- t3rmv3locity, on 09/05/2008, -1/+42Michigan, I love you.
- xcheats, on 09/05/2008, -1/+38First we got rid of Kwame, now this. I am in heaven right now.
- xcheats, on 09/05/2008, -1/+35One thing my state has finally done right for me...
- legoalert33, on 09/05/2008, -1/+34Yay Michigan.
TORRENTS TO FULL SPEED!!! - Mahoney07, on 09/05/2008, -0/+14It can't be hard to get a PI license.
- compgeek, on 09/05/2008, -0/+13like this is going to do much a PI license can't be all that hard to get first off and second off it's dirty cheap probably so for a mega corp like the RIAA it'll be like us paying 5 cents for something
- 13B1303, on 09/05/2008, -1/+10Thank you good sir! I think we all owe you a beer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Beckerman - Lewie, on 09/06/2008, -0/+9He's talking about Governor Granholm, who was born in Canada.
btw, does Canada have any jobs? I could use one.
/Poor Michigander - xcheats, on 09/06/2008, -0/+7Haha. I was just going to say, now lets get on to removing Granholm. We got rid of Kwame.
- Ne007, on 09/06/2008, -1/+8Somebody please hire a P.I. to record mediasentry spying on you on bittorrent and then sue them!
Of course you don't have to record the file that you are sharing. Sue the piss out of them. money money money money money....MONEY! - Junpei, on 09/06/2008, -0/+6I love living in Michigan. Where the snow never stops and the RIAA can go ***** themselves.
- srt4b, on 09/05/2008, -0/+6YES! Michigan!
- Squall722, on 09/06/2008, -1/+7Yep, everything else here in Michigan is sunshine and gumdrops as well!
- etx313, on 09/06/2008, -1/+7Someone hasn't been to Michigan!!! That's cute!
- kirado4, on 09/06/2008, -0/+5How many times do I have to say it.. YOU can't BREAK the law to ENFORCE copyright infringement. Now if you work for the RIAA.. say this 100 times everyday.
- G00SEISL00SE, on 09/05/2008, -3/+8i know that Canadian bitch ***** up all the ***** at least she didn't get into this
- etx313, on 09/06/2008, -0/+5Like steal money, buy Cadillacs on the citys dollar, etc? His thuggery will not be missed. Most of the good stuff was mayor archers doing.
- write357, on 09/06/2008, -0/+4I concur.
- norman619, on 09/06/2008, -1/+5It actually will. In order to be licensed you MUST follow their rules. Break them and you lose the license which means you are effectively shut down.
- rhustang, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3well, you got rid of one Kwame, but you got another one. Yeah, the one you got rid of is a felon, but the one you got can't catch a basketball worth a *****.
- xcheats, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3Agreed. But Archer was "Too White" for those south of 8 mile. He collaborated too much with the suburbs for the liking of those living in Detroit.
- IanPR, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4***** MEDIASENTRY.
You abused Rev3.. >.> - twitrock, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3100% agree
- steveoondyou, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3maybe this will save our economy..... or is that beyond even the help of the internets?
- kj4860, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4Peer Guardian.
- clsslc, on 09/05/2008, -2/+4Yeah! Whoo!
- Zedoriah, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2False Sense of Security
- secretrk1313, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2because we simply pwn.
- srt4b, on 09/05/2008, -0/+2This is sort of a half win. Most of the time they can use "Standard Op procedures" which do not require a PI license at all.
- purepremiumpulp, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2I knew this would be here, clicked on comments just to digg this
- ephemere, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2I love you too? Hmm...awkward.
- 808ethan, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Can someone smart tell me why Michigan is so important? For a midwest state, they do a lot of things and appear in the news a ton. They even are more notable than most New England states! There must be some major things I am missing, please inform me.
- Chaoticfist, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2My bad. I assumed he was bitching about canadians or some randomness. There is a lesson to be learned here. Never assume because you make an ass you of you and me. (mostly me in this case :)
- Chaoticfist, on 09/06/2008, -2/+3Wtf are you talking about. Canada has much more freedom when it comes to torrents and general freedom. Keep thinking the USA is the land of the free pal. More like land of the slaves and bitches. (no offense to Americans. I am referring more to the patriot act, unfair media laws, and the cases where Americans are sued for insane amounts of money for downloading a few songs.)
I don't deny that we in the great white north have our issues with anti torrent laws trying to creep up. BUT at the very least we have beaten down these laws every single time they have come around.
My final comment is Americans look to the North on how to fight these laws, and to any Canadians reading this get involved in the fight against Bill C-61. Down with Harper and Down with Bill C-61 and any that support it.
ps Facebook is a great place for Canadians to get started fighting bill C-61. Just look for Fair Copyright Canada. - Khast, on 09/05/2008, -1/+2Yeah, one RIAA goon taken care of...another will fill it's shoes in no time. Either that or the RIAA will sue to overturn the law. Hell, they might even hire goons who don't have licenses to work, once caught they will find someone else to fill their shoes.
RIAA has a lot of money, they will try to get what they want. But at the same time, the "pirates" are resourceful and constantly 1-2 steps ahead...so possibly wealth will mean absolutely nothing in this battle.
Oh, and one more thing. ***** the RIAA. Silly RIAA, Money is for good music...$15 is more than I would spend on 1/2 the crap your labels produce...make the CDs $2 and maybe I'll consider, for the occasional "good" song that I might want to listen to. - Ismith988, on 09/05/2008, -1/+2say that to my ISP, ***** YOU CASAIR!!!
- twitrock, on 09/06/2008, -1/+2I live in Michigan. It's true.
- bbqribs, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1This will likely happen in Texas too, because of that recent law that bloggers started ***** shards of glass over. Remember that? A recent law that 'techbloggers' (read: idiots) thought was going to require all PC techs to have a PI license? Yeah, that one.
It is applicable in this case. Under the letter of the law, MediaSentry should be required to have a TX PI license now. - yingjai, on 09/06/2008, -1/+2typical american
- buythatfromus, on 09/06/2008, -2/+2The RIAA and Media Defender are easy targets to hate but there may be other people that aren't so deplorable hurt by this law. Laws that target one company are generally unconstitutional and laws that aren't affect many that were not hurting anyone.
The RIAA is trying to use the federal government to legalize their tactics. Gov't shouldn't be involved in these matters at all. The RIAA should survive or fail on it's merits and not have laws either for or against them or their cohorts. - darkarchon729, on 01/22/2009, -0/+0I also live in micigan.
- lucomm, on 02/26/2009, -0/+0Good, before long next thing you know they can come after anyone for example for having a review site like http://www.bluraydiary.com/ that wouldnt be very nice at all
- eckofire, on 09/06/2008, -3/+2totally read that headline wrong, i thought it had something to do with license plates with the number PI on them.
- darkciti2, on 09/06/2008, -3/+2Figures it would happen in a Progressive Democratic Blue state!!!
- tomh218, on 09/05/2008, -9/+7MediaSentry just has to claim they are a member of Bush's executive team so they can break any laws they want without being penalized.
- IanPR, on 09/06/2008, -7/+3Kwame did a lot of good things for Detroit...
- darkarchon729, on 09/05/2008, -7/+3Michigan
Cons: Not a whole lot to do besides torrent anything and everything
Pros: Feeling safe after torrenting anything and everything
