- Kasot, on 11/14/2007, -2/+27God bless Mininova :)
- flangle, on 11/14/2007, -2/+27MININOVA REACHES THE TOP FIFTY.
BECOMES INSTANT TARGET.
GOOD LUCK MININOVA. - shadowspawn, on 11/14/2007, -0/+23you know, back in the day of BBS and 56k's, one didn't talk of fight club. The second a board got any pulbicity, the second eyes were upon you. Our boards hated the public eye. Wasn't always a subscriber-only type deal, but it was part of the thrill of running such things on shadow account-based PBX's. I wonder why they bask in popularity.. it's just askin for issues.
/just sayin' - mess7777, on 11/14/2007, -6/+24isn't this the type of stuff to just shut up about. It seems obvious that waving red flags and printing articles about these sites isn't helping anyone except those bastards out to destroy it.
- listed, on 11/14/2007, -8/+20Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! now bring demonoid back *****!
- monkeyboy7706, on 11/14/2007, -0/+10In the case of a small less well known torrent site I would agree. Mininova however is probably already known about by every agency under the sun so keeping quiet about it is probably pointless.
- markperia, on 11/14/2007, -1/+11in the p2p world being popular is bad.
- bladefist, on 11/14/2007, -1/+10lol if i had a penny for everytime i was dugg down for absolutely no reason whatsoever. diggers are moody little brats.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+8Burried, because i keep it real
- sexybobo, on 11/13/2007, -0/+6Would be useless with out sites like Mininova or TPB or Demonoid. BTjunkie is just a search engine for torrents. Mininova host the torrent files and run the trackers to connect to.
- Sublime059, on 11/14/2007, -1/+6*****.. I love Mininova. This does not bode well.
- freezeout, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5HELLO NEW SITE ON THE BLOCK
NEW SITE BREAKS TOP 50
NEW SITE BECOMES TARGET
NEW SITE GOES DOWN
HELLO NEWER SITE ON THE BLOCK
(repeat cycle indefinitely) - smurfz, on 11/14/2007, -2/+6Still wish demonoid would come back
- DrSpud, on 11/13/2007, -0/+4You used megaupload's 'advertise' link to cite the 1.5 million visits/day figure. People see that and irrationally think you are spamming or otherwise attempting to promote them or get people to advertise there or whatever.
- insllvn, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Are you volunteering to shell out invites?
- ThreeDee912, on 11/13/2007, -0/+3Agreeded, but BTjunkie is THE best torrent search site i've come across so far.
- chris9902, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3that wasn't a joke?
- Sp4rker, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2No this is the type of thing to shout into the face of record industry and say: "Shut up, you're done. Get over it and create something new".
For every dead pig five waffles sprout into life. - nhprm, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Is.. is that... is that retard I hear? I can't translate retard... I'm no Adam Carolla.
- giggleloop, on 11/14/2007, -1/+3 I miss Demonoid. :(
- aldenhg, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Being in the top 50 = burn notice.
- dark_helmet, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Mininova doesn't run any trackers, they're also just an indexing site. They do host .torrent files though.
- sovereign3, on 11/13/2007, -2/+4I agree. Anyone who wants to see the longevity of Mininova should bury this story.
- Werrismys, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Mininova needs more punch, it nowadays often gives timeout errors.
- bladefist, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1until it gets taken down. hope it doesnt!
- Topher06, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1Should be listed as one of the web's worst websites. What are they hosting this on, a 486 with a dial-up modem? If my website threw out errors as frequently as mininova, I might reconsider the whole Interweb thing and maybe retire from it. Oh they are busy are they? It is really that hard to serve millions of 2k files?
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -2/+3hope you guys are donating and seeding
- Ratteler, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Damn. What the number 100 tracker. We gotta keep moving to take down the RIAA/MPAA. Every time one goes down... 2 must start.
Every time one becomes a target, 2 must grow to replace it. - Kerath, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2Mininova used to be good, but mostly I just get errors there now. Looking to switch.
- shadowspawn, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2yea i'm thinking just bury this article as a show of support. Odd way of thinking to some I guess. I feel bad I dugg it.
- endora123, on 11/14/2007, -2/+3I don't see why dumbasses keep recommending that people join private sites... without listing some of them or offering invites. Lame.
- NeoNevermore, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1I see what you did there.
- 0260, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1i remember when suprnova was just starting and had only a few torrents. bit torrent was a new concept and it was amazing. now i think is the time for people to fall back into the underground and use private trackers.
- iamaelephant, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Dugg for waffles.
- Daiken, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1errr....I'd rather if the site doesn't get more publicity. As soon as all the new users start flocking to it, it'll get shut down.
- gregulate, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1agreed
- musicluv, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2best torrent site ever !!!!!
- DTXT, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0Total Atheist but could not agree more!
- darkNiGHTS, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1Mininova isn't a tracker like demonoid, it's just a search engine.
- Rezistik, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1Bye bye minova was nice knowing you...
- kualla, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1hmmmm.... I wonder if aXXo leaving piratebay had anything to do with this...
- tylerseeker, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1Mininova not mini anymore, more like Super..nova
- WhiteRaven, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1Haha... about 5 times I read the word, I thought it said Minnesota. I figures it was a joke about making it onto a list of "top" fifty states.
- kamisama, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1Since when is a .torrent file illegal?
- borchard76, on 11/14/2007, -2/+2Again, I'll bury it to say that we should keep these things quiet
- softwareperson, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0Where do I find this list of top 50 websites?
- Balath, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1Being No. 1 in the torrent website industry is a mixed blessing. Sure, you get traffic and attention, but then you get taken down. The P2P scene is full of martyrs these days.
- Unlgued, on 11/13/2007, -2/+1I hear you, cuz. Keep the low-down on the down-low.
- wrockwood, on 11/13/2007, -2/+1jesus.. digg this down already
- nicksargeant, on 11/14/2007, -1/+0In other news: RIAA, MPAA and Prince send in the Web Sheriff, six shooter drawn, to raid Mininova HQ...
