- mcdvda, on 10/12/2007, -2/+114we should all send internets to the myspace tubes to complain
- Daisuke, on 10/12/2007, -4/+67but then the internets will be slow, because after all, it's only a series of tubes.
- randomtask, on 10/12/2007, -1/+55Who could blame them, that video was too pointed. It was clogging up the tubes.
- Pluckie, on 10/12/2007, -9/+59FOX News... fair and balanced!
- DrunkenPirate34, on 10/12/2007, -3/+52But myspace wont get it until 10 O'Clock TOMMOROW!
- holmes101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37Dugg because it calls ted stevens a *****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30Luckily, The Daily Show comes to the rescue. You can see Jon Steurt make it even more funny right here. :)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=6iMDRVzMfEM&search=ted%20steven%20tubes - davymac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25they reinstated the account after they published the article.. how convenient, haha
- phatvolvo, on 10/12/2007, -9/+33LOL INTERNET
- Several, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21The best part is they said it was "deleted in error".
- sonictonic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Yeah... gotta make sure not to use those TRUCKS anymore. It's all about the TUBES.
- Klowner, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23It is pretty bad, but the dude is 82 years old. I can't imagine my grandpa explaining it any better, but then again, why is this guy so adamantly against net neutrality if he doesn't really comprehend the implications?
.. resume laugher - dawgma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19flashboca
I'd love to ammount to kicking your ass. Where do you live? - theuber1337, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20"It is pretty bad, but the dude is 82 years old. Though age shouldn't be a valid excuse when the man in question is such a large factor in its future. My grandpa is only a little younger, but still at that age he can talk about fiber optic cable, wi-fi, and Ethernet all day. - MrShoop, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22people are seriously deluded if they think anyone, especially a rich dude like Rupert Murdoch, gave a crap about a myspace band profile that a guarantee about a dozen people had seen. And if rupert murdoch or one of his news corp lackey's did care, wouldn't they ask this profile to be deleted?
http://myspace.com/rupertmurdoch
or how about this one:

or

And you think they give a crap about some song dissing Ted Stevens? - Daisuke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19It's kinda like that one YouTube rights video that made the Front Page recently. They reserve the right to do whatever they want to with your account, for the most part. However, it does seem a tad suspicious, with the timing bit and all...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19@flashboca: that's enough of your *****. You are so obssessed with "sex" in your posts and you constantly complain of the "average digg user's mentality" yet you use words like "*****" all the time.
Thank god for the block button.
For everyone else who doesn't know: CLICK ON THE LITTLE CIRCLE ICON TO THE RIGHT OF flashboca's NAME - ShepherdBook, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Damnit people, quit hammering the site!
I can only get:
HTTP Error 503: Tubes are full. - scottc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15It's the first link in the article. http://www.myspace.com/tedstevensfanclub
- Kaster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Can't believe we have such a moron in charge of this stuff, makes me sick.
- Improfane, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Mike that was nasty.
- jbus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19That's what you get for using a Rupert Murdoch owned service.
- nogami, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17I think you have this backwards in your guesswork...
Try "Rupert Murdoch called myspace and told them to take down the page"
There you go, that wasn't hard was it? - shmatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Mike, grow up. That was a really ***** thing to do. Grow up.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Ok who's got their hand on my tube....?!? My internets is slow
- xtremdav45, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Everybody needs to mature up and realize that myspace != FOX News. Yes, they are both part of News corp, but so is lots of stuff around the world.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_Corp#Holdings
Does than mean that FOX News is 9.8% of the Lakers? Does it mean that IGN is now part of FOX News? OMG! We better watch out for those Conservatives taking over the video game reviews!
The title of this page is misleading and designed to ignite a flame war. In reality even News Corporation has no daily responsibility running MySpace. I doubt that Ted Stevens made a phone call to Rupert Murdoch asking him to remove this page.
I know this comment will be dugg down for the simple fact that many other comments in this thread pointing out the difference between myspace and FNC is like saying you and your cousin are the same person.
