Ning powers new generation of networks: diabetics, among others, to benefit
tudiabetes.com — An article on the LA Times yesterday featured Marc Andreessen and his latest venture, Ning, which he co-founded along with Gina Bianchini. Ning is a web-based platform lets people create their own social networks and other Web applications. TuDiabetes.com is an example of a Ning-based site: it's a global community for people with diabetes.

- TheRealTerry, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm getting ready to help someone start up a social network site for another health issue, and I think Ning might be a good choice. Thanks for showing me a good example of Ning in use by a similar community!
- manuelhp42, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1At close to 90 thousand networks, the reach Ning is having is amazing. http://EsTuDiabetes.com is another community also powered by Ning (100% in Spanish). While smaller in membership (for now) than TuDiabetes.com, it has a huge potential due to the lack of any social networking sites for diabetics in Spanish.
