- cardmagic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15It took us at mog a long time and a lot of hard work to come up with all these new features, I am so happy you guys like them.
- Mootabolife, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12As a fake representative of mog, I would like to thank you for all of your support as well.
- circa1950, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Trying to be helpful? "Last.TV is better" does not sound helpful to me, it sounds like an opinion, and not a very interesting one at that.
If you are allowed to state your opinion that "Last.TV is better", why shouldn't the next guy be able to state his opinion that your comment sucked? Or because the great jacko1990 (how old are you? 17? going through puberty huh, tough time in life) spoke, now it is beholden on us to digg up your comment?
If you really wanted to be helpful you might list the reasons you felt Last.TV was better. For example:
- Last.TV doesn't allow you to specify a particular artist to watch
- Last.TV doesn't allow you to watch movies based on just your friends' music collections
- Last.TV doesn't allow you mix and match to watch only a particular artist in your friends' collections
- Last.TV doesn't allow you to click a link about the artist or track to get more information or buy that music
- Last.TV doesn't show you from who's music collection the video is showing from
There are 5 compelling reasons to use Last.TV. Who would want to do any of those things on MOG TV? Certainly now one can see why Last.TV is better.
See, that is being helpful, if you care about stripping out features for no apparent reason, you would now agree with me that Last.TV is better. Well, now that I have been helpful it is beholden on you to digg up my comment. Thank you in advance. - KirinDave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4People who say that music videos on youtube are there illegally need to get informed. Music Videos are promotional content, and as such are legal. iLike and Mog both provide youtube video support not just as a way to see a cool video, but to provide a full sample of the song.
It's very weird to me, as a rational human being, that distributing a song by itself is illegal but the song with a video stream is not, but that's the music industry for you. - KirinDave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's kind of fun to watch the people who don't understand what mog is make blanket statements about what mog is. :) How long before iLike takes their youtube support and does this, or last.fm tries it?
Comparisons to Clinko and Pandora make almost no sense at all. But there are no grapes like sour grapes. - kodoTM, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Congrats to MOG. Everything about their product is brilliant and has been since day one. If only I could blog better! I wonder whether they rushed this out to get to the market before Last.FM got there.
I'm in music heaven right now - decent updates to last.fm (events) excellent updates to MOG (video) and finally the Mac version of The Filter comes out. - KirinDave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's pretty cool to see my music collection mapped to youtube. It's startling how much of it actually exists there.
- jeremyonfire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Kupo!
- navarroj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://mog.com/watch
- RegalBegal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I've been a mogger for a while now. It's great to see the site evolving like it is.
http://www.mog.com/regalbegal - nunbot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1so they can become myspace?
- arulprakashar, on 02/18/2009, -0/+1you can do the same kinda youtube mash up in many other networks like http://indianbee.com
its exciting but not everyone has the time - slugicide, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Pandora: A less-useful, soon-to-go-out-of-business version of Last.fm.
- cardmagic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You might find this interesting since you seem to have some misconceptions about youtube and music videos.
http://www.youtube.com/blog?entry=3xDEdJmPDI0 - Soldan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1as soon as we see a more complete catalog of stuff.... like some 80's hard rock and metal then i will be all over it.... headbangers ball this aint... 3 band and multiple this video is no longer available...not lookin good...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Neat link, but a deal with Warner does not represent all bands, nor can you deduce that this is some sort of harbinger for change. Counterexample: U2 is on Island, and their entire collection is on YouTube without permission.
Services built on piracy, overtly or not, are not something I can get excited about because it's constantly a cat-and-mouse game that eventually wears you out... - forgiste, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I just hope MOG forms a parent company and goes public.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Great... now the copyright holders of those videos on YouTube (you didn't possibly think they were LEGALLY there!?) can get them pulled down even faster. Cheers.
- jacko1990, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well apart from the fact that you are pretty much wrong on every count, then fair enough.
You can control pretty much which artists you see via your last.fm profile -and anyway as I said - MogTV is almost in every way a direct rip off of the Last.FM web site anyway - and Last.FM have had this on the cards for a long time.
And yea, you know what, screw it. You can look at whatever you want - I am not so insecure that I can't handle a conflicting point of view without telling someone they suck because of it.
You want to imply this is 'innovative and new' - well sometimes you know, it is possible that you are just completely wrong and sometimes it isn't such a bad thing to pay due respect to the people who got there first.
I do think Last.TV is better - because it plays back my own personal Last.FM profile and soon enough Last.FM will extend their service to cover video too anyway, which will pretty much make Mog irrelevant. (Last.FM already have a much larger user base than Mog).
Anyway I am literally ***** sick of digg.
What happened to the old days when you could just have an opinion and it was no one else's goddamned business what you felt or thought one way or another?
i don't give a crap about all of this popularity contest sh*t. You like what you like and I will like what I like. Otherwise I suggest you just bog off. - DaBrainiac, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Mog.
- 40bslove, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2same could be said if you compared last.fm , to lets just say itunes. my point is radio is dead , if the Internet wants to fill that void of music discovery i would much rather have it through different means ways
- daitalianmick, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1WOOT FOR MOG!
- B4202, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Mog On!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It amazes me that there are stil people like you who think that by posting your unrelated submissio's link in other sites, it will HELP it get diggs.
You just basically made sure that your submission will get buried before it gets even 5 Diggs. No matter how good it may be, the fact that you SPAMMED a front page story will guarantee you that no one will digg you. - jacko1990, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0You know what, on reflection I wish mean mouthed ***** like you would just die.
- stillasleep00, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Best friggin' website on the web
- whatevrnvrmind, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1mog rules
- jallspaw, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This is excellent!
- jacko1990, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0....
- jacko1990, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Oh, comeon, don't just digg people down like a pointless fool. Try it out and see. It will play video from your entire Last.FM music profile back to you - and if you don't know what Last.FM is, well more fool you.
Most of the ideas on this site are a direct rip off of Last.FM - and Last.FM plan to add video feeds shortly too - and they have a much bigger catalogue. - jacko1990, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2You know that's what i don't get about digg, people who digg people down for providing useful helpful information.
Like hi, 'here is a useful and entertaining alternative which you might enjoy.'
I mean go ahead and shoot me for trying to be helpful to you why not?
I am all for digging stories. But digging comments up and down for no particularly good reason really is just frustratingly dumb. - jacko1990, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Last.TV is better.
