- RonAcierno, on 09/05/2008, -15/+110Have to be honest, I'm not that big of a Michael Moore fan. but I think that it is great that he is doing this for his fans and that he is helping push the movie industry forward.
- kylethompson1, on 09/05/2008, -32/+106I'm actually a fan of Michael Moore, and its really awesome that he's doing this.
- diggproof, on 09/06/2008, -20/+83Screw Michael Moore! He cares about the direction of this country!
- se1zure, on 09/06/2008, -0/+32Not a fan of his journalism, but he just earned some respect from me. Well played Mr. Moore.
- trisholeary, on 09/05/2008, -12/+37It ought to be interesting to say the least!
- cuevas4711, on 09/06/2008, -0/+24except it would not be pirating, just helping distribute it.
- NathanCH, on 09/06/2008, -6/+29These comments suck.
- WilliamAdama, on 09/06/2008, -2/+23Dumbass kids stand in large crowd and start receiting the lords prayer...
Michael Moore - "Hey let me ask you a question, what would Jesus bomb?!"
http://slackeruprising.com/ - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -3/+22He actually tends to not give a ***** if people give his work away. Give credit where it is due.
- suprxtragrav, on 12/09/2008, -4/+22and yet people are still going to pirate it haha
- cadmiumpaint, on 09/06/2008, -3/+20its not so much a business model as it is a thank you to his fans for 20 yrs of support and to encourage voting...his words during a CNN interview today.
- duggdowncatisad, on 09/06/2008, -13/+25Kinda offtopic, but I'd like to remind everyone that Michael Moore is going to be on Larry King in a few minutes at 12 Eastern/9 Pacific
- pooljoe, on 09/06/2008, -12/+24I am a fan of Michael Moore and think this is a good thing for the movie industry. See a movie and then decide if it is something youd like to add to your library without first being wallet raped at a theatre in a room full of idiotic morons that think they are actually heard when they are yelling at a ***** projected image on a screen.
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -2/+13I'm sure you're the first person to use that joke.
- PeppermintPig, on 09/06/2008, -7/+17With a name like Slacker Uprising, I guess making it free is the only way to reach his demographic. :P
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -3/+13WoW, based on the comments and the history of the users making them , some force out their really does not want this film to be seen. Now my interest is peaked, ill watch it.
- FlamingYak, on 09/06/2008, -5/+14If only we could all, "know one". Perhaps if we knew one, we could truly know ourselves...
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -2/+11what the ***** are you talking about
- AJKenny84, on 09/06/2008, -0/+7anyone who signs up on http://slackeruprising.com/ will get it for free (you need to be in Canada or the USA though)
- Lane, on 09/06/2008, -4/+11this is likely due to the market base in slacking off is too busy doing nothing to drive to a theater. This man knows his stuff!
- monkiboi, on 09/06/2008, -2/+9How about instead of blogspam you head straight to the net too... http://slackeruprising.com
- bugsy187, on 09/06/2008, -2/+8Shouldn't you be somewhere undercutting your own class interest?
- inactive, on 09/06/2008, -3/+8omg!!! Stop, I'm dying! You're too funny!!! I can't contain my laughter!!! Hilarious!!!*
*sarcasm - xxxkrogoth, on 09/06/2008, -0/+5I like how it's reported he "gave up" like 1 million of his own money to make this film and give it away for free. Man, that really cuts into the 80+ million he made from Fahrenheit 911
- BenKenobi88, on 09/06/2008, -0/+4Unless the net version is lower quality than the DVD, that is a possibility.
- Pedestrian101, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6Unless the theory has been proven, yes you are a conspiracy theorist.
- thepuma77, on 09/05/2008, -14/+18@jgardner04
"...straight to the trash" Along with all your other comments?
http://digg.com/users/jgardner04/history/comments - terracottapai, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6Yeah I'm sure he's worried about damage to his reputation.
MICHAEL MOORE is worried about DAMAGING HIS REPUTATION.
Idiot. - tejas57, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6yeah i will douche bag
- jeremyosborne81, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6As opposed to politicians, who have free range on every television channel.
- slugicide, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4You haven't even seen it. It's just a documentary about his traveling around the country trying to get young people to vote.
- bphicke, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4That's why *it* is easy...
Try not to stick your foot in your mouth next time. We wouldn't want the highly educated left to look stupid now would we? - nathanww, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3I bet Comcast really loves him now.
- ChaosProfessor, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3fail: it was bomb because they were obviously right wing chistan nut jobs
- mydjtl, on 09/06/2008, -5/+8We need a Michael Moore for TV...
- Lionhart, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4love it bugsy. most intelligent comment I've read all day.
- slartibartphast, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3It's marketing, not a "gift". Well maybe a gag gift.
It seems to me having to convince anyone to vote so aggressively who aren't interested in voting, gets you pretty uninformed voters.
The best reason to vote is not the presidential election but on your local issues, those have much bigger impact. - ruforealz, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4Yeah no one would ever download a movie off the internet...
- LanceUppercut, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3It's gon rain!
- aywwts4, on 09/06/2008, -2/+5I really think calling his movies documentaries is a bit of a stretch, he isn't really documenting anything, they are argument pieces, skillful motion video appeals for the advancement of an agenda, I have agreed with a few of his movies, and disagreed with a few more, but even when agreeing with his points I knew it was heavily dependent on various fallacies to advance it's narrative.
I'm not saying documentaries shouldn't have an agenda, some of the best most certainly do, its just that they shouldn't sound like a two hour long extended op-ed narration interspersed with a few obligatory newspaper clippings, a real documentary lets the documentation tell the story with narration explaining what you are looking at. Just because a personal opinion piece rant has been made into long movie form doesn't make it magically fall into the only category that sticks, unless the documentary topic is documenting Micheal Moore ranting. - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -4/+7Looking at his wiki, he has failed on the order of a billion dollars or so. I wish I could be a failure like Michael Moore...
- GeyserShitdick, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3Sounds like a ***** barnstormer.
- YEEK, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4Wow! These negative comments about Moore and his movies are incredibly juvenile.
- pintomp3, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2certainly not me *shifty eyes*
- dagnome1984, on 09/06/2008, -1/+3Religious Left would be those new age hipsters who are very anti science when it comes to GMOs.
- Terasiel, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2*rimshot*
- Cattywampus, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Thanks! I'll be interested to see how this experiment works (and if other filmmakers follow his lead).
- pintomp3, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2unless the net version is an iso. i could see him doing that since he doesn't care if people download his movies.
- Richandler, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2I don't get it. Why would you want slackers to decide the direction of the nation...
- Terasiel, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Next: Republicans invade internet in droves to boycott the new Michael Moore film.
