Microsoft Chief to Spend $1.2 Billion Fighting Google

bloomberg.com — Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer plans to spend at least $1.2 billion a year for the foreseeable future to compete with Google Inc. because the opportunity in online advertising is too big to ignore.
