- suprfli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i remember seeing something like this for unreal tournament or unreal 2 or something. i saw something recently of a game running in the outfield of an american football or baseball stadium as well(when players and fans weren't there and it was staff).
i tried this w/a projector that i have and you end up having to turn your head to look at various sections of the game and it hurts the gaming experience. i good sized tv or monitor is excellent for gaming but when you get into projector sized images it doesn't work as well. - antiwmac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so what?

- chris943, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ok, how he rich, he obviously works for a theater company you can see the freaking exit signs on the side, he just works there, hooked up a xbox 360 to the main projector and uses wireless. he not flaunting richness, he flaunting his job. and notice he says we, so his buddies hook up and he plays. any manager thats cool would let employees do this when not peek hours on some crappy film.

- john117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Has to be fake. The XBox itself would have to be up in the projection room, since an HD cable that long wouldn't carry the signal. And the range of the wireless controller isn't nearly far enough for him to be sitting where he is. It's remotely possible (no pun intended) that they built a wireless repeater for the controller, or that they're using a sniper antenna for the thing, but very unlikely.

First of all - take a breather. It is not my projector. It is indeed at a (private) theater I have access to. I worked to get the projector installed and talked the respective owner into the 4K upgrade since they plan on Digital Cinema in the near future.
I can assure you it is not Photochopped. That is indeed my balding head in the 3rd or fourt row - I had to turn track spots on so you could actually see me in the frame purely for scale.
Here is a 2.5MB video of the action. Xvid format - no sound. Very fuzzy cause my Sony HDR-HC1 HDV camera doesn't handle low light very well and the room is dark - it is a theater after all.

Someone remarked that this is impossible cause the 360 would have to be in the projection booth - wrong. There is a thing called a "video switch". Not all that exotic. And luckily the controller is wireless so I can be 100 ft away from the console. And to those that say it is a waste cause I am scaling HD up by 4x and that native 1080 is better. At home I play on a native Sony 1080p SXRD set. But the projector is 4K cause it was aimed for Digital Cinema with 4K being the highest defined resolution. It wasn't MADE for gaming. If anyone has a native source that spits out video at 4096x2160, please email me and I will be happy to hook it up and test it out for you.
Thanks for those of you that also thought it was cool. I just posted it cause I had access to it and couldn't resist seeing what it was like. It is VERY disorienting so we didn't play long. The quality and native resolution of the projector mean you are losing picture detail, and therefor just wasted a ***** of money, and showing it off on a low quality video is also super dumb. We've all seen games played on a big screen before, you've shown us nothing new.

Ok... so you have a projector that has a resolution of 4096x2160... too bad you are actually LOSING quality by upscaling it from 1080i to 2160p. I have an InFocus 1080p projector and it works wonderfully; crystal clear picture at 192 diameter. And its a 20th of what you paid.
Of yea, it only has 1,400 LUMs, which is just as bright as your 10k LUMs... when its projected in a DARK room!
And with such a big screen, it probably would make for a good multiplayer experience... Right? So why do I see only you in that picture.... There is always Live, I guess?
