- Dailydose4me, on 12/04/2008, -2/+37Yipppeeeeee.....One here please !
- freezerburn666, on 12/04/2008, -7/+41these things are all pretty useless without the wifi in my opinion
- Visk, on 12/04/2008, -0/+25That's $400 AUD, not USD
$400 AUD = $260 USD - aamo, on 12/04/2008, -1/+25i believe that the phone comes in 2 version with the "pro" version sporting Wifi
- RobotBuddha, on 12/04/2008, -0/+24Why do phone designers always seem to make a decision to ensure that there's always a gaping hole that would make an otherwise great phone just "pretty good" to "kinda ok".
- yetAnotherCroc, on 12/04/2008, -2/+20Noone said anything about the iPhone.
- webkami, on 12/04/2008, -5/+22So which handset is it?
Kogan Agora
eh?
Koo-Gaan Agoo-Raa
what?
Its Google G2
Oh! Nice! - goeric, on 12/04/2008, -9/+24Can't wait for an Android phone that is actually an iPhone killer.
- imakecomments, on 12/04/2008, -3/+17yeah http://www.d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y.com/
- jvincent08, on 12/04/2008, -0/+13I actually like the design better than the iPhone. I prefer a physical keyboard than a touchscreen.
- sirjimithy, on 12/04/2008, -10/+23Only in Australia? What a bunch of crap...
- garbageday, on 12/04/2008, -2/+14The analog clock and the digital clock screenshot is still incorrect.
- jsuther, on 12/04/2008, -1/+13Since it isn't being deployed in the US, you can almost guarantee that it will be GSM
- scotchsean, on 12/04/2008, -0/+10I just want a G1 on ATT
- Juaquin, on 12/04/2008, -3/+13Would be nice to see Android on the iPhone, if just for the sake of trying it out.
- EastBury, on 12/04/2008, -3/+13That is def. hotter than the designed-by-committee G1.
- inhaler, on 12/04/2008, -1/+9I know, novice question, but could you put skype on something like that - run it in your household?
- deceth, on 12/04/2008, -1/+9Android phone in Canada please. I want to support open source, please let me.
- will4042, on 12/04/2008, -1/+8zZz phone?
- lazyslacker, on 12/04/2008, -0/+7I would prefer not to see the person I'm talking to on the phone. This is the reason video phones have never been widely used or accepted. People want to be able to be naked and talk to their bosses at the same time.
- notman, on 12/04/2008, -1/+8I want this on my verizon phone :(
- cpapp, on 12/04/2008, -0/+7the Pro version will have WiFi and GPS too
- noisymime, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the version without wifi only costs $299 AUD ($191 USD). That's an outright, no contract price.
- jonshipman, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6I do like the track ball though. I wish Apple's Home button was a trackball instead.
- VodkanLemons, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6any word on SPRINT's android yet?
they have the ***** phones out of any phone company. They need to release an android phone badly - noisymime, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6Checkout Kogan's history. They can and will do this, just like they've been doing with TVs, DVRs, camcorders, bluray players etc.
- jvincent08, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6A Google Android phone: a phone that runs Google Android. Just like a Windows Vista computer: a computer that runs Windows Vista.
I'm pretty sure anyone who's heard of Android knows that it's not a phone. - jvincent08, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6"Until all these phone companies realize this fact"
Wait, it's a fact that all people like touch-screen keyboards better? I call *****.
Shut the ***** up. If you like touch-screen, great, buy (or continue using) an iPhone or other touch phones. If buttons are your thing, get one with buttons. Don't force your opinion upon other people or other phone companies. - noisymime, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6You do realise that's damn cheap for a phone? That is an outright, no contract price.
Compare that to the iPhones outright price here in Aus which is about $850 AUD - Tenoq, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6It's Australian, so yes. We no longer have CDMA.
- angers, on 12/04/2008, -2/+7Because the hardware isn't made by the same people that made the software?
It's like saying just because Bush is a failure, you are also a failure. - theOster, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5and this keyboard looks better (from a tactile pov anyway) than the G1...
(and yes i'm adopting "pov" from "those sites") - JCEEZ, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5you call that a phone.... THIS is a phone
- EtherGnat, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5"The debate was settled years ago - the touch-screen keyboards are the answer and everyone is just going to have to DEAL with it."
Wait, why does everybody have to deal with it? The debate wasn't settled, and choice is a wonderful thing. Those who prefer a real keyboard can have it, and people who like the touchscreen can have that too. Why be a douche and force your preference on other people?
"The keyboard can be reformatted and tailored for every application and it does not take up room like normal buttons do."
Actually those buttons take up a lot of the most critical space on a phone--the screen. I have a slider phone and can have access to my full screen AND a full keyboard simultaneously. How much screen real estate do you have left on the iPhone in landscape mode when the keyboard is active?
"Until all these phone companies realize this fact, they will continue to be punished more and more by Apple in the marketplace."
Really? I can't wait to see your evidence that all the touchscreen keyboard phones on the market are doing better than the physical keyboard models. - Taiyoryu, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5There's plenty of room in the marketplace for phones with touchscreen buttons and physical buttons. The consumer can decide what they like and don't like. On a personal note, I've used a Kyocera Palm and Blackberry Pearl and ultimately settled on an iPhone. Here's hoping there will be an Android phone that has feature and functional parity with the iPhone. I'm secretly hoping for a SonyEricsson Cybershot or Nokia N-Series touchscreen phone that runs Android.
- n0c0ntr0l, on 12/04/2008, -4/+9you can already place orders. I placed one, definately more value for money than G1, not tied down by contract either.
- Culero, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5I hate my verizon options :(
- sublimemm, on 12/04/2008, -4/+9RTFA
- bytor4232, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5I feel ya brotha. I'm stuck with Verizon because everyone in my house uses Verizon.
- faceless323, on 12/04/2008, -1/+6LMFAO...
- lostsymphonies1, on 12/04/2008, -1/+6Are you forgetting how much the iPhone was new?
- fadingsignal, on 12/04/2008, -5/+9That's a hot lookin' phone!
- 2Bnor2B, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5Yeah, something like the HTC Touch HD running Android instead of Windows Mobile
http://www.htc.com/www/product/touchhd/overview.ht ... - wolfing, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5you'd be surprised
- macslut, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4The G1 seemed to go be going after the iPhone a bit more than this one. This seems to be directly targeted to the Blackberry.
- wolfing, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4except that you're paying more than that for an Iphone, when you include the extra $$$ you are paying AT&T every month.
- hadak, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4That's more like it.
Now, we just need something like that for sprint. - inactive, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5How come they get the slick phone?
