- fluidfoundation, on 07/02/2008, -1/+16Phone gaming began and ended with Nokia's Snake.
- MadKennyP, on 07/02/2008, -3/+13The iPhone seems to be strong in the graphics/processing department. But the lack of buttons seems to limit what games can be produced.
(I am an iPhone owner) - 1jaxstate1, on 07/02/2008, -2/+10Pocket NES, Sega Emulator, PS1 emulators, all working on my WM phone. The games look great and run fast.
- Namco, on 07/02/2008, -0/+8Phone games designed around the strengths of the phone's capabilities and are fun in short play sessions will do well. Super Monkey Ball played on an iPhone's tilt sensors will do well, but Splinter Cell played on a sideways N-Gage taco sucks.
- Sabin, on 07/02/2008, -0/+7Not sure if its the emulators fault or the iphones but it seems that the multi touch interface is limited to two touches making even NES gaming almost impossible on the iphone. Try a runnign jump in SMB and you'll see what I mean.
- phorty40, on 07/02/2008, -0/+5the homebrew and emulator scene have been enjoying great content on mobles for a few years now.
- phorty40, on 07/02/2008, -0/+5dugg for realism.
- Baryn, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4superkendall -- ignorant Apple fanboy!
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4PS1? Holy *****, what phone do you have and which emulator do you use?
- Wargalas, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4Oh you know how fickle Digg users can be. First it was RON PAUL!, now its Obama! Shiftless bunch of spineless liberals I tell ya!
- MewtwoReturns, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4I stopped reading at N-Gage.
- Acglaphotis, on 07/02/2008, -3/+7Forbes.com seems to be getting a lot of front-page space this days. Maybe the Digg demographic is shifting again?
- Trifold, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4I like how the article throws N-Gage in there because it sounds better if there's three examples.
- wedges, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4xkcd, cracked...
- guillebravo6, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3Looks like it, Forbes and Obama
- guillebravo6, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3I read the article
- guillebravo6, on 07/02/2008, -6/+9Phone games will just become more and more advanced, it is amazing how much they have progressed.
- Wargalas, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2I was speaking about their fickleness. The second statement I made had nothing to do with the first.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Amen.
- suckanucka, on 07/02/2008, -5/+7I play World of Warcraft on my phone... no wait, I never leave my parent's basement so I don't need a cell phone.
- Mononuclear, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1As long as it's not those stupid forbes slideshows.
- Namco, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Well, Blizzard is hiring mobile content developers so they're making a move in this direction. All I want is a way to buy and sell in the auction house on my mobile phone... that would be awesome!
- MCA2142, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Best cell phone game: Assassin
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/257920/th ... - Namco, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1But it has a rating of 3 stars out of 5. You sure it's a good game?
- thebza451, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2that's great news (theoretically) but can you please show me a phone game worth playing other than spore? no? okay then.
- maninalift, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1No it;'s just a lazy article cribbed from press-releases
- Cimlite, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1The N-Gage is garbage, was and probably forever will be... Nokia does not understand what makes a good gaming platform at all.
That said, it's still the one major attempt out there at creating such a platform for cell phones, so yeah... It's worth mentioning in the article. - 1jaxstate1, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1FPSEce to play mech warrior. The emulator is free, but they say you should own the game, but I'm sure a tech savvy digger like yourself can easily find the ROMs. (Just google PS1 ROMs) heh.
HTC Hermes with a cooked ROM running WM6.1 - dcmjzero, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2ron paul is hardly liberal. you need to work on your stereotyping.
- pyrates, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Yep that's exactly what multi touch means currently. Are you happy that you fell for marketing?
- Baryn, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1You NERD
- pyrates, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Wasn't this on an episode of csi new york?
- Sabin, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1Actually I don't personally own an iphone/ipod touch...guess you could say I didn't buy into the marketing
- aggromonkey, on 07/02/2008, -0/+0Honestly, I don't think that they should add all this crap to phones because it takes away from their real purpose. Also, they're just putting a greater price on the phone even if the customer doesn't want all this hi-tech junk. But, it would make other companies work harder for our entertainment and quality :)
- hexydes, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Three words: Emulators.
Ok, that was only one word. Still, I think it's a pretty good word. - awesomeric, on 07/02/2008, -0/+0Did we forget to include mobile porn
- sandiegodude, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1I was totally amped to play games on my phone. Then I saw the dismal offerings from my provider. I still took a shot, agreeing to pay the 2.99 a month to play. After getting sorely disapointed (and sore-thumbed) I gave up and canceled. This was awhile ago, and with new phones packing a lot more processing power, the future looks better. The problem at this point is the $400+ if I want a great gaming machine + smart phone, not to mention the associated contracts with host providers.
- Namco, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1*in a sweaty Ballmer rant* "EMULATORS, EMULATORS, EMULATORS.... EMULATORS, EMULATORS, , EMULATORS!!!!"
- mrroarke, on 07/02/2008, -2/+2This "article" reads like one of those advertisements disguised as an article (only without the "This Is An iPhone Advertisement" disclaimer).
- MadKennyP, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1I get that, but soft buttons won't work nearly as well, in my opinion.
- superkendall, on 07/02/2008, -2/+1I'm not sure how you can put "N-Gague" in the same sentence as "iPhone" and "Android". Both the latter are far more versatile than the N0-Gague ever was.
- phorty40, on 07/02/2008, -2/+1*insert generic comment because i havent read the article but can assume its about advanced phone gaming*
/mimic - superkendall, on 07/02/2008, -4/+2Since there are an infinite number of possible buttons, I'm not sure what about it seems limiting.
- cledford, on 07/02/2008, -10/+6BOOM HEADSHOT from my iPhone. pwnt.
- Rudegar, on 07/02/2008, -6/+1i got duke3d and warcraft2 running on my wm phone
