- Slyder0244, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i just went here http://www.lik-sang.com/list.php?nav=left_top&category=160&PHPSESSID=52e23862bac61a9659b9e30ab00bc0a1 and got an adapter for my ps2 controller but they make them for many other controllers as well i love the feel of my ps2 controller and now i use it for emulators
- mailman-zero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I did this by gutting an SNES multitap and wiring it so I had five ports for SNES controllers. Really works great on my Freevo box in the living room. I think it's much better to make an adapter with plugs than to mod the contoller itself. Whole project cost me less than 20 dollars including the multitap itself.
I had previously got a pair of ready-made controllers off of eBay, but they were crap quality aftermarket controllers, and no way to replace them since they were soldered directly to a DB25 connector.
The original website doesn't exist anymore, but here's a copy of the instructions I used (and like very much):
http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/143/62/ - pizzafiend, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I bought the NES kit a few months ago. It's a good project, takes a few hours. The only problem was after you do all the soldering its a little hard to close the back of the controller, but after you do that it works seamlessly. Overall I would recommend it.
- ultraelite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the psp reminds me of the nes and snes controller I find all 3 uncomfortable but love them anyway ( my hands are f'ing huge no joke I mean HUGE)
- cjsan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I actually posted this a while ago and have one of the snes controllers...its well worth the money
- sudonim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice digg :) I gotta get one of these bad boys hooked up for playing emulator games (who knows how much longer my snes will last).
- BT-Wang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you can build a parallel port version of most of these with 5 1N914 diodes and a male db-25 connector. although some, such as n64 adaptors, can be a bit more complex.
- wxjunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now these rock. Kinda pricey, but if you're prone to playing one set of roms like me -- SNES -- then it's def. worth it.
- geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is quite awesome! I wonder about the quality of the controller itself though...
From TFA: "Controllers are in used condition and may have scratches, fading, or dents from normal usage wear."
My regular SNES controllers are about to die on me because they've been so heavily used. I would hope that these ones are no where near that condition. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder how difficult thiswould be to do on my own. I'd love couple of controller ports under my dvd drive.
- Lung-Dart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These would be great ofr my xbox
- Parks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There isnt a working emulator for the tg16! what good will this do?
- MikeZila, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's perfectly possible to make one of those yourself, but I would pay a premium to have one made by somebody who knows what they're doing.
Good digg. - mpeters13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.sealiecomputing.com/retrozone/ is where I get my stuff :D
- imtigger2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I get my adapters from lik-sang.com, great service. I use my XBOX controller for ALL my driving and action PC games, works EXCELLENT! I wouldn't use any other pc controller after trying most all of them.
- KdoggMDF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats cool.
- ecna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1don't have the link handy, but I have used MagicEngine for tg16 in the past, worked pretty damn well, although it isn't free...
- brewthatistr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know if the attraction is in the DIY or the nostalgia. In any case, there are places you can buy this stuff, and there are controllers still in production with NES/SNES designs. see http://www.playmessiah.com/onlinestore/ (discovered via oldschoolgamer.ca)
- ProAm500, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1MagicEngine was the *****...I acutally I had a turbografx 16 back in the day, adn the games to me were great...
- gamma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I bought the NES Advantage a year ago. It is great for MAME because of the arcade style. They used to have the SNES Advantage but have not in a long time. : ( It would be better because it has more buttons.
Well worth the money considering what the X-Arcade controllers go for. - jfair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No one will ever duplicate the simple elegance and hand cramping ability of the original NES controller. I might just get one. Anyone actually have experience using one of these?
