- anchorman, on 05/04/2008, -2/+3This could be interesting. If Yahoo shares drop a bunch... will the company get pressure from share holders to make a deal?
- EricBarnes, on 05/04/2008, -1/+1or maybe a class action lawsuit for acting against whats best for the shareholders?

- dartmanx, on 05/04/2008, -1/+7Thank god... I really wasn't looking forward to Microsoft bastardizing the Yahoo UI library.
Oh yes, renaming it to "Microsoft UI" would have only started the pain.- EricBarnes, on 05/04/2008, -0/+2I agree. I think MS buying Yahoo would be best for Yahoo shareholders, but it would be a loss for internet users. MS would probably ruin Yahoo's many of Yahoo's services.
- danz32, on 05/04/2008, -1/+2Well I think it could have worked in the long run if done correctly, it just seemed like too much to combine all those services of the two companies (considering the prospect of losing users and an epic price to spend for Yahoo). Now, lets see if Yahoo actually follows through on their huge talking game over the past few weeks about their potential. And, Microsoft needs to get their online image together: Live services aren't bad at all (in fact, some are arguably the best out there), they just need to show it. There is nothing wrong with giving Google a little more competition
- Wiser87, on 05/04/2008, -0/+5In the end, this is definitely a good outcome. Merging both user bases would've been a logistical nightmare.
- hawk_eye, on 05/04/2008, -0/+5i'd say there is a lot more left to happen in this saga
