- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5lakawak, if all search engines will turn up the same results, why are you being so rude? emceepecks was just stating the search engine he prefers, and I think he has a valid point in that Yahoo! is a portal first and a search engine second while Google is a search engine first and a portal second.
If he wanted to suck any part of Sergey, I doubt he would go about it by writing a comment on digg. I'm just wondering why you were so up in arms if it doesn't matter so much. - 7thCommander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The Windows Live site is fairly good, I like the general simplicity of the look and the RSS functionality is well implemented. Pity there doesn't seem to be a way to remove the redundant [read more] links.
Can anyone recommend a site similar to Windows Live that combines searching/bookmarking/rss effectively? - unloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't think Yahoo is that afraid of Microsoft in the search field. They've been working on it for five years and still have nothing to show for it.

try this instead.
http://www.blackboxsearch.com - KB1775, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its good to see competing companies develop strong products that users can enjoy. However, my guess is that Google will come up with some new ideas of their own and join in the fight for dominate local search engine.
- ABBondo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is smart for Yahoo and Live to try to compete with Google before they get too big...Ohh, wait. Google is huge and is the only thing that I use when I search. Google offers ease of use, reliable websites, and is quick. I don't see these new additions pulling me away from Google. However, if Yahoo and Live want to catch up or surpass Google, they had better come up with some extremely creative ideas that would revolutionize the search engine scheme.
- gabeN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I use Google Local search almost every day for work. I think it's about time there was some competition. Here's hoping a rising tide will lift all boats, or at least float mine!
- tomi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is rather amusing, Windows Live is partners with Yahoo for Messenger, but competitors for search.
- RonaldLewis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I use all of 'em -- they're useful for navigating a global network where humans have a set of eyes, ears, hands, and feet. It's a jungle out there -- ya can't do it all alone.
- Yarps, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1BlackBoxSearch is great! They even have plugins!
http://www.connorboyack.com/blog/black-box-firefox-plugin - CarzorStelatis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2They might have all sorts of shinyness, but when compared on the reason you actually use them (ie the SEARCH), both suck horribly in comparison to Google.
- emceepecks, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6When I want to see my horoscope, I'll use yahoo. When I want to actually find what I'm looking for, I'll use google.

- bradp25, on 03/08/2009, -0/+0Yahoo personals: go to http://www.fanatstic.com/ . For Yahoo shopping carts and hosting, check it out! If you're looking to hook up, that's the place.
- talledega500, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Find something on Yahoo? Youre kidding right? Levis ADs maybe.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Sergey will never let you suckhis dick no matter how asinine you make yourself look "defending" your precious Google. The FACT of the matter is, 99% of users find exactly what they are looking for on ANY search engine very easily.
