They need to use Canada Post or Purolator, UPS is a fricken rip-off and they're awfully slow in Canada! - rainbowjinjo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Confirmed Rumor'?
- phoomp, on 02/27/2008, -0/+2As "confirmed" goes, this one kinda sucks

"Newegg.com does not offer International/Canadian shipping options at this time."
http://www.newegg.com/Info/FAQAboutShopping.aspx?F ... - ENFOUR, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1I wonder how bad the customs brokerage fee will be.
- brucebeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1^ last few posts..
check out vibecomputers.com, no i'm not trying to advertise and i don't work for them, but i honestly think its currently the best canadian online retailer right now, their prices are cheapeset and have great shipping rates.
IF newegg.ca will have something what vibecomputers offers me, then they might gain a new repeat customer, otherwise, it will just be a 1-time deal with me. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ya, even if they have cheaper stuff, you're still going to end up paying brokerage/custom fees which will make it equal to or more expensive than something you could get at NCIX. Until the warehouses are built in Canada (if they do end up building them), shipping to Canada is kind of useless, unless you get a good deal on a refurb..
- mojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What a joke! UPS will bend you over and make you their b!tch. Unless Newegg is going to ship from within Canada or use USPS, they shouldn't even bother.
- mojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1LOL, seems like everyone is in agreement. Someone register canadiansagainstups.com :-)
- LNahid2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Unless Newegg is going to ship from within Canada or use USPS, they shouldn't even bother."
USPS to Canada is horrible. I bought something off of eBay and it took 10 business days to get here via USPS. And they have no tracking which was even worse. I was sure my package got lost or something.
And I agree. If we're going to be charged duty, it's pointless. - RWTechgage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd love to see NewEgg in Canada, but I'm definitely happy with NCIX.com thus far.
- macinbest, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1Vaporware! o_O
- Personne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here is the last new I got from newegg

ONCE YOU KNOW, YOU NEWEGG - mcfeely, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was at UPS once, to pick up a package, and a customer at the counter was mad because they were charged a $20 brokerage fee for a $10 item they bought off eBay from a seller in the U.S. The UPS rep told him that next time, if the seller won't ship USPS, then get them to ship overnight or express, and that will help them avoid the brokerage fee.
It may be more expensive for the shipping, but in some cases, it could end up being cheaper than paying for ground shipping + brokerage fees. Even if it costs the same, at least you get the package sooner. - Jo9100, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very funny...
- weezer1024, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't care what the store is, but if they use UPS there's no way I'll buy from them. USPS, FedEx, or any other carrier but not UPS. The "brokerage fees" they charge (that no other carrier seems to charge) is nuts. Unless the price is stupidly good, I'll never buy from a place that only ships UPS.
- Tal3n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I totally agree with above posts Newegg will probably get 1 time customers from Canada. Once people in canada get whatever item at the door and got to pay an arm and a leg to UPS. They will be sticking with Stores like ncix.com I am canadian as well, and several people I know loathe UPS. I won't buy an item on ebay that ships with UPS.
- jamsea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Rats I thought they were actually putting warehouses in Canada... oh well first I get to convert the money from USA to Canadian, then I get to pay through the nose for shipping...
- illu45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hm... Interesting idea, but I think that the customs fees for shipping will be insane, anyways. Hope I'm wrong on that one, but, yeah...
- TheGooseyOne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0newegg is really expanding...TV commercials and now this
- Wheemer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Almost anything you order from tigerdirect.ca is shipped from the US. So I think newegg will be able to work out the shipping situation properly.
I doubt we will have to pay duty fees. If a company has there own broker at the border then they will be fine. The high customs charges comes from using the UPS brokers, they charge 20 buck just to touch the box.
I've had stuff shipped using USPS and never even had any customs charges at all. - hoSSo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They'll probably do something similar to tigerdirect, where once you order something, they do not directly ship it to you. It gets shipped within one huge order with hundreds of other people's orders at once. This is how they get it passed the border so you don't pay custom duties. And then once it's in Canada, they ship the individual packages to their destinations.
- jono181, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very good news.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I bought a cell phone radiation detector once and it cost more to clear customs than it did for the device
- brucebeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Rats I thought they were actually putting warehouses in Canada... oh well first I get to convert the money from USA to Canadian, then I get to pay through the nose for shipping..."
Errr! that was exactly what i thought as well.
oh well, i still like vibecomputers, cheapest in canada so far. shipping is awesome too, cheap AND fast :) - yob1can, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes its about time we have some real competition against the big box stores up here. Welcome to Canada New Egg !!!
- zapada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Hm... Interesting idea, but I think that the customs fees for shipping will be insane, anyways. Hope I'm wrong on that one, but, yeah..."
Actually, I have ordered numerous times from TigerDirect.ca, which is based in Chicago, and shipping is only about $5 US if you buy some small things. - zapada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sweet diggity! The neweggs are coming! I have bombarded them with emails, and now they finally do it!
- speg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using Vibecomputers.com for my most of my purchases for a while now, havn't had any problems thus far.
- mindsinker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Agreed. Newegg rules and I'm glad for you all if its done correctly. And...UPS sux hard, they're way too freak'n slow and live in the US.
- Asystole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Next stop... Newegg europe. Although I fear that's nothing more than wishful thinking.
- SilverRocket, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll take USPS to Canada over UPS any day. Every time I used UPS, I had to pay a 'brokerage fee' at the time of delivery to get my goods.
- maad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hope this isn't just shipping to Canada but an actual "newegg.ca" type of deal where I am ordering from a Canadian company.. If it's the same old ***** and I have to worry about customs then forget it -- I will never order a single thing from these guys.
Fingers crossed.. - awilke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good if there's no customs fees or else i'll stay with ncix
- fenacv, on 10/06/2008, -0/+0hey, I found this site is listing newegg canada price. you guys could compre newegg with ncix and tigerdirect here.

