- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Cool!...everybody could be "Big Brother"?
- GeoNine, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Haha..did you join Digg just to digg this story? Nice job!
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I wasn't on analpuppets.com, I swear! That site's still beta!
- xkrwlng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3that medium site kind of sucks (no offense), they should have some screenshots of how it works and all...i'm not going to just download something w/o knowing a bit more about it
- chadu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this has made the front page several times... and every time it does, the me.dium services crash and the site takes a dive.
the plugin is a cool idea, but no one on it really chats, and it slows my firefox down considerably.
i uninstalled it after 3 days of using it. - HalFTW, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Sorry, we're full!
Me.dium is experiencing a high number of users at this time. You will receive an email when your account is fully activated. Thanks for your patience. See you in Me.dium soon!"
-_- - EvilKevinRose, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Great !! Just what I need...another way to be spammed !!
- Markpdotcom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Another front page about medium... and its still not out of private beta... hmmmm spamorific!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Surfing the web has been an exclusively individual experience in the past."
msn messenger has had application sharing for how long? - thanks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2like most "web 2.0" services this screams annoying gimmick.
- turbodigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Isnt it funny, that was exactly the thing I was thinking...except replace girlfriend with friend.
- jesirose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was able to sign up :-P
- CarlosReyes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2So Carlos... I thought you said you put porn behind you?
- xptoast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be neat to do something like this but have it with avatars and people walking around in halways and have the websites be pictures on walls in rooms or something. Like if you wanted to search for peanuts you would be teleported to a halway with people looking up anything to do with peanuts and you could talk to them or walk into rooms that would actualy be a website and in those rooms would be pictures on the walls with different pages of the website and you could double click the picture to zoom it full into your browser and double click to go back into your normal avatar view where you coudl walk around. You could have a google search bar in the top right corner or something dimmed till you hover over it or something. What do you guys think?
- goodoldharris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Very cool. I think this is one of those genius ideas that hardly anyone thinks about but then looks completely obvious in hindsight. Me.dium's implementation aside, people will be doing incredible things with this type of stuff in 5,10,or 20 years.
- SvetlanaG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It was clearly mentioned in the post that Me.dium is still in private beta - invitation only. But they are launched on Demo-07 - so it's not too long to wait.
- ApeInago, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I believe that big brother is a just a personification of that which is the net sum of our paranoia watching everybody over their shoulder... Someone is watching you, its the other paranoid people wondering if you are watching them!
- bblinx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.podtech.net/home/technology/1794/demo-of-mediumcom-follow-your-friends-around-web
Very cool! But I can't sign in because it says it is currently full...
Are there any competitors to this ? - slagmacg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Enjoy
http://me.dium.com/tutorial - SvetlanaG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1We are not hear to compete with TechCrunch (it does not seem possible anyway) - Michael has a great blog and plenty of resources to support it. We are working on our blog - with our very own goals in mind. And if you take a good look, you will see that we even rarely cover the same topics.
- philbutler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is pretty dog gone creative! You should tell this to the guys at Medium! Seriously, they are very approachable and friendly. Even the wildest ideas can often be something really big.
- Endium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can do invites
- philbutler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The ancient Minoans used carrier pigeons to carry messages across the Mediterranean to Egypt about 2300 BC and we still used them as late as the 1920's too. LOL Now we can train the pigeons to follow our friends!
- juliob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Like the TV show Big Brother, there are only a handful of people and nobody cares about them.
The house is empty. Don't bother - Digcraft, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2looser!
- Digcraft, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Yet another profy *****.
Here is the thing, YOU WILL NEVER BEAT TECHCRUNCH *****. - nasium, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Looks cool, but i wouldn't use it very much. Over the top.
- philbutler, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0That is true in a real sense, but "Big Brother" is so big these days that we can only regulate him with our time and money :) It is fun to play big brother though, but then some pesky member may turn off their availability and POOOOF! We have to find someone else to watch :)
- jupzchris, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0well crap - what good is it if i cant even use it?
they are not excepting any new members
try to sign up and then login in
you will see
waste of freakin time :( - Remmy, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5You know, I used to be able to look past blog spam and never think twice about it, but within the last few weeks, I've wanted nothing more than to take these poor excuses for humans, tie them up, poor a gallon of gasoline over their heads, take a wick, tie it to their leg, and cut an inch off for every spam post I find, light it, and start the digital jihad against them.
- cathybrooks, on 10/12/2007, -31/+3Very cool company. Very cool technology. I've had the pleasure of checking it out for the last month. Great potential. You can check out what I think about it on my blog if you like - http://www.guidewireconnection.com
