Apparently he wasn't burglarizing the home but "staying" there for a short while.
Meaning he don't have a home and needed somewhere to stay so he would not
freeze to death out in the snow. - dstart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=burglarizes

If he was meaning any harm he would have taken the valuable stuff and sold it to ge money.
Meaning he's no druggie, just happens to be in a tricky situation.
Hope things work out for him. - CptnObvious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1LOL thats great.

- hiro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Burglarize - another sign that the USA is slipping inexorably into illiteracy. GWB has a lot to answer for!

- HarryBauzonia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Howdy cr3ative!
Glad you got my joke. Thanks for responding.
Yeah, I'd join you for a cup of tea. Too bad I'm not in England to do it though. One of these days I intend to get over there and visit, but right now I'm just a poor redneck paying down a mortgage. - MrC539, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"The verb burglarize is from 1871. Burgle (1872) is a hideous back-formation." (http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=burglar). Not sure how accurate that site is, though.
- Jozer99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wish people would submit better summaries. The burglar did not hit one house, but many, not only checking his email, but preparing himself meals, watching TV and DVDs, taking showers, and changing into people's clothes. The burglar also left without stealing electronics, antiques, or money. Eventually, he dissapeared with someones car, and has not been found, although the police believe the know who he is from the email fiasco.
- itsmrdumass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"they knows"
How the hell did this journalist get a job or the editor for that matter? - TechDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now Yahoo can help the police to catch this criminal !
- karch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe he did it on purpose, and logged in a hijacked email, thus directing attention to an innocent man.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0obviously he's not that dumb, since he hasn't been caught yet!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whoever wrote this article isn't very good with the English language neither is he with typing it.
' ' instead of "
"Man sought in burglaries during which man ate, used computer"
"Dale Schmidt said investigators believe they knows who the burglar is..."
"The burglaries occurred between Feb. 2 and Sunday at homes..."
This guy is definitely not an amateur. Why would you leave so much evidence behind? Trying on clothes, moving things around in the fridge/eating things, watching TV/using remote, etc. - tysonkam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kewaskum is not far from my house. It's one of those towns where you get looked at funny if you're "Not from 'round here." I bet they know exactly who did it.
Yet another story to make Wisconsin proud. - Rogee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0La Crosse Tribune... Automatic digg. Damn I miss college.
- soylent2oz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know that guy!!! I'd name him here but then it would be shame to embarrass his family any more than they already are!
- gh3tto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He's a homeless transvestite. He just was looking for car keys so he could leave the land of cheese.
- levyjl1988, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Funny and Stupid, the many reason I go to digg.com other than the cool hacks and other interesting stuff and facts. ROFLMAO :P Dugg

- alexonix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I knew a kid a while back who broke into a house, then sat on thier sofa eating yogurt and watching TV. He later realised a that two police men were standing behind him watching..."
rofl... did he get away? - Bigopinion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ all the "burglarize!!?" comments:
Did you read the article title?
"Man sought in burglaries during which man ate, used computer"
So, if I'm not too rusty on my subject/verb agreement (and trust me, I'm not), he ate the computer *before* he used it.
My sympathies to whoever should be sacked for writing this. - deadlychicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"@HarryB-
We usually say "Burgles"
Fancy a cup of tea?"
Could i get a scone with mine? - Spaztic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would sign him up for tons of spam!!!
- FarcicalFart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Dale Schmidt said investigators believe they knows who the burglar is..."
Do they proofread? - r3zonance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"@cr3ative --re: Burglarize
That's the way it's spelled in the dictionary.....
But Brits and such spell it Burglarise I guess. Y'all are cute that way."
No we don't spell it with an 's'. We use real words, such as "burgle" which was perfectly adaquet.
Dumb American's, making up a longer word so that they sound more intelligent. - TechnoPops, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Of course, the article just says that he checked his e-mail and left it open. It doesn't specifically say police or anybody else actually took advantage of his stupidity in order to pinpoint him. I just think it'd be funny if it never occurred to them to use that information to catch him.
- zoltan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that is hilarious, happened about 20 minutes from me!
- xodex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I feel bad for him, At first I was like... -_- such an Idiot..
- p014k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow. Moron.
- r3zonance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not like the person who "burgles/burglarizes" a home is called a "burglarizer" is it!
Hence, the word is burglar. -
