- SparkyMaGee, on 12/14/2007, -0/+5Korea just released some wimax enabled mobile phones. Clearewire offers $14 for voip a month when you couple it with their Internet service. Possibly chopping a cell phone bill from 50 to 14 dollars a month sounds very attractive. Plus you can have your voice mail emailed to you.
- dizilbdog, on 12/14/2007, -0/+5We can hope, but I just can't imagine such a change in the industry. I mean to have something we want from a cellphone company. I"m hoping ,but We'll see....

- inactive, on 12/14/2007, -1/+3Could...but it won't.
- bitmanx, on 12/14/2007, -2/+4You have one company who has the balls to make it happen in the US, Sprint. That company needs some positive help..
- inactive, on 12/14/2007, -1/+2this is good but by 2013 we should have googles 700 MHz phone service and no one will give a ***** much less remember it
- ElectricGrandpa, on 12/14/2007, -0/+1I'm in Canada too, and that's actually a kinda neat idea. Now all we need to do is make a compact and battery powered wimax-to-wifi router/modem.
- lukeev, on 12/14/2007, -1/+2Sad, but likely.
- veloscaper, on 12/14/2007, -1/+2I think the magical faeries are going to have to put down the pixie dust and get to work to make this happen.
- CookieCutter, on 12/14/2007, -0/+1uh, whats the upload medium on this proposed wiMAX?
- lolo2007, on 02/06/2008, -0/+0Doesn't Rogers provides WiMax now? I have their portable internet 1.5 MBPS anywhere I go. It's in my car now with WiFi router so my laptop/iPhone can connect to it.

This is how we by pass $10 per 1 MB charges from our GSM providers in Canada :| - techolous, on 12/14/2007, -0/+0What is google's phone service going to run on?
- holiday, on 12/14/2007, -1/+1HELLO!!! Metro WIFI is available TODAY! Successful programs have launched worldwide, and no I am not talking about Earthlink and their half ass attempt at peeing on some territories that they may come back too *sigh.*
I am talking about cities like Minneapolis, Toronto, London! You can get 6Mbps for $30 a month and use it indoors or out. You can even use it while driving! Plus there is still ample room for bandwidth increases. Oh, and the fact that it is the ONLY world wide supported radio frequency and protocol. Oh, right and hundreds of millions of devices already capable of connecting world wide...
how many Wimax client devices are there?
Communism and Wimax are a Red Herring! ;) - Prodigyman, on 12/14/2007, -2/+1Doesn't Rogers provides WiMax now? I have their portable internet 1.5 MBPS anywhere I go. It's in my car now with WiFi router so my laptop/iPhone can connect to it.
