- ripstuntz, on 11/19/2007, -2/+28Whoever said there is no such thing as bad publicity was entirely wrong. Mininova -- watch your ass, you may just be getting to big for your britches.
Go ahead and digg me down if you disagree, but we all know that milestones like this only draw more attention from those aimed to end piracy. - inertic, on 11/19/2007, -1/+19Yeah, I started using it more often when demonoid went down.
- hydroplane, on 11/19/2007, -3/+20shhhhhhh!
- bxbomber, on 11/19/2007, -2/+19To bad i've been getting a refresh page the majority of the time I go there.
- Jerky1312, on 11/19/2007, -1/+12Mininova is reaching milestone after milestone lately. 3 billion torrent downloads, than cracking the Top 50 most visited sites online and now reaching the 1 millionth torrent uploaded.
- badenglishihave, on 11/19/2007, -0/+10That makes for an average of about 3000 snatches per torrent (assuming "downloads" means that the downloader leeched the file to completion.) That's quite a bit when you think about it.
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+9Ya, but keep in mind that some torrents don't go anywhere. No one downloads them. Whilst other torrents have tens of thousands of downloads.
- squirrelza, on 11/19/2007, -3/+10While we're on the subject of torrents, The Pirate Bay really needs to make a better search function.
- Homerr, on 11/19/2007, -0/+5Nothing happening here, move along, you didn't see anything, go back to your life as it was.
- OBKenobi, on 11/19/2007, -5/+10Yeah, we all know about Mininova.
*Yawn* - AlexBellisBrown, on 11/19/2007, -3/+7Im currently seeding.... god knows how many files. Thanks to everyone who makes mininova the great place it is!
- chillypacman, on 11/19/2007, -1/+5So which torrent was the millionth?
I'd like to download it for keepy purpouses, so when I'm an old man I can show it to my lil munchkins 'that there boy, is a time in history when we was free' (I also plan to grow up to be a red neck of sorts). - ThrobbingBrain, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4The RIAA/MPAA/whoever-else already know about Mininova....this isn't news to them. No one is shocked that we've held Mininova as a secret for so long...
- Topher06, on 11/19/2007, -1/+4How? The website throws more errors then torrents these days.
- ephekt, on 11/19/2007, -1/+3If you're noob enough to still be using public trackers you deserve the publicity.
- chillypacman, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2Mininova has zero tolerance on that stuff (i.e. deletes them).
sometimes spam does sneak in with some of their ebooks but nothing more than links to here or there (not even porn0. - JoelBakan01, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I'm sure the freedom haters already know about mininova.
- inactive, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2And only 750,000 of those are for "Make money online now!!.txt" and Play_poker_online.exe
- inactive, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2its not like the cats out of the bag on this one, my mom probably already knows what mininova is
- po43292, on 11/19/2007, -2/+4Seems like every time a torrent story makes front page another tracker goes down/gets threatened/disappears. STOP IT.
- Scagli3tti, on 11/19/2007, -5/+7SHUT UP!!!
- ephekt, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I don't even use torrents. I'm just saying, using a public tracker and then getting angry when it gets publicity is stupid.
- mcdave71, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2I miss TorrentSpy. There's no good sites left that have a good comment section so you know what you're downloading. That really helped clean out the crap.
- ephekt, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2If you cared about privacy you'd be using Usenet or private trackers (the kinds that don't invite people).
Sorry for the double post. - ronintetsuro, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1It's no Demonoid, but I'll take it. Am I the only one that screamed at the sky when it went down?
- Marty1h, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Swarmcast anyone?
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1Awww, too bad for the RIAA, the little *****
- Sp4rker, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Eat that, RIAA.
- cliffski, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1free to steal. yeah great.
- chrismgtis, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1I've been using Usenet for over a decade and if it hasn't been a viable place for downloading large files in that time, then it never has. It's not easy to find content on Usenet. You also need a good Usenet provider. You will find that most people will not pay to get files for free. If you're ever successful at downloading a large multi-gigabyte file off of Usenet then more power to you.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -1/+1lol @ the idiots who think a story about a torrent site on digg will have it closed down.
Don't you think MPAA/RIAA now how to search for a torrent site, ***** GOOGLE index the ***** by the millions you morons.
Tell no-one and invite no-one and you will be safe. - chillypacman, on 11/19/2007, -1/+1You sound like the little engine that couldn't... 'ah well, never did like to chuff chuff'.
- ravencin, on 12/20/2007, -0/+0you should try http://torrentsmininova.com
- ephekt, on 11/19/2007, -1/+1Is it snobbish to use common sense? Color me amazed!
- cliffski, on 11/20/2007, -1/+1but no thanks to the people who ***** made the stuff you are now distributing illegally?
.
typical pirate attitude of a kiddie. - spiritditch, on 11/19/2007, -1/+0Don't snatch.
- insllvn, on 11/19/2007, -2/+1***** snob
- Jorin, on 11/19/2007, -2/+1Care to share any URL's for private trackers with your fellow Diggers? I'd love a few invites, thanks.
- cifrancgx, on 11/20/2007, -2/+1All articles like this do is draw the attention of the likes of the MPAA and the RIAA. I expect (sadly) that Mininova will go the way of Oink, Demonoid and other torrent sites before long.
- xipotec, on 11/19/2007, -3/+1That's because of Demonoid.
- chrismgtis, on 11/19/2007, -7/+4Well, let's just advertise the fact that a million people downloaded torrents from one site. We don't need publicity. It's a bad thing. So how about shutting your mouth and keeping news like this to yourself.
Smart move. Real smart move. - sx66gns, on 11/19/2007, -6/+3WHY IN THE ***** ARE YOU DUMB ASSES POSTING THIS ***** , GODDAMMIT.
- Th0rus, on 11/19/2007, -6/+2btjunkie is a good site.
- frederoil, on 11/19/2007, -9/+4Yeah, great news mininova. Too bad 800,000 of those 1 million uploaded torrents are viruses or spam.
- 1view, on 11/19/2007, -10/+4I like btjunkie
- jolt459, on 11/19/2007, -18/+3Damn you, you beat me to submit it! :P
I don't really use Mininova much though, I still think isohunt is the best.
