- Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -5/+53I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Photobucket videos cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Just in case you missed it...

Oh noez my vidz of my cat is gonz! - Porsche944, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37Who gives a *****?
- BenBenMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35They forgot some crucial parts of the post:
MySpace enthusiast Candice McCracken, age 13, is one of the many outraged MySpace users who are angry with this latest decision. On a post on her blog, myspace.com/sexy_beuatiful__-_godess69lol, she expressed her concern for the latest decision. She writes: "OMG THATS GHEY I HAV PIX OF PUPPIES AND COOTE STUFF AND THAT LOL N NOW IST ALL GONE WTF???/". The comments on the post make it clear that many users are up in arms over this decision, they range from "OMG LOLLS THAT SUCKS *luv*" to "OmFg ThX FoR TeH AdD!!11! Ur PrOfIlE HaS BrKoEn PiX ThEy DnT WoRk LOL". MySpace founder Tom Anderson was unavailable for comment today, as an "unexpected error" occurred while trying to post a private message to him. The MySpace administration assured us that the error had been forwarded to the regime's technical group. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20myspace is so poorly coded that photobucket should have a fix in a couple of weeks if not days.
- aydoubleyou, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14PhotoBucket will find a way around it soon enough.
- T0PS3O, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Funny PB blog comments, showing MySpace users have a bigger problem than media hosting alone:
"dats not fair...myspace is becoming a self fish site now..."
Those damn fish sites...
"IF U LIMIT PHTO PEOPLE WILL LEAVE MY SPACE AND GO TO OTHER SITES THAT DO NOT HAVE RECTRICTONS" - jungl1, on 10/12/2007, -15/+26Another reason to close my myspace account.
Myspace is really trying hard to loose users! - Sambone67, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I really fear for our future when I see that stuff.
- buffyoda, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Photobucket just wants to "losen" the restrictions.
- dcmjzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@jungl1: "Myspace is really trying hard to loose users!"
I would say that myspace is really trying hard to use losers. - yubbob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Hopefully sooner rather than later, millions of users will instead be blocked from MySpace.
- insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Myspace has their own video section now, this will force their users to upload videos onto their site instead.
- DrewBlood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Has anyone made a complete list of Myspace-blocked domains yet? Revver is still blocked as far as I know, and I've seen references to many smaller sites that aren't allowed anymore. This is getting pretty crazy, and that fact that Myspace hasn't publicly responded to any inquiries about their blacklisting makes it even worse.
If they're now blocking Photobucket, one would assume they'd be bringing back the YouTube ban soon as well. - aldomatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6yea i agree on the sloppy code
- Andy.D, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Blog post from PhotoBucket:
http://blog.photobucket.com/blog/2007/04/breaking_news_p.html - mtalon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'm definitely showing my age now.
MySpace = Geocities = AOL
All ways for the "unwashed masses" to easily get online and disturb the techie elite. It too will either clean up or pass into the wind. When it does go away something else will take its place as the source of Net pollution. Such is the cycle of life on the commercial Internet. - jhuynh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7This isn't the first time Myspace has blocked a competitor. Remember when they blocked all youtube videos?
- Kailash.Nadh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Good. Myspace = Theirspace.
- Hayl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7The only thing that would be better is if someone wiped all of the hard drives on all of the servers at MySpace and destroyed all of their backups and then put all of the MySpace users on an island with no food and water. Dugg because I hate MySpace.
- 1773nium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4fairlystupid 0, doctorsax 1
You can't challenge a DOCTOR stupid! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They better, with 57% of PB traffic (Source: Hitwise) originating from myspace its make or break time.
http://weblogs.hitwise.com/leeann-prescott/2007/04/photobucket_captures_41_of_pho_1.html - Coven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4We should see this hit the front page soon:
BREAKING: Millions of MySpace users commit mass suicide after their profiles are devastated by decision to block PhotoBucket. - EmmSee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Amen.
This is the best news to hit MySpace in a long time. - okokitsme, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5...And the fact that it referes to "posts" as "blogs"
- sekhui, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i don't know why photobucket users are so upset, the only thing i've ever seen on PB is "image removed due to bandwidth usage".
- Sambone67, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4*head explodes*
- objc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Oh man that is funny. I should create another account just to digg your comment twice...
- smackjack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Here is a list of codes and sites blocked by myspace
http://h1.ripside.net/timmyboy/filtered.html
(note: awardspace.com is no longer filtered) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3awesome, ***** photobucket
- ceralor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Your stupid."
..My stupid what? - aydoubleyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its actually a big deal outside of MySpace's 13 year old average users.... believe it or not...
This is a setback in monetizing on MySpace... another step in their attempt to take out all third party websites from their own. - dan7600, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This comment from the photobucket blog kind of sums up the average myspace users reaction...
WTFFF!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! i use photobucket for ALL my pictures on myspace.
this f_cking sucks.
WTH?!??
Posted by: cooooo | April 10, 2007 at 10:31 PM - tomesnyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can show my age worse than that. Back in the '70s the general public latched on to the fad of using CB radios (this was before cell phones). This didn't please the elite (truckers) at all. After a while the truckers got their network back.
KAIA4383 - jordan1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Double post
- 1773nium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Too soon.
- mykos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's not akin at all to blocking third-party apps in Windows. Now, if a company wanted to install ads all over Windows, the comparison would be appropriate.
You can't advertise for free on a site funded by advertisements, and there are way better image hosts than Photobucket that won't try to violate MySpace's rules anyway. - 1773nium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I got my ass kicked once by a trucker for ***** around on a CB radio in Ohio. I still cry every time I see a CB antenna.
- rockrapdude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2is it a good time to post this? http://you.justgotowned.com/
- dasunst3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Whatever happened to free speech (http://www.businessweek.com/ap/tech/D8ODP0L00.htm)? I thought that the purpose of a MySpace is to provide a way for people to express themselves.
But for a web site with webmasters that can't code and doesn't know to have redundant data centers in the event of an outage (think 2006), what can you expect? - ThreeDee912, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1MySpace Video opens, then MySpace starts blocking other video hosting sites... Hm...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet. The less of those damned auto-play videos the better. Now if MySpace would just make it so I don't even have to go to someone's profile in the first place just to send them a message/comment.
- jordan1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and we should care why?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sounds like something they would do, next they will probably do the same with photos. Web DRM?
- mjpr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1myspace is going down!!!
- mykos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The only ones who give a crap are Photobucket themselves. Screw 'em...two big corporations scrapping for a little money.
- ravencin, on 01/24/2008, -0/+0well sometimes things like this happens at phtobucket http://photobucketnow.com
- proxypup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know it's not really related but it has to do with Myspace is Blocked - Check it out - New proxy that even allows you to watch youtube videos that might normally be blocked by your school or work. Http://www.myspaceisblocked.com
- directedition, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Well, that sure sucks. For people using MySpace that is.
