- AaronPDX, on 11/06/2009, -1/+71Costing News Corp money? Who knew MySpace would do some good on its way out the door.
- Hayley3AM, on 11/05/2009, -0/+48I used to think myspace was the best thing ever. Then I turned 14.
- LeroyJenkems, on 11/06/2009, -2/+47Hopefully Rupert Murdoch takes an enormous loss from the fall of Myspace.
- KingofNightlife, on 11/06/2009, -0/+37The only person who still uses myspace is Tila Tequila
- neutron7, on 11/06/2009, -2/+35I hope they drag "news" corp down with them.
- timschuit, on 11/06/2009, -2/+32Myspace is the geocities of 2009.
In 3 years everyone will look back and laugh, wondering how it ever became so popular.
My favorite is when someone tells you they have a website, and when you ask for the url they give you a myspace link. I just about go on a chimp rage every time that happens. - exscind, on 11/06/2009, -0/+29Does this surprise anyone other than News Corp?
- nxusername, on 11/05/2009, -1/+28Dying company is dying.
- greggerm, on 11/06/2009, -1/+24FACEBOOK INVESTORS: Let this be a warning!
Eventually, you might be facing the very same thing as the "next big thing" comes along and usurps the userbase. - thebreach, on 11/06/2009, -0/+21Not that surprising, personally all of my friends moved to Facebook and got me to join them on their exodus. I canceled my Myspace account altogether. I guess having a simpler clean way to stay in touch is more appealing to adults than eye cancer inducing blinky GIF laden ***** fest MySpace sites.
- inactive, on 11/06/2009, -0/+18Myspace is so antiquated even the jailbait are all grown up.
- wilc8650, on 11/06/2009, -3/+18What the hell is a "MySpace?"?
- LiamIsOnFire, on 11/05/2009, -0/+14Good, they should stop while they can.
- spyderfreek2k, on 11/06/2009, -0/+14The only person who still uses Tila Tequila is everyone.
- beermad, on 11/06/2009, -2/+16When you're a megalomaniac, every setback hurts badly.
- skintigh, on 11/06/2009, -0/+12Myspace is all ads, crashes and trash compared to Facebook, but they have offer one service Facebook doesn't: the ability to search for new people to hook up with. You have to know people in Facebook before you can check them out.
Speaking of which, I need to log into my Myspace and see how many middle aged fat women have contact me. - hauntedchippy, on 11/06/2009, -0/+9Excellent
- selfobsessed, on 11/06/2009, -0/+9I just deleted mine yesterday. It makes me happy inside.
- allanpat, on 11/06/2009, -1/+9While this is true, Facebook's in a much less tenuous position than Myspace/Friendster ever were.
Both Myspace/Friendster grew complacent with their outdated designs & features, thinking it didn't matter to the users. Facebook on the other hand stays pretty on top of their game, and usually a few steps ahead of what the user thinks they want.
If any social networking site is in danger of being irrelevant in the next few years, it's Twitter. - Akraz, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7That's what happens when you let 14 year old boys imagination run wild with the html editor and code embedding software.
Dont even get me started on the 14 year old girls. - diggbigwig, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Would the last one out, please turn off the lights.
- Mockylock, on 11/06/2009, -1/+8The whole site turned into *****. Not that it was anything great, but once they tried keeping up with facebook, they made the pages turn into mud. Everyone's pages are filled with garbage and ***** up links and graphics... not to mention, everyone's account has been taken over by phishing.
- craptastrophy, on 11/06/2009, -1/+7Hope it's not due to Rupert's plan to charge people to link to their friends. Far too many people were stealing friends for free.
- wilc8650, on 11/06/2009, -0/+4You should save your best comments for YouTube.
- openandshut, on 11/06/2009, -1/+6The music profiles are the only reason myspace is still alive. Facebook hasn't really produced adequate pages for music as of yet.
- SteveC123, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5I couldn't agree more. FB jumped the shark with these stupid applications. The entire reason my friends and I all migrated to FB was because it was clean, secure, and SPAM/hassle free. That is certainly not the case anymore!
- Cowboy1015, on 11/06/2009, -1/+4RIP
- LonesomeFighter, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3why you wait so long?
- bjs3171, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2i used to think myspace was the best thing ever. then I was like "why are people putting personal profiles on that music site?"
- Chipesh, on 11/06/2009, -1/+3Rupert Murdoch, the one who wants to charge us for news on the web.
How the hell did he get where he is ?
Bob - BroodofEvil, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2You're NOT my friend, Tom.
- seltaeb4, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2I don't remember myspace ever *not* being *****.
- biggnasty, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1One down.....***** more to go....
- miaow, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1I think this market operates under the 'least worst' ethic. Facebook is currently the least worst but I find it extremely bland. I expect them all to migrate again when someone does something closer to what someone would actually like to put up
- Hayley3AM, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1haha, yeah ... i bet tom was like "awesome, but up 100,000 personal pics so i can make a gazillion dollars."
- madkinesis, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1I use my Myspace account... to point to my Facebook account.
- anumv4ever, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1My favorite is when someone tells you they have a website, and when you ask for the url they give you a myspace link. I just about go on a chimp rage every time that happens.
- miaow, on 11/06/2009, -1/+2Geocities was too complicated for most of them. Then Myspace made it possible to have their own go. Then they discovered they and their friends made rubbish webpages, and jumped ship to bland facebook.
I dont think it would take that much to stop the rot. Better templates that load easier would be a good start - seltaeb4, on 11/06/2009, -1/+2Very, very, true.
IMHO Facebook has been going downhill since they allowed applications. They had the goose that laid the golden eggs; if they don't watch it, they're going to fall as hard as myspace. - dummptyhummpty, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Same here.
- antdude, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Who's next? :P
- wilc8650, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Oh, how your name applies to you.
P.S. Save your comments for YouTube. You obviously have some talent. - yarg, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1If Google Trends means anything, it looks like Facebook "pwned Myspace's n00b" mid-2008. Doesn't look like a rebound is in the near future.
http://www.google.com/trends?q=facebook%2C+myspace - LightSpeed4, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1i seriously doubt 300 million people will migrate off facebook to another site. Its not that simple. Myspace sucked so it was easy to see it happen. facebook doesnt.
- djholybolt, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1did i not just see you use this line on someone else?
LAWLLLLL ROFLCOPTER
You should grow the ***** up. I've seen so much of your retarded ***** being posted around here it's giving me a headache. It's unbelievable that there's literally retarded people such as yourself breathing and walking amongst us on earth. For having a name like yours, I'd expect you not to fail so much yourself. You should do everyone a favor and end your existence.
you sir, have now been effectively blocked from my existance - DubWainwright, on 11/23/2009, -0/+1For bands, Myspace is still the best. We still blog and put up bulletins, but for the most part, Myspace has become a music business networking site for our band. Nobody reads my blogs anymore.
- davidron, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Can you describe to me a condition where the "best" thing isn't by definition the "least worse" at the same time?
This is the least worst cheeseburger I've ever eaten. - cosmiccarl, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1Let's face it, Facebook, myspace, even digg, are going down. Also, Ebay is not getting as much traffic, but amazon is amazing.
- chaos7, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1i can't wait until another "hip" site comes along and facebook is no longer "cool"
