Similar, but grounded on your desk. - joshwehatetech, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7How is this any different than using this thing on a PC and using the software that comes with the mouse? I have used these before and the whole point of the mouse is that you can use it "like a wand". Must be that it now works on a Mac....
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Great find, QuickSilver is a great app with so many uses I don't know what I would do without it!
- joshwehatetech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The mouse is actually a nice presentation mouse since you can hold it while you move around. The gestering part I am sure will get old after your friends see it and give you a pat on the back. If you want to get a good idea on how the wii controller works though, check out the mouse. From what I understand they are using the technology that this company developed for the controller.

http://www.duggmirror.com/technology/Mac_Quicksilver_Gyro_mouse_=_Magic_wand_for_your_computer_/ - t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Same stuff's been on the mac for ages too. It's not in any way new - just the article telling you how to do it is.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You do realize that this means you make motions in the air (meaning the mouse isn't grounded on a desk).
This article is kind of worthless though, because your movement through 3D space is still sensed as 2D by the software, so you might as well use standard, easy gestures. This is just needlessly complex. - Zm3r3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Arrghh Digg affect err . . . in effect!
Anyone got a mirror?? - arono, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Quicksilver rocks. I think I'll stick with keyboard triggers though.
Now what I'm really waiting for is an iSight gesture recognition plugin! - speedyrev, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Controll your computer using a magic wand and you'll end up looking like a fairy.
- bryanweatherly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I use Quicksilver everyday, but I've never used any of the plug-ins, and had no idea about the abracadabra plug-in. This works great even without a gyro mouse.
- willistg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Download and install USB Overdrive. *Restart*. "
WTF??!!?? - MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Same stuffs been on the PC for years. Don't act like this is something completely new.
I even saw a nintendo power glove mod on digg that did this.
To be quite honest even though the people i've seen do this (even at my college) were all using PC's. You can pretty much do this with any sort of computer that accepts a mouse.
This is still kinda neat (a wand) but i'm not a fairy and neither are most of you i suspect. The power glove is a better idea for this. (Waving your hand as opposed to waiving a wand.)
What is this? nobody is going to use this?!?!
meh. - pauldonnelly, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1This is pretty lame. How is air mouse+lame gesture input software+additional driver so great? Isn't there anything easier to use? There is if you're running Windows, but I don't know about Mac OS. And why the Gyration mouse? It's a cool mouse, but it adds nothing to the gestures. Fun for FPSes though.
Anyone on Windows who wants mouse gestures should try out StrokeIt -- and you won't have such a difficult time of it. - corygump, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Now all I need is a magic cloak :)
- igraham09, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1KICKASS!... now only if i had the money... Dx
+digg btw - SilentPurity, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1You Got PWNED! =D
- collywolly, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0Crap.
Oh no, its on a Mac.
OMG! Wonderful! Amazing - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+0This was made so long ago, April 23, 2006
- fartingbob, on 10/12/2007, -18/+2This sounds like a fantastic way to waste money and make something overly complicated with no practical benefits other that "it looks cool". Just like the Mac your told to use then i guess....

What is Digg?
