- timjbart, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24I detect a pattern to Alex Albrecht digging. He basically uses digg as a marekting tool :)
- trevorb, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10I'm a totally rad fan, but that site is totally mediocre.
- nottanner, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12Sad but true.
I've been frustrated with Alex's lack of involvement in not only digg but the trs forums for quite some time now. It's merely a paycheck for him which is sad.
If only we could all be like Jeff, he's really active on the forums and really seems to care about the show. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8And don't forget -- it's on "Wednesday's!"
- Jolene, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Heads up to everyone joining the chat!
Please change your nickname when you pop in with the /nick command. Just type /nick [newname]
Don't worry. We are working on replacing the Java app. Its just a temp set up for people who don't have dedicated IRC clients. For those that do and want to use those instead. irc.dalnet.com #totallyradshow - dolphumous, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I digg it.
- Mikekuul, on 11/11/2007, -1/+6I'm digging this because I like the fact that TRS now has a site. That said, I think the design sucks, and I'll explain why in a second.
First, the hell is wrong with you Digg? The launch of the TRS site is not spam, and it's no more shameless promotion than if the latest big Web 2.0 application opens their doors to the public. So what if the user just joined today? It was bound that older users would have picked it up and posted pretty much the same thing. It doesn't matter if you like or dislike the show, they launched a site, someone thought that the Digg (Which has certain links to Revision 3, producers of TRS) community might like to know, and here it is. Like the show/site? Digg it up and share it. Everyone else, are you really going to bury something, that you would otherwise digg up ("hey guys i hear myfriendo launched").
As for the site, I don't like it. I am a fan of the show, watch it every week, but this just doesn't reflect or enhance the show at all. Content is muddled (Such as the guide to background submissions appearing in the downloads page), the layout itself is dodgy (certain pages move the whole site more to the left) and the colours are not well chosen. The announcements page actually feels like there is a giant text ad pushing in from the right, with very little main content, it's not that apparent that the news items have any relationship to the box. The downloads page pretty much clones the Rev3 page, and since you make the same amount of clicks to go from homepage, to episodes, to a single episode download, there isn't much reason to go there as opposed to the rev3 site. Aesthetically, as I said the colours aren't too pleasing and the various graphical elements used in the page aren't that interesting.
I don't know, guys. Props for trying to expand beyond just the show by creating this hub, but it just doesn't do anything positive.
But hey, this is my opinion, feel point out flaws in what I see. - DarkShroud, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Yes it's pretty good. At this point in time I enjoy it more than Diggnation.
- IanRReardon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Digg is about free expression not your fascist moves [buried]
- moonaust, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I can't stop playing puzzle quest on my ds long enough to check it out....damn you TRS
- RxDaniel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3So we shouldn't submit or digg any site that has any ads on it cause they are just advertising to make money right?
- craterburnsu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Alex doesn't work for Digg, so who cares? And if he doesn't chose to get into the forums all the time, big deal, You're watching an hour long show about him on TRS, a 25 minute show with 20 more minutes of advertising on Diggnation. Enjoy it or don't, It's free.
- hadiz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Total cross-promotion!
- crimsoncs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Ouch.. The layout is.. um.. not rad? My mom can do better than that. Seriously.
- johnny222, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Wednesdays.
- Brokenmonkey, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2its a Futurama quote, ofcourse alex would know it
- Crash1337, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Very Nice
- johnn11238, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Buried for overuse of exclaimation points
- Nearoschyth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Hate the design. It's just a generic "paste logo, paste pictures" design. This Jeff Virgen guy couldn't even use a different width than his own site.
And those faux-3D section logos are DA BOMB! No one else has done that. - HUKI365, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I don't care. I don't need Alex to validate the use of my time. I just enjoy him presenting two of my favorite "TV" shows, let alone podcasts! Who cares if he doesn't "digg" a lot?
- yensed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Java? Yuck... The rest of the site rocks though.
- NextGenXbox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Awesome.
- vector66, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2LOVE the show!!!!
- rayjay2380, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1all I need to Say is TRS is Being Rad.
- nuxx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hey guys.....
I'm the founder of the chatroom on the site...For those of you who don't want to use the java client, you can always check out the channel via an IRC client, we're on DALNet. room name is of course, #totallyradshow.
Look for me on there, my screenname is TuxOtaku, I'm usually around. Alex, Jeff and Dan also DO ACTUALLY stop in and shoot the ***** from time to time. - h4mx0r, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Radical!
- timjbart, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5What's marketing? I said marekting
- PantherX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2not to mention EXTREMELY RAD! Perhaps bodacious too, but it's too early to tell.
- rayskin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wow Alex dugg your comment. Guess he reads this stuff. /Giggle
- Magunwarrior, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1We can really not stress this enough, change your nicks for great justice.
-Magun - damentz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Hey, do you guys really like this podcast? I'm looking for more things to aggregate.
- spidoman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The fact of the matter is he's more of an actor then Kevin on Diggnation or Dan and Jeff on TRS. But he's good at what he does so I'm fine.
- michaelb1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I always seem to disagree with Alex's opinions on diggnation, and his logic seems flawed in many of his disagreements w/ Rose. Hence I don't feel a need to watch TRS. The voltron reference was kinda funny though in that episode on their site.
- BerenTW, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i know what is causing it... but that easily be fixed. Symmetry > *
its just lazy web design. - MrWally, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That is totally rad.
- guyincognitoo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1RAD was a great movie, oh.. wait, thats what the site's about?
- JohnTheJohnMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1it would seem he only diggs things about himself or his involvement. for being a co-host of a show about digg, you would think he might actually take part in the site itself and show a little support. not sure what's up with that.
- michaelb1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1and he says "as it were" a little to often.
- crashlock, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1The site doesn't reflect the radness of the show at all.
It borders on tacky dare I say.
Also I do believe it breaks rule number 4 from this:
http://digg.com/tech_news/9_Signs_You_Shouldn_t_Hi ... - theWaterboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dugg for using 'Rad' twice in the title!
- ZenBane, on 02/28/2009, -0/+0I'm glad I'm not the only person that noticed this.
- timjbart, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I was making a joke about my typo....jeez. Digg is full of pedants
- michaelb1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1yes
- editor182, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Interesting how Alex's own co-host on the Digg.com inspired podcast doesn't digg anything related to Alex. Maybe Alex should start digging something other than his self-serving ***** to be considered a legitmate host of Diggnation.
- Bertronix3000, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0anybody else think that dan is the least cool host?......anybody?......is not just me is it?
