Courtesy of Urban Dictionary :D - pixelperfect, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I find it fascinating finding how popular saying come from.
Supposedly "getting out on the wrong side of the bed" is from "bed side toilets" in the old days..getting out on the wrong side made for an unpleasant day. Even though the popular version is English superstitions in the belief that it is unlucky to put your left shoe first, or to walk into a house left foot first. - GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yea, Stonedonkey, then you'd find out that the phrase "Penis penis vagina penis" originated in the 666th century when William Shatner married Thomas Jefferson.
- pahoehoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'll give "B" a shocker anytime.
- bizchris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3***** a B, it's got two holes.
- nikebud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3anyone ever heard of Cockney rhyming slang? was reading up on it earlier, and Little Britain (and most britcoms) are making a lot more sense now http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cockney_rhyming_slang
- Flare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Find the meaning of this popular phrase.
"Kiss my ass; pardon my french" - itsxtian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Bar hair day
Meaning
A day on which one's hair seems unmanagable. Also extended to mean a day when everything seems to go wrong.
Good to know... was a little confused on that one. - LordSkywalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3*****' A.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2can find good use of this site when you are desperately seeking a 'smart' comment to make on digg and get some hits.

favorite number - MrTea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I thought it rooted from middle english from what was "*****' aye (yes)" which is like saying "***** yeah" or "***** yes."
- coldfusion1970, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Noooooooooes, you've decoded our secret code!?!?
- Felton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man, I was just thinking about this site earlier today, but forgot the link.
+digg - mojaam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This should be recommended to all U.S foriengners. It can be really helpful even though people should be smart enough to kind of understand a phrase.
- StellarlyAstral, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I want to know where ***** A came from. I've heard it means ***** Acid, Acid meaning another word for cool.
- 21.0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Someone should add this library to Wikipedia
- emoj0388, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Actually I think the entering the house with your right foot predates the english. After a Roman couple would marry, the husband would carry the wife over the threshold to ensure that she did not ***** everything up by entering with her left foot. Which is also an interesting origin, seeing how romantic it is viewed today and the basis of it was that of supposed female stupidity.
- HiddenPeanuts, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a really interesting link. Thanks!
- bradleyland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I wonder how the site would do if they opened it up wiki-style. And implemented a full-fledged message board. I think that would be hot : )"
I all likelihood, it would also be grossly incorrect. The problem with most of these sayings is that people constantly misunderstand them. - chembro84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yeah it always seems funny to say the "most offensive" word in the English language (*****) and then follow it by a letter, as if anything can get worse than that. I wonder what the true meaning is.
- marc26uk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1god forbid
- praveenmarkandu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OMG, it finally explains "How now brown cow?"

- Photar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1At least one of the explanations was wrong for the meaning of a phrase. A wiki version of this would be leet. Is there something like this already in Wikipedia? I know they have a wiki dictionary thing. I'm too tired to check it out right now though. Someone make one though please.
- Exfactor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I guess there's no mirror yet, but the Internet Archive seems to do the trick. Here's the link: http://web.archive.org/web/20060502042125/http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/index.html
- nikebud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2me and my buds in the 8th grade, in the 80's thought it meant "***** ass"... ah well, good times.
- buckinflazed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0One of my favorite phrases around Boston is "Calm your liver!".
Origin: A funny ass kid who told his (probably drunk) father to relax...
Calm ya Livah!
Makes me laugh every time I hear it. - BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1can someone tell me exactly what "***** and A" means?