UPS is the worst carrier ever.. They say they attempted to deliver the package when I wasn't home, but that's a blunt lie.. I was home all the time.
I could understand if this happened once, but it happened the majority of the time!
[/VENT] - dbrodbeck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0UPS will charge a customs brokerage fee of about 25 bucks (UISD).
Apple ships from Cali by FedEx and USPS/Canda Post, no problems in that case, so the use of UPS is just plain silly. - G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Newegg has distribution centers in California, New Jersey, and Tennesee and I'd bet money they'd get one in Canada.
- Rich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0UPS Sucks! If you are going to ship to Canada, at least pick a courier that wont rape you before giving you your package.
Also, whenever I get a package via UPS it always smells like cigarette smoke and BO! - halc5s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Prepare to bendover and get raped by UPS. USPS/Canada Post is the way to go. UPS/FedEx/DHL all rip you in brokerage fees.
Unless they get a distribution center in Canada, I'll stick with NCIX, TigerDirect and Futureshop. - rousehouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@halc5s - Couldn't say it better!
- madd_matt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0w00t newegg. =)
I'll buy something and see how it goes then - mayukawa, on 01/04/2009, -0/+0rumor that newegg may have a Canada warehouse in 09. the competition wl heat up n we all wl benefit fr it.

- ChrisTucker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0:O i cant wait!
- mailpup, on 08/27/2008, -0/+0I'm going to guess that since Newegg has a Canadian website (newegg.ca), it will ship from a Canadian warehouse and use Canadian shippers. I could be wrong but if they were going to ship across the border using UPS, why bother with Newegg.ca? Why not just use the existing Newegg website? Makes some sense, right?
Newegg already has a few different USA warehouses. - WackyT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've heard for quite a while now Canadians complaining that Newegg doesn't ship to Canada. Now they're planning to do just that. Now we're hearing complaining about the way they're going to ship. That'd be funny if the owner of Newegg just says "Screw it!" and cancels the plan. Then it'd just go back to Canadians complaining that Newegg doesn't ship to Canada.
