- pierre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I switched to the grid about a week ago and it has been terrible so far. They say there are some bugs being worked out but meanwhile my site is down more than it is up. It is extremely frustrating. I miss the old Shared Server days... nice and reliable.
- isoceles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am in the process of updating my (ss) account to the new (gs) servers. All i have to do is hit the move button. Is there a time line in which you think this kink will be resolved?
- tinus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, my server has been down today for serveral hours and it's still down. I know there are issues with storage devices, but if you say something is redundant, it should be redundant!
- simpletext, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not ready for launch is not the correct way to encapsulate the issues we experienced. Not being ready for launch indicates/implies catastrophic failure or outage upon launch. We beta tested the Grid for months with a great team. Some of these issues arose from real world issues you just won’t find in beta, no matter how much you test. We’ve kept our staff working overtime to address problems as they arose. Moving tens of thousands of domains to a new hosting platform is a nearly impossible feat to achieve without there being some unanticipated problems, which again, we solved with massive man power and in a very timely manner.
The Grid is stable, (mt) Media Temple has also completed a great move to a Tier 4 center and are excited to move forward and lead the advanced grid serving industry.
Best,

Thanks for the comments/feedback. We know any downtime is a massive inconvenience, and have been working 24/hours/day to address and solve bugs..Unfortunately, de-bugging is a part of any new critical mass webhosting platform. We assure you the issues we've had this week in transferring thousands of domains to the Grid have been addressed.
Best,

jason@mediatemple.net - ronenmiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have had the same issues.
I guess the question is how long before this grid thing is stable enough to rely on for cirtical websites. Obviously it is not ready for prime time, and it is sad that it is launched despite the fact that it is not ready, however my question is when will it be ready? Will someone from media temple care to comment?
