- rydawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2below a picture in the article: "Pocket-sized blades make wind power a breeze."
*groan* who comes up with these statements anyway? They should be dragged out onto the street and summarily executed - majordannyboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Hmmm... carrying around batteries or windmills... batteries or windmills... let's see. Which would I want to carry around for my electronics?"
Hmmm... Read the article or just make a stupid comment... read article or stupid comment. - Dingle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty cool stuff. I hope in the next 10 years we will have wireless blanketing the countryside.

This is not for your electronics. This is for WiFi Accesspoints. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So now packet loss due to low winds is a possibility?
hahaha, sounds fun. - jmccorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Again. "These windmills are super efficient and could free scientist of batteries or huge cables for their equipment."
- CheapDigWannbe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Animal Rights people will sue him for killing insects =)
- dhughes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 You'd think solar would be enough (yes I read the article), what kind of juice do these wifi tower bad boys need!
Using piezoelectric crystals in the windmill is different though. Interesting. - tdyer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you realize that the power was powering the sensor, not the network right.
i think a lot of peoples wetwear is broken. - farry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0IT Guy: "So, your wireless connection is gone with the wind?"
- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Scientists carry huge cables for their equipment?
- Antarctica, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That blows my mind.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What if you covered each blade with solar cells? Just a thought.
- jellzey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i can see it now, a 13 year old nerd sitting in the park surrounded by tiny windmills... this will go over super....
- Flashman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can't we just hurry up and go into space, so I can have a turbine that's powered by solar wind? Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't wait to have a little wind generator sticking from the top of my future laptop. XD
- jmccorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmmm... carrying around batteries or windmills... batteries or windmills... let's see. Which would I want to carry around for my electronics?
- ironbear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The article states that solar power was insufficient in an application which demands 7.5 mW. Seems absolutely absurd, as almost any kind of light will provide that kind of juice with a very small array. Piezo windmills seem cool, though, if the technology is more reliable than a conventional generator/alternator.
