- bizmowacka, on 10/10/2007, -1/+67woot! 100 million screens sold!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+39It prints money!
- rivalius13, on 10/10/2007, -3/+36Only because it's mandatory in Japan to have one. That law is working out great for them.
- Hazardc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29dude........what???
- SteveMax, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23The PSP is a great machine; the DS is a fantastic portable console. If you want a compact computer, go with the PSP (or the GP2x, if you can live with the hacking); if all you want are great games, go with the DS.
- vuke69, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2050,000,000 people disagree.
That must be a record, even for you. - rivalius13, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20I'll take the sheepskin over whatever the hell you're smoking.
- BinaryFragger, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19If enjoying Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros and Metroid Prime Hunters (and very soon, Zelda!) makes me a sheepsumer, so be it. I'm a sheepsumer that's having a lot of fun.
- stickyfingers, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19Y'know if you estimate that the earths population is somewhere around 6.7 billion, not taking into account people who own more than one DS, that would mean that 1 in every 134 people worldwide owns a DS... that's incredible.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18Only because the Japanese only buy from other Japanese manufacturers, therefor Sony is left out...oh wait
- dattaway, on 10/10/2007, -6/+22The DS also makes a great portable linux multimedia computer.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18This has to be sarcasm.
- notbob, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16Nintendo seems to think in the 'fun vs. power' battle fun will win.
They seem to be right, or at least taking it to the bank. - nicko68, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Buy the game.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15WTF are you babbling about?
- nicko68, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10They did it with the original GB, and they're also doing it with the Wii.
- chalkboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Is 35 bucks really to much to pay for a great game? It is people like you that will ruin the gaming industry and make us deal with all the anti piracy crap.
- Dan2552, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I have 2!
- Asianwaste, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9You can just... you know... abstain?
- animeguru, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Does Sony not count the PS2 original and the PS2 Slim in their 120+ million consoles sold?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Dude what is with the influx of caveman speak on digg. Shouldn't you guys be out making Geico commercials?
- kevinrmcguire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+950 million, and I don't have one. What am I waiting for???
- bilbravo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Not to take away from your list making skills, but I would say Brain Age 2 only. If someone doesn't have Brain Age 1 yet, getting it is not the best way to spent $20. It's different tasks still, but you really only need one. Buy Brain Age 2 and then if/when Brain Age 3 comes out, you will be ready for it.
I bought BA2 because I was getting tired of the old activities, it was nice for a change. But I can't imagine buying them both at the same time.
Just my $0.02 (USD) - bilbravo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The same goes for people who can't make a point without using the Caps Lock key.
- Flinty, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Huh?
- Thomar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Whaa? Go beat Metroid Prime III and try saying the Wii's not immersive!
- modifiedbears, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9DK Jungle Climber is awesome. Highly recommend it.
http://www.dkjungleclimber.com/ - MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Soooo, Nintendo is the new devil and Sony loves me? Someone asked what you were smoking. I'm guessing it's because they think it's some bad stuff. Seems to me if a state of unconsiousness is what you're looking for, you hit the motherlode.
- Thomar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yeah, but the 350+ people who dugg it don't.
- dafragsta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Metroid Prime: Hunters
Mario 3-vs-3
Kirby's Cursed Canvas
Phoenix Wright Ace Attourney - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6What?
- Jeffler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Alright, video game console or handheld. Better?
- petebot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I'm not sure if this comment abuse, but I'm wondering what games people would suggest for the DS. I just got mine a little while ago, and I've only got mariokart and puzzle quest, though I'm picking up Zelda PH at lunch. My fave games are RPG's and FPS's.
- AuburnTigers, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6wow, most pointless comment ever, listen to Asianwaste's advice
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6And they must own one of each color.
- alexkorova, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5VG Chartz doesn't.
- Asianwaste, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6PSP would be better only if they had more games out for it. I'll admit its design is sleek and its got some power in it. However for the time being the only use I have for it is that it's a great pocket emulator machine to ironically play all the old Super NES games.
- PawFox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Get a Flash Cart, EG: M3 Adapater, download DS-Linux
- zeejay, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5You should have kept your DS. It's a great way to pass the time while your PSP games load, or when your battery dies halfway through a flight.
- cadams, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Hotel Dusk
Brain Age 1 & 2
Castlevanyia (any and all you can get)
Harvest Moon (and the fantasy version)
Nanostray 1 & 2
Clubhouse games (when your waitinf for a bus or at a restaurant waiting to be seated or in line, whatever)
Zelda (should be good)
Those are my suggestions. Best of luck to you. :) - Thomar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Don't forget about back-compatibility. Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green are awesome remakes of the #1 RPG of all time.
Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls (FFI and FFII packed together) are nice if you're hardcore,
Metroid: Zero Mission is the closest you'll get to the SNES Metroid (which itself was basically a remake of the game Zero Mission is a remake of, but Nintendo does that all the time anyways, and it works). I know it's not a FPS or RPG, but it's still worth getting. - TheDreadDiggerD, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Good for you.
- fognozzle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The Wii is certainly more physically immersive. I, too, wish the Wii had more power, but honestly, it's not that big of a deal. The PS1/N64 generation was the first 3D generation and was plagued by crappy graphics... the PS2 generation gave us some gorgeous games, and I think the next step doesn't really add much anymore. But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind when I see some more in the future...
- JohnnyXmas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3They pushed it? Why did they push it? And was it on a pallet, or did some guy in the plant take it upon himself to shove the individual unit out the front door, like one high-tech Oliver Twist?
The article makes no mention of these very important questions! I call shenanigans! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3my little brother has gone like ~3
but luckily they were under warranty :-D - Blue_Eon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I dare say that mimicking real life movements to control what goes on in the game does a better job of immersing a player than aesthetics and AI tweaks ever could.
- cave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3World population is around 6.7 billion people. 50 million people would be 1 in 13,400. Still not too shabby considering it's a commodity item, and how many of those people can't even afford food.
- JBKMDX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3He's got you there. All companies do that. You don't think the top loading Nintendo wasn't counting as the same thing as the original front loading Nintendo when it sold? The same goes for the slim PSX's after they decided to get rid of the parallel ports in it due to saving money, and that most of the hacking utilities (gameshark, codebreaker, etc) required it to work.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8hahahah
- Jeffler, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Well, at this rate, it'll be the #1 selling machine ever by 2011. Fun.
