- sTiVo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Don't get me wrong, Amber is gorgeous, but I found ITN kind of boring. Every interview: synopsis of the guests site, how did it get started, how are you going to make money. This sounds like it has a bit more promise and gets away from a stale format. If there is such a thing as podcast2.0 this may be it.
- angelp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I think Amber has a great personality, but I stopped listening to Inside the Net because her Canadian Valley Girl voice and laugh makes me cringe. I can take her in small doses, but an entire show is just too irritating.
- Opelious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6If I recall, the Inside the Net shows had the ads edited in during post, which I think makes the most sense, so the ad won't get interrupted, and Leo will get it right.
- yakk0dotorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6read http://twit.tv. It's not being canceled.
- LeeVal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Sounds like its been recorded the same time TWiT is usually recorded
- wfmk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I could eat a net at night
- pidge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I wish they would focus more attention on TWiT. Personally, I don't listen to the other shows that often because i don't find them that appealing quite like TWiT which is a very rounded show. My 2nd favorite TWiT network show is MacBreak. I sure hope they don't kill TWiT to focus more time on other less interesting shows.

Bit of a Mac fan but she knows her stuff. Also she is cute as all get out. - u02sgb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4So is this gonna be like "Baywatch Nights"?
- nicko68, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There's a really great picture of Amber on the TWiT.tv site.
On another note, did you read Leo's comment about TWiT? It sounds like it's gonig to continue, with safeguards in place to keep it fresh. Good news! - Stopher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Finally something that kind of fits Leo's 'Netcast' nomer.
Calling a podcast a netcast kinda leaves the idea of portability out of the name but Netcast is good for describing a live event. - avatarpalin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Rather!! Hear Hear!!
- cquinnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not queer, just mature enough to know there is more to liking a woman than her just being hot.
Yes, Amber is very pretty, she is also smart, has a sense of humor, and is geekier where it counts that most guys on Digg. - TomKan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5What about the original TWIT? I don't want TWIT to be cancelled!
- ashchristopher, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Although I welcome a new show, I really did enjoy the insight that Inside The Net provided. It sounds like this new show will be getting away from the technology and ideas used in todays Web 2.0 applications, and instead will focusing on current events. It kind of sounds like a re-worked diggnation or This Week In Tech. I am not sure yet if it is a good thing. Maybe this new format will really work wonders!
Oh, and the whole LIVE aspect definitely piques my curiosity. - bubs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I think TWIT would work well in a live format as well.
- cquinnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think there was one time they went out to dinner or something after he went up to Toronto to help film a Call for Help episode.
I think the "date" got blown way out of proportion by the other guys on the TWiT podcast at the time. - bluephoenix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3At least Amber's brother isn't on this show, god is he intolerable to listen to on command-N...no offense but if you can't speak articulately on camera....just don't be on camera.
- hextor01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm sorry but at the shows she usually had nothing to say. I mean no content on her own, and it is just posing trite questions to the guests.
- jamiejamez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@subneural
I believe you are thinking about when Kevin came up to Toronto to spend time with Amber on her birthday.

I don't think that her interviewing skills are sub-par, its just in comparison to Leo (who has decades of experience to call upon), everyone except Dvorak looks sub-par in practice.
I do agree that she needs to be able to ask and maintain a more solid line of questioning, instead of playing to the "how is your Web 2.0 cooler than the other guys Web 2.0?" theme. - cquinnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't.
The big problem is getting everyone together to agree on the topics of the discussion in advance, without at the same time making it sound like it was a set up.
The advantage of pre-recording is they can talk about anything that comes up, and edit the podcast later to fill the hour slot better. - jasorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've listened to or watched Leo for what seems like a lifetime now in many, many different formats covering many, many topics. I'd have to say when it comes to tech shows, the ones I like best have Leo.
Sure, sometimes they seem a light in the britches as far as techie content but not always.
But I think Leo is wrong on one point. He said this would be his last chance to win podcaster of the year award. The name may change from pod to net, but I think he'll win at least once more. - jwking100, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Perhaps this is where the future of TWIT is if it works.
- subneural, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I seem to recall hearing (somewhere) that Amber and Kevin used to date...can anyone back me up on this?
- deanlowe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Every guy wants to see Amber in one of those red swimsuits but that's never going to happen.
- bitterg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2TWiT looks to be doomed, which is sad because it's the only tech podcast that's both mature and not masturbatory.
- dengar69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hmm....Dvorak on 1 side, Amber on the other. Who would YOU pick?
- djliquidice, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3she's hot.
- Ahulane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is definitely sounding better by the minute.
- IHaveIssues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No mp3 version?
- av8tryxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think the most exciting part about this new idea is the fact that because it's live, the listeners really have a chance to drive the content. If enough people chime in and want to talk about web 2.0 (or whatever), then that's probably where the show will go. Leo pushing the envelope again. If you listen to the test show, it sounds like it's just going to be alot of fun. I can't wait!
- meshgiath, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's not just that grating voice/laugh for me. Even now, after doing the TV shoes and radio shows she has done, her interviewing skills are sub-par. Half of what she asks, she will ask, then do the smile and "shy-girl-lookaway" at the person in question followed by some "yeah, yeah" and a giggle. I really just want to throw up every time she interviews someone.
I honestly would listen to MANY more netcasts/vidcasts if she wasn't on. Attractive, yes. Talented, surely - but not for vid/netcasts. - BrianSchuliger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Check it out now... we just re-posted the test call with Leo so you can see (hear) how it works.
- SunAlex, on 09/01/2008, -0/+0Hey guys link doesn't work. and were can I get information?

http://search.ashtech.info/tech%20news - stor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like the website they are using (http://www.talkshoe.com/) saves all the podcasts so that you *can* download the MP3 later
There don't yet appear to be any recording for net@nite:
http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=3185
But if you look at some of the other shows, they allow both MP3 download and streaming.
for example see: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=477 - BuckyBit, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4This sounds like: "Goodbye Twit. Don-t bother me, JD, PN, ..."
- jimmah82, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Dvorak.. at least he's got something interesting to say.
Leo.. there's easier ways to get a girl half your age to digg you. - sjsonline, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1My show also on Talkshoe.com is Geekriot. I will have Cali Lewis from GeekBrief on this Sunday at 9:00pm, you can call in live or IM during the show. Check out http://www.shawnsmith.us/geekriot for more info.
- TheBlackLeopard, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Amber Macarthur underwent a dangerous surgery to have her personality removed. The procedure was a complete success and Amber now speaks like a robot and can put a toddler high on sugarcubes to sleep in a matter of minutes.
- cards, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Yes, another weekly podcast about the previous weeks events in technology. That's what we've all been waiting for. [/sarcasm]
- mleaman, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Is Amber single?
With this ring, I thee digg. - nicko68, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0[moved]
- djliquidice, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1haha you fags that hit the thumbs down are so queer.
Anywho it's good that twit is still going to stay alive. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+3Amber who?
- Terr, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1Please insert as many ads as possible in the middle of people's sentences. That'll make it a success.
