spelling actually...and it's spelled grammar. - kp3469, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9076288729387457440&q=the+office
- jabab, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18You mean genius, not genious.
- garbelini, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14@Darkoman
I hate to explain jokes. Let me just say you missed it. - neoncricket, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13I heard it was David Brent who leaked the videos himself. A little harmless self promotion and all that.
- Flooq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7If he was interested in living off one character then don't you think he would have milked The Office for a few more seasons?
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6He isn't living off of this one character. After the second series of the Office and the christmas specials, he stopped it altogether. The only Office thing he does now is co-produces the American version. He does stand-up and Extras now. I think his stand-up is brilliant.
- buckykatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm really surprised it's still up on Google, but already removed from YouTube.
- JoyrexJ9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"watch his stand up. It's total crap." ummm that's a matter of opinion.
The stuff I've seen was pretty funny. - catoutfit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Two words: viral marketing.
The consipritorial side of me thinks that Microsoft were in a contract not to release the videos publicly, then they got 'LEAKED' and voila... - InternetUser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Karl is simply astonishing
- BatFreak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5To be fair, this video has been around in the MS camp for *ages* - I'm surprised it took this long. So, probably no-one as MS thought it'd get out because it was probably forgotten about.
- tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3What a shame for Micro$oft that this was leaked.
I bet they hate being in the limelight in connection with a popular celebrity.
Just hope they catch the evil insider that caused such damage. - Dakoman, on 10/12/2007, -11/+13if only all characters from tv shows existed in real life. you mean ricky gervais.
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I think that his standup is funnier than The Office. I agree that these videos weren't as good as most of his stuff - but then if you're a comedian, would you use your best gags on a video going to a niche audience?
- hobbsy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://www.karl-pilkington.com/
:) - sjgmoney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Emerges right after the American version of The Office captures a few Emmy's, isn't that interesting. Hmmmmm.......
- Mejogid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The parent has a point - although I find him funny, his charactars are always very similar to the David Brent personna - in Extras, in his stand up and in little clips like this.
- vdxc, on 09/29/2008, -1/+2It's below the details for the first video. 'Ricky Gervias - Microsoft 2'
- cloud3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just watched both videos. While I realize it was meant to be lighthearted and have a kind of dry sarcasm, there is still a some serious "life imitates art imitates life" going on here.
- cmw72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice! Loved the outtakes at the end!
- dw2005, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4If they find the culprits, I hear prison works ...so...
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Microsoft make Mac software too. Don't be an idiot.
- NightRush, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Ricky Gervais is genious, but hes god with Karl pilkington.
- liquidizer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Can't say I liked his stand-up much, but you can't say he's been living off David Brent. He's done two major stand-up shows, one of the world's biggest regular comedy podcasts and two series of Extras (series two now in production). He's also written children's books. It would have been much easier to run The Office into the ground but they quit when they were ahead. Yes his characters are all a bit like David Brent, but that's because Ricky Gervais is a bit like David Brent. In the way John Cleese is a bit like Basil Fawlty, Steve Coogan is a bit like Alan Partridge etc.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Except it didn't. It emerged before Sunday.
- Strangers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I was pretty impressed that Microsoft of all people would commision this. I thought it made them look great, especially when Gervais talks about "Sir William of Gates".
They could be still up on iFilm too. As annoying as it is, that's where I saw them. - dloko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Search for "microsoft office video" in Google Video.
- daeyeth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah cmon, what losers. It's all in good fun, why did they have to ruin it? Afraid of bad press? Please, your Microsoft. Good job proving to us once again that no, you're not fun, you're not smiling, and you're not happy with your life in general.
- askewed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Bloody spoilsports.
- thebigman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Plus this video is at least 2/2.5 years old.
- wspence, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1yet another reason why I don't like microsoft. Just let the viral marketing do its job. Well then again it is microsoft products we're talking about. They don't need viral marketing. They already own everyone's soul.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah! How HORRIBLE of Microsoft (Hey...I have na idea.. How about I spell it with a dollar sign1 That'll make people think I am funny!) to not what other web sites to profit off something that they paid for!
Terrible Microsofot! You should just let YouTube and Google continue to make advertising dollars at your expense! - BlakeHandler, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6Typical -- why determine "who" at Microsoft thought it was a good idea in the first place? Or "who" at Microsoft really didn't think a video like this would get out? Yeah, let's get the "wrong" person in trouble!
- nostartnoend, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Odd that they'd be using Gervais. He's clearly a Mac user. There's a big ol' iMac G5 sitting right on his desk.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pretty ***** stupid thing to say given that most companies don't pay a lot of money to make a video that is that funny to begin with.
Seriously...you will never be in this position, so it is hard for you to understand. But when you pay a lot of money for something, you don't want others (YouTube, Google) profiting off it.
And you might want to learn the difference between your and you're if you don't wnt to look like a 12 year old. - bi0metric, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It was probably all the apple humpers that leaked all the videos LOL
- drowelf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Hmmm...Microsoft finds that its company isn't as secure as it thinks it should be. Now, why does this sound familiar....oh, oh, I know...becuase microsoft doesn't know the 1st thing about security. If we're curious about how the coveted training videos got out the front doors, why don't we hack into microsoft and start reading some emails. Should be easy, right....they use windows, right?
Ok, now what program was I using before I wrote this rant in firefox? Oh, right...word... - lib319, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Ive only seen the one that is linked to in the comments above, along with the out takes at the end. Anyone got a link for both the videos?
- DannyBoy7783, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0*edit*
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4am i the only one who lol'd a bit at this?
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3how long can Ricky Gervais live off this one character? Sure the office "was" funny 2 years ago and I know he's big in America now but come on...
If you think he's funny, watch his stand up. It's total crap. - AllenS, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1nice! stick it to the man.
- ROBINJW, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Glad Microsoft can podcast king afford Gervais. Viral marketing conspiracy theory - nice. You might be right. Ever heard of "piggybacks" where you ride upon someone else's buzz?
- shae, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1i watched both videos. i actually laughed one time. kind of disappointed.
- Poolside, on 10/12/2007, -9/+0Another duplicate...
- DannyBoy7783, on 10/12/2007, -15/+1Get a life. Seriously. It was completely annoying to watch you correct him.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -17/+2another grammer nazi
