Hope you all enjoy it. I tried to get as many Diggerisms in there that I could think of. - pmace, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21My lame attempt at a diggnation strip:

- WhiskerTheMad, on 10/12/2007, -10/+27DIGG THIS COMMENT IF YOU THINK CAPS AND BAD SPELLING SHOULD BE BANNED
/irony - G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I second that, half of the comics in the gallery are complete crap.
This service has a lot of potential. If the developer spends some time getting more images in there, as well as a spot to import your own images, as well as color things it would be a big success. - koonchu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11This isn't technically a cartoon, more like a comic strip. I at first thought this would allow us to make our own animated clip. But it's cool nonetheless.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13In soviet russia cartoon makes fun of you.
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9very nice. Hopefully they will add uploading images at some point

less Web 2.0, more color, variety of art
also uses English better, better community, la la la la this comment gets buried - semperlepidus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10This is frickin' cool.
I wish that the digg principle applied everywhere. There is a gallery of comic strips, but no indication of which ones are good.
Digging would be especially helpful on Google Video, any podcast directories and flickr. - Spazkake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6People can just be so unfunny. Browsing through the archives hurts my brain.
- cheez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5comic life rocks for mac, but pretty cool for doing it online
- MCHampster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Awesome. There's a lot of funny, random strips in there too. This will keep me entertained for minutes!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It'd be cool if it was open source. I'd like to use my own characters in it.
- gnatinator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3woot check out my comic

http://www.stripgenerator.com/viewEng.php?id=101750 - PsyX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3+1 to you sir. But one has to keep in mind that it's not too far along yet. It still has some "growing" to do. I think it'll only get better till' the creators get bored of it.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Haha that pwnz
- joshthejest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is pretty schweet...
- Jonathan.C, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3amazing site, i love it.
- fourfive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, This was on cammandN. Crazy person can't even get a good site for themselves.
- cleverboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is neat. I had an idea like this once, but I've yet to follow through on it. I like sites like HeroMachine.com ( www.heromachine.com ), where you can customize the character. There used to be a neat toon face generator on Windows that would have been nice if it were redone as Flash. Uploading your own character lineart would be a nice trick. I think apps like ComicLife and Manga Studio could be done online with Flash and made as "online" services. For some strips, that'd be all the cartoonist needed to churn 'em out.
- Zman771, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7worst. description. ever.
- EricTheGrey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is pretty cool, however...
In order to make a comic, you need talant, and humor. I have neither. :P
EtG - dustPuppy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Very Nice.
digg - Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Web 2.0? This ***** is done in Flash, it'd be better if it was done in Web 2.0
- pfister_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, I don't think they should be banned. I do think that the submitter is a lazy ***** and shouldn't be rewarded with a front page story. But 1123 people disagree with me.
- el_taco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4that was pretty cool. definite digg

The Deadliest Weapon - serra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's some funny ones on there if you look around. Even one about Donnie Darko. :)
- johnsmart, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2awesome tool. Flash developers getting without jobs!!! :)
- cleverboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1cneil: "Is there a way that I could save these as gif's of jpeg's"
That would be the real kicker. I bet they could add it to the website if the author took some time to work it out. I think I've seen someone do Flash->JPEG/PNG before. Not sure.
On the MacOS it's easiest. "COMMAND SHIFT 4" will get you a screen grabber utility (you see cross hairs you use to mark off the comic strip area) that immediately generates a PDF on your desktop. Double-click on it, and using the menu "File>Export" it as JPEG or PNG. Done.
On the PC, make your browser window so small it only contains the comic strip. Then hit "ALT Print Screen" (which snapshots the current Window to your clipboard). Open "Windows Paint" in your accessories. Hit PASTE. Agree to make your "canvas" bigger (if it asks), and your strip should appear. Click the dotted-square (or "marquee tool") in the upper left. Select your cartoon, and go to the "Edit" menu, and choose "Copy To..." and save this out as a 24-bit BMP file. Open it again and use "File>Save As..." to resave it as a JPEG file. All set.
Hope that helps. - navinjohnson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1maybe he should have used a 'description generator' instead...

- rajendran, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Hi All,
Bringing this thread back to life 1 yr and 136 days later!
With good reason too!
You asked for color, you asked for more characters, you asked for less crap, you asked for a better social network, you asked for a kidsafe option.
They are all here at http://www.toondoo.com , the online full-color drag-drop comic strip platform good enough even for the non-artists among us!
Give it a spin!
Rajendran.

http://www.toondoo.com - CubiX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great stuff. The guy who drew the characters etc (Sigmund) is actually an awesome artist. A rising star so to say ;) The bunny with cross over his mouth is one of his most famous creations.
