I found it to be really enlightening about the situation in Burma, and how the Burmese are essentially screwed, and that the real tragedy is that it was once a rich, prosperous nation, turned into this ***** of a country.
- ageedoy, on 05/05/2009, -0/+3"You’ll most likely know it as Myanmar, but it’ll always be Burma to me..."
- usaseopros, on 05/05/2009, -0/+3Citizen journalists, welcome to the life of the real journalists. If you want to do reporting in certain areas, you'll risk the consequences. Very sad, but also very true.
- Hortinstein, on 05/05/2009, -1/+4wheres geocities on the list?
- jjvors, on 05/05/2009, -1/+3I find it hard to believe the N. Korea missed #1. Perhaps they don't have any blogging because they don't have any electricity, computers, or food? I certainly know any any political opposition meets long term incarceration--if you're lucky.
- wpc33, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2You, boy! Come back! Sell me one of your melons!!
- KalvinAlexander, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2It's like asking everyone to take bus or stay home forever if they can't afford ferrari.
I'm myanmar and I start my life using XT 8088 with DOS 5 playing dig-duck with 5.25 black floopies.
12 yrs ago, owning a 56K MODAM without proper documents, it can cause the owner 6 months in jail.
Comparing to such situation, now is better ... they can do something else than blogging .. - Tenoq, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2And soon, sliding in above Egypt, 10) Australia.

- adrian12, on 05/06/2009, -0/+1While I appreciate your concern for all those things, your complaint is ridiculous. There're people who write about blogs, and there are people who write scientific journals. By your standard, should we abandon the entertainment industry and give all the money to 3rd world countries? The internet has so much stuff and you as the reader are the one who decide what to spend your time on. When those people are writing a report on government censorship around the world, what are you doing?
- harmlessdrudge, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1Clearly the opinion of someone who has never traveled. Still living with your parents?
- DrDabbles, on 05/06/2009, -2/+3It blows my mind that in first world nations we would even do a study or survey like this. How about:
Worst place to get a sip of clean water
Worst place to eek out a living growing rice
Worst place to live with government denying foreign aid after a natural disaster
Worst place to live in a mud and stick hut
Completely unbelievable that people would care that it's the worst place to blog when most people living there live in such destitute poverty that a computer isn't even a fantasy to them. Get your ***** straight people. - mynameistux, on 05/06/2009, -0/+1"You are being watched
it is for your own good
do not question" - Kevin Rudd, 2009 - larsonsm, on 05/06/2009, -1/+2There is nothing more frivolous than this article.
- shabbo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+0Hmmmm, very nice, there is some lists to, Blog community - http://www.blogeri.hr (Everything for Bloggers)
- wpc33, on 05/06/2009, -1/+1Worst place? Maui. Stuck inside, staring at a screen...
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -1/+0Actually these are the best places to be a blogger because blogging in these countries will almost certainly up your life expectancy, as going outside into the daylight will more likely cause you to get shot, oppressed, or something even worse.
- presidentraygun, on 05/05/2009, -7/+4Followed directly by mom's basement.
- dfarino, on 05/05/2009, -5/+0Myanmar? Is that the discount pharmacy?
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -8/+2Really? Really?? This is how far we have moved away from true journalism in the U.S. If CNN was doing true journalism in the U.S., then they would be intimidated. But instead the mainstream media plays softball with the elites of the nation. Because they are scared of angering those that control the corporate purse.
Or maybe I'm just imagining David Barstow winning the Pulitzer Prize for rooting out the Pentagon puppets that drove us to war in Iraq and made viewers on a daily basis nod their head in agreement with the Pentagon. Yeah, mainstream media won't even mention Barstow.
