- v0yeur, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23now if it were Propelr, then it might have a chance
- redstatepride, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16At least Netscape had the forethought to include a pictures section.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17maybe it will "cut" digg short
or put a new "spin" on things
or even "fan" out the competitors (yes those 3 were supposed to be clever) - JasonQG, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Propel down
- Makaveli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13haha........ props
(Yes that also was supposed to be clever)
Proppelled up! - iFungus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Just like the last one...
- doggybum, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Nice name, im just not sure it was a good choice to move everything over. All that time and effort was spent in 'propelling' the Netscape brand, now AOL is going to have to spend more time and effort pumping out the Propeller brand.
- KevenM, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Propeller? I hardly touched her!
- Fungo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Let me guess, instead of giving articles "diggs," you give them "props"?
- whatthefu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4What if it turned out to be like a conservative version of digg? How ***** crazy would that be?
- asauterChicago, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's called Lean Development. You put out a simple version of a product without pumping tons of money into marketing and development. If your customer response is good, you put more into development. In this case, if Netscape's digg clone was a complete failure, they could of backed it out quickly with minimal loss. They couldn't of done the same thing if they pumped 50 million dollars into a separate website out of the starting gates.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2AOL is no stranger to wasting money.
- thespanielator, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yeah, we had a place in the uk called windscale.....it's much better now it's called Sellafield
- ignorantcow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I thought it was because all domains with proper (spelling of) words are taken.
- kingp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1lol...digg 'em up!
- TheAttacks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Umm. . . . Digg. d I g g. Something tells me that's a vowel, that pesky letter "I".
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1...also called email.
- AmazingAndrex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Or a neutral version of digg. That's blow both out of the water IMO.
- thefinger, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I hope they keep changing names, til nobody knows who the hell they are. Brand awareness matters. This name is just stupid anyway. What are members going to be called then, propeller heads?
- controltheweb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No one is going to point out that it's a "spin" off?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hmmm... Propel it just doesn't have the same feeling as digg it...
- VBShadow, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2You mean Digg is liberal? I hadn't noticed...
- apolloae, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Uh? Apparently something broke.
- HUKI365, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Your's was the funniest, too bad the set up joke was a bit of a downer.
- MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4I bet its going to be the next Digg killer too.
- TubbyCat, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3HIP! YA!
- theworldisround, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I think they meant "prpllr".
- p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1propeddalers of digg clones
- AdHaR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0You mean propel them up right?
- BrokenLaptop, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1They are going to spin that PROPELLER right in to bankruptcy.
- LyKwId, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Netscape isn't with the times. They haven't figured out that any successful Web 2.0 has to drop any vowels? It might have had a chance if it was Propelr... or something along those lines, but alas Netscape has dropped the ball yet again.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Pointless
- hardcrocodile, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Amazing.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+0AOL FTL!
- apb1991, on 10/10/2007, -10/+0Maybe this will out do digg?