I ask that this comment not be dugg down just because it doesn't reflect your political ideology of bashing FOX News. Believe it or not you can watch FOX News, be a Republican, favor Net Neutrality and think Ted Stevens is a dumb ass, all at the same time. - Crackshot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11We're all missing the real tragedy here,
you see the formal complaint was sent through the series of tubes last Wednesday and Rupert Murdoch News Corps. did not receive their internet until Tuesday, proving all the more that when you dump all sorts of movies and such into the trucks within the tubes of the internet your own personal internet is put in line because of a bunch of other material clogging the tubes if you will (except for bets on horse racing) - aburd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I had no idea that myspace even had censors. I thought people just did whatever they wanted there and that was the attraction. Are there other cases of myspace taking down non-child porn related accounts?
- ripcord, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Mike,
You, sir, are a douchebag.
Regards,
A grownup. - pgm_01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9That means you need to throw some lottery balls down there and clean it out.
- Chmarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@author20. The first amendment only applies to the GOVERNMENT restricting free speech. It does not mean you can claim "you cant censor me, this is free speech" on a privately-run website. Their site, their rules. If you don't like it, start your OWN website.
Now, why am I saying this? Well, because i get ENOUGH people claiming "free speech violation" when I delete content on MY website, that *I* pay for. - krum0786, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"Sorry! an unexpected error has occurred. "
Yea, okay... I'm sure they'll fix it right away.
/sarcasm - Jams, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Why dont they go after all the spammers and spyware companies instead of "punishing" companies that actually provide a useful service. Maybe that way he can unblock his tubes and get his internets on time.
- HMTKSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Someone should start a campaign to mail conduit tubes to his Senate office. Label them "Internets" and you can further mark them up based on their width with a bandwidth marker...
- eatdontsendspam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Ted Stevens if your out there, it's not the consumers falt, you have cheap internet. How funny would that be if he was using dial up.
- StevenR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Myspace "accidentally" deleting and then reinstating the song is newsworthy, But the truth is the song isn't as funny as Ted Stevens original speech was.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm going out on a limb here and saying that English is not Ted Stevens native language.
- desune, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9It doesn't take much to get myspace accounts removed in my own experience, so there is no need to scream censorship just because a particular account that is offensive to some people and thus gets reported gets removed.
Myspace is a very large free site that has to deal with so many complaints each day that they don't start big investigations.
If you want a reliable hosting for songs pay for it, myspace can do whatever they want with your account according to their terms.
People act like Rupert Mordoch personally deletes myspace accounts or enforces censorship rules. - smurfmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Klowner: If he's too old or too dumb to understand what he's talking about, he shouldn't be a Senator.
- velocipenguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Pay no attention to flashboca. He's just upset because nobody's left any comments on his yellow-on-bright-green Myspace page (which also includes 17 embedded music videos that try to play simultaneously.)
- greenhornet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@ flashboca
"Remember...you are NOT normal. No one will EVER agree with you because you are a ***** idiot who will never amount to ANYTHING. PLEASE..always keep that in mind before you open your mouth."
Want to compare accomplishments, paychecks, cars, houses, wives or anything else you might put in the criteria for "amounting to anything"?
We make it possible for you to get your email and watch your porn douchebag. Don't think your feeble attempts at insulting us will get you anything but pwned. - wbagdon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I think this guy has done more FOR net neutrality than he has against it. Talking ignorantly and having people correcting him while he's ranting is great for net neutrality
- Mike89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5""Sorry! an unexpected error has occurred. "
Yea, okay... I'm sure they'll fix it right away.
/sarcasm"
That's not censorship, that's just what 90% of Myspace page loads return. - velocipenguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@flashboca:
Perhaps you should learn to spell before criticizing others. Some examples taken from your post:
"dumbducks"
"differenc"
"Teh"
"thimnk"
"WORHTLESS"
"misrerable"
"bastly"
"hpapy"
Hypocrites piss me the ***** off. - thrackle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Article has been update to include "Editor's note: MySpace reinstated Raff's account Thursday afternoon following publication of this story. The company says Raff's account was deleted in error."
(I'm not asserting whether or not the deletion was truly in error. I'm just updating the digg story) - Xizer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7This just in: MySpace sucks. Who cares?
- mancat, on 10/12/2007, -9/+14As is Digg.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7anybody got a link to the movie?
- jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6falcon:
you give yourself too much credit - CrankyMcGuy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Rupert doesn't individually delete each account!?! Next you'll tell me there's no tooth fairy! You hater!
