New Twitter Visualization Tools Coming: First Is Twitter Blocks
techcrunch.com — Twitter brought in Stamen Design to help with the project, the same team behind some of the Digg visualization tools launched last year. Twitter is launching a new area of the site on Friday called “Explore” where they’ll list some of the tools people can use to interact with Twitter off the site itself.

- martin308, on 10/30/2007, -4/+1So where are they? I checked the site and there doesn't seem to be anything there :(
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I really hope these gimmicky visualisation "tools" don't take off and spread much further. They're amusing for a few seconds but who can be arsed but the novelty wears off quickly and permanently in my opinion.
- TomCarden, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Soon!

- thorpus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2The guys at Stamen Design do great work!

Props to the folks at Stamen Design, this is gorgeous.- tempusrob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Gorgeous indeed, but what does it *do*? I guess since I don't use Twitter it won't make much sense to begin with, but help a guy out here...
- smurf22, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1Twitter is so last month, its all about pownce.
- Jakerius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Stamen Design does amazing work.
- kingkool68, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Twitter launches Blocks and I am confused -> http://www.russellheimlich.com/blog/twitter-launches-blocks-and-i-am-confused/
- mobilehavoc, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10I'll get dugg down I'm sure but....
I don't get the appeal of Twitter at all..who really gives a ***** what the hell you're doing at this moment??? When did our own lives get so boring we need to now know every mundane detail of other people's lives???- kingkool68, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7It's Friday night and we are commenting about a Digg story on Twitter. This is how boring our lives are.
- Anonymous3, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Wasn't the original point something like "know what your friends are up to"?
- ketha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I hate twitter but i don't really have any friends who would use it, or be able to.. perhaps for the 'tech' community. I can imagine it being a total fad though...
- ilkeryoldas, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1how did twitter get dugg? you guys should be on pownce.. this is blasphemy!
- bradpurchase, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2It's confusing and definitely not easy to grasp on the first view, but Blocks is just a new way to view recent statuses, and the people you follow's follower's status' as well (that sentence was surely a confusion in itself...).
It truly does let you explore Twitter - I've gone pretty deep in the timeline of statuses with it.
It's also very visually enhanced. Props to Stamen Design!- TomCarden, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That's a pretty good explanation. If you're a Twitter user, go take a look at your 'with others' page. Then imagine the 'with others' pages of the first ten users there, turned on their side and overlayed on top. So this is a visualisation of intersecting timelines.
Granted it's not the most succinct concept in the world but we're happy with where it ended up and we hope you enjoy playing with it. Disclaimer: I work at Stamen if that's not clear.

- wellyuk, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Buried for twitter being a completely useless website.
Browsing Digg on your phone just got easier with our enhancements to the
