- bs3arch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I think this is a good reminder that MySpace was started by an email spam company as a way to harvest mail addresses via 'opt-in' measures.
- ericodom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Agreed. I HATE MySpace with a passion. But that doesn't change the fact that this should be Dugg and attention should be given to it. This BS has to stop.
- fiorenza, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Yeah, I'm not sure that the email header proves anything. Marked as inaccurate.
- sfmman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Can't you just uncheck the box to recieve the newsletter?
- CristianMezei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can't uncheck, because I DON'T have an account at Myspace.
- nhassan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2myspace has been going down and down, and people still love it.
myspace was made by idiots. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not news.
- stevesearer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I deleted my myspace several months ago and was surprised to get a 'MySpace Member Newsletter' yesterday. It mentioned that I could change my account settings to not receive such emails, the only problem being that I no longer have an account.

I have the same problem! I had a myspace account ages ago. deleted it. i still get newsletters and blog bulletins. Support refuses to stop sending me the emails. I asked, and emailed and they're always like "well you have to change your settings". I don't have the account anymore! how am i supposed to change the settings? it's crazy - dasunst3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ all of you receiving member UCE/spam even though you are no longer with MySpace:
Isn't that a violation of CAN-SPAM? If so, you can take them to small claims court and get yourself some $$$! - CristianMezei, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Exactly Akaji.. You people should read more before marking stories inaccurate.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2seriously, i still get email from them AFTER killing my account
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My myspace was already set to Do not send me newsletters and they still sent it to me... Spammers!
- rograffiti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+02 possibilities here:
- someone (maybe some spammer?) simply used it to subscribe to myspace
... OR ...
- it could really be spam from myspace - thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5What did you expect?
It's a site chalk full of clueless teeny boppers.
~Buried - eis271828, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's rather stupid, really. If you've ever subscribed to a friend's myspace blog and cancel your account, you still get update notifications for months. Those are some mighty inconsistent tables.
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Uhh... catchall?
- Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1When will you people learn.
SPAM (in caps) is a trademark for the canned meat product made by Hormel Foods.
Spam (not in caps) is a colloquial term for unsolicited commercial email. - adiqiucorp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2CYRE...do you really read the story ???
- MYarms, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Just block it from your inbox and quit your stupid whining. Must you people complain about every little thing????
- Cyre, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2If the email address doesn't exist, then how do you know there were spams sent to it?
