be like that. - Bootes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A movie theater near me had one of these last time I was there. If any of you want to play around with it, it's at
City Center 15: Cinema De Lux
19 Mamaroneck Ave
Mamaroneck Ave and Main St.
White Plains, NY 10601
(914) 747-6000
near the elevators/mini restaurant thing. :) - Mongoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. That's pretty cool, but I don't see how it'd be useful for anything other than making video's which people say "wow" after seeing.
- suspectONE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3this is not even a nintendo technology...its reatrix.
old old old news.
see how it works
http://www.n-sider.com/articleview.php?articleid=468 - chicomdk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1maybe it will be an add on
- theprez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OK, commenters, we KNOW this has nothing to do with the Nintendo Revolution because NOWHERE in the video or news does it mention the revolution.
It's just something cool because of the technology. Digg. - johnnybravoh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Kickass, but the first interactive floor was in Saturday Night Fever. heh.
- Mephistopheles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is called "Nintendo Floor Vision". There's some more info here and you can Google for more info.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1don't you all remember segas thing *VERY KINDA* like this for the genesis? a gamepad you stood on
- joehobbes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this waqs submitted before claiming to be a Revolution demo -- just because somebody in the video mentioned the Revolution while taping
- tange1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They have a smaller version of one of those at my mall for the last 6 months at least. The one at my mall is smaller, but its fish and water. The little kids chase the fish all over and try to stomp on them.
- seandfeeney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they have had that for a while at Randolph movie theater in Mass. they have one that you stomp on popcorn seeds and pop the popcorn.
- LoganKriete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lyph3 - sorry, is the video too loud for you? Then how about you TURN YOUR SPEAKERS DOWN.
What more do you want from an EVENT filmed in a TRADESHOW where people are TALKING?!?! Geez. Technology is advanced, but not *that* advanced.

What Nintendo should do is build walls and a ceiling that do the same thing, then combine the all of the pieces with a wearable gyroscopic revolution controller, and then you've got real VR. Imagine it - you turn, the controller senses turning, and the walls, floor, and ceiling all react. Combine that system with that amBX system from Phillips and the 500,000+ polygon moustache, real-time lighting amazing graphics from the Metal Gear Solid video we saw about a month ago, and you've got a pretty sweet gaming setup. - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1We have one of these at the mall where I work, though not as high quality. Ours I think just has water that's effected when you step on it and some other things like a ball I think that you can knock around. I haven't really seen much of it since it's on the first floor and I never go down there. I did hear one customer actually complaining about it though because they put it just outside the elevator and it draws a crowd (especially kids) who get in the way.
- funkytaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0We have these in malls around Atlanta, but they usually have a soccer game for kids or a Coca-Cola ad that 'splashes'. I know there are some in Lennox and Northlake malls.
- firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've seen those in Toys R' Us...
but damn, this is even hotter! - redkat85, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is nothing new (aside from a graphics upgrade perhaps) my local mall has one running a hockey game.
- stasielynn320, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The movie theatre near us has something very similar, but it lets you play "soccer" and kick the ball around. no digg.
- MortenAaserud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh My God that's awesome
- Klowner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@dragonflight: It's more like a projector (or a few from different angles to battle people's shadows) pointed at the floor, along with a camera to detect people's movements.
- dragonflight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mine doesn't....then again I'm in the west suburbs of Chicago.
Is it like one big reinforced (for the fat geeks) touch-screen LCD? - chucklesmagoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sorry guys...but every big name theatre in Chicago has one or two of these in the lobby...they first rolled out with them a few years ago, now they're is a whole ton of different programs that they have for them, the best is a little race track where u can stand there and block cars or make them crash
- aznboi04k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this has nothing to do with the revolution, people. nothing really speial. i see this at malls all the time. interesting at first but gets old.
- Cambo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats cool... we have nothing like this in New Zealand
- Zodiak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what if you want to kill the spider?
- FlatLine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0one word...wow.
4 outta 5 hot karls
