- peaceninja, on 10/10/2007, -0/+41they describe digg users as going "ape *****" and also saying that digg is an "out-of-control rumor mill", which may be partially true but their company is in business of putting fake decoy content online, what hypocrisy!

- JiMiThInG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22Good site for reading through all the emails and listening to the leaked call without having to mess around with the torrents.
- merlin77077, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21Mediadefender was attempting to setup a honeypot to catch torrent downloaders. They got caught. Their emails were then published online and are now being distributed by torrent. Irony? Yes...
- atomicpoet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19This is a work of art. All the more a work of art it would be if MAFIAA got the same comeuppance.
In any sense, it looks like we have an interweb war. Let's bring in the tanks! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18do you work at mediadefender?

- DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Lol, try again. It's online.
- norcalscan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The phone call about 2/3rds in is hilarious. VOIP call getting eaten by the bandwidth of MD's own app communicating back to their servers from New York. I manage a VOIP system and unless it's encrypted, WireShark can sniff any VOIP call with ease.
- applecarriage, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4he probably signed up for it knowing that they would release the email and he would get some very mean messages in his inbox ;]
- Mudcrutch, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Can anyone summarize the entire story here.. I think I missed the first part of all this hooplah.

The owner of mediadefender-defenders.com edited certain files to protect MD. Take a look at www.mediadefender-defenders.com/xlsq7AbgRGD19.xls
If you want the unedited files get them from http://thepiratebay.org/user/MDDefender/ - Floris, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I mean, if they go to court and win in court and the hackers go to jail .. mediadefender is still looked upon as the loser here. I wish everybody the best of luck in their little internet-war. Instead of watching Idol, I look at this show for my entertainment.
- Floris, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Works fine here? try port :8080 as alternative
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I do think that you should have remove the Social Security number and other personal information too but I think I'm being too kind with them...
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+2Hey, I hate Media Defenders as much as the next guy but I wouldn't want to see them go ass up. They're a company with employees who earn a living. I would like to see them stop ***** around with our beloved BitTorrent trackers, and maybe continue finding paedophiles and such. Piracy is not a crime (imo), but child pornography is.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Actually, I don't think the company is is business any longer.
There is no way they can recover from this and still keep any shred of respectability or trust with their MPAA/RIAA masters. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Hahah! This is great. Thanks.
Now I don't have to mess with the torrents. - phyzome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Some folks are worried about their IP address being harvested when downloading the torrent of emails, but know they can proxy the website through Tor.
- o0JoeCool0o, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4BAHAHAHA Serves them right, I hope there company burns to the ground.
- Monk22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2its so much trouble to click a link then drag the file to thunderbird to read the emails
- mistafreeze, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2lol
- j00fek, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3no workey
- phyzome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but they *suck* at security and privacy. So... I wouldn't trust them to do the job right.
