- kickingback77, on 06/25/2008, -2/+78This reminds me of the freaky YouTube video where 2 guys see their own backs after walking into their apartment on Google Maps in real time and freak out.

- naterpoke, on 06/25/2008, -2/+21i love how they take a perfectly viable idea like google maps and try to implement the same concept on a needless scale
- chicoer2001, on 06/25/2008, -3/+19I'll stick with Google Earth. I dont care what the inside of a building looks like
- scaliacheese, on 06/25/2008, -0/+16Call me when they start doing this *live*. In Jessica Alba's house.
- zyl0x, on 06/25/2008, -2/+13Exactly what purpose does this serve? Sounds to me like another one of those "oh, I don't know why, but I know HOW."
- jkr801, on 06/25/2008, -0/+11outside??
- mikethejohnson, on 06/25/2008, -1/+12Pretty soon we won't even have to go outside to see the world....
- Griny, on 06/25/2008, -6/+14It will soon be time for Big brother, in any event it goes to that...
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -1/+8I remember that Google was advertising to hire people to go into buisness and take photo's and have business owners fill out a form etc...
So maybe that will be the next step in Googles maps services. - mark076h, on 06/25/2008, -0/+7oh my god he is talking about leaving the computer, i cant even imagine what that is like
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -1/+8So far the service sucks, interface sucks, and speed sucks. Its a lot of hype and a lot of garbage.
Will be forgotten ETA 3 minutes. - TheUngod, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6I hope they succeed massively. Not because it's a useful service, but because I live down the street from this place and would really like a high paying job with them :).
To be fair though, this service would be nice for things like museums and the like. There are lots of places I'd love to see but I'm too poor. - itsjussed, on 06/25/2008, -3/+9um... goes where google can't? in one building? google maps is all over the country.
- gymbrall, on 06/25/2008, -1/+5The real question that I would ask as an investor is how much does it cost for Google to enter the same market? And if they do see you as a threat (unlikely) and decide to enter the market (quite possibly), what is your method of differentiating your service from theirs, and why would someone continue to use you over them?
- FeloniusMonkey, on 06/25/2008, -2/+6What will be forgotten?
- eengineer, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4This has some uses. Would be nice to see hotels, restaurants, museums, potential employers offices, apartments, etc before you go there. I know most hotel websites have pictures but if you could see the place in a 3-d environment it could help you get a better idea of the place.
- hinesja, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3Um, clearly the author hasn't seen SketchUp by Google which allows one to model buildings including interiors.
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4No prob indeed. Just visit the establishment that agreed to have pictures taken. Open to the public.
- Shoebox639, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3"With great power comes great responsibility." Please heed these words EveryScape.
- jdhoover, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this article. It is called their Business Referral Representative... http://www.google.com/services/local-business-refe ...
- LinkGCN4, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2Uncle Ben?
- pathouston22, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3Sure you do. Want to try out a new restaurant? It would be nice to see what it looks like inside. How about rent an apartment? Fly right in with all the listing on a map. Lots of possiblities.
- VgRasta, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2I hear that they have a weird alien race called "females" outside.
- richlw, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPgV6-gnQaE
This says it all about that, hands down - 7levels, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3Google will buy it in a month.
- nexus37, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3No pix, no vids, no digg.
- mark076h, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3read the ***** story you moron
- m60dude5, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2So now we're not just gonna see a man standing outside of a brothel, we'll actually be able to see inside...
- VgRasta, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2I have a hard time pronouncing words with asterisks.
- bocce, on 06/30/2008, -0/+1Sounds nice, but then doesn't this just make it easier for stalkers to stalk people?
It probably won't be "live" but then it does have to constantly be updated every weeks/months or something. It would be nice to see something like this, but then if you can see inside someone's house, don't it just take away the whole idea of "privacy"?
What if you're having sex, showering, or just taking sometime to yourself? Would you like everybody to be able to see everything you're doing? - 101phones, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Good if you're selling a house or apt. scary if your being stalked...
- orenshk, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2You mean Dick Cheney's estate?
- nexus37, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1Who the ***** are you? Where the hell do you get off calling anybody a moron? Who the hell do you think you are and more importantly, why would you think that anything cares what you have to say? ***** you you sorry ass piece of *****. Mind your own ***** business. I didn't ask for your comment so ***** off you backwoods cocksucking *****.
- iNunchuk, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2Quick Somebody tell me their Stock Listing - this baby will be bought so fast.
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2I hope they don't catch me on the *****.
- noahhoward, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2*****! I was just working out how to get going on a project like this.
- noahhoward, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1But we're talking about google maps, not google earth.
- mark076h, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2great for real estate agents, map out the whole town, and the inside of the house
- cargoyle, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1You're kidding, right? Why do you think "decor" is one of the 5 criteria for rating a restaurant. People care about ambiance. The usefulness of the application is limited, but it's there, nonetheless.
- pw378, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Google already has Sketchup which does this in Google Earth.... sorry guys, too little too late... :P
- ryleyleckie, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1try leaving your home
- q1006662, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Somehow, I don't think they're going to achieve great power....
- sandburn, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2Google SketchUp anyone?
- thegator25, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2Who the hell isn't in it for the money?
- pw378, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Actually, it does. In google earth you can model entire buildings, and even fly through them.... Search for Sketchup to see examples.
- Splitthebiscuit, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1I'm aware that most people are in it for the money. But what I said was "JUST in it for the money". Meaning he could care less about his customers and all he wants if fame.
- Princeamor, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1wont happen...
