aftervoice.com — Check this out, type in someone's phone number and write a short message, they call and repeat your typed message in an artificial voice. Several voices there to choose from and you get "spoof" the caller ID to display anything you want.

    • loserhead, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2yeah i was using this service a few months ago without all the pretty colors. most ppl have no idea wht an IP is so they just hear numbers. this is useful for making death threats. its even better when you put in an enemy's humber as the caller id.

(Note, because the company is doing this at your request, they aren't responsible). More, if you're stupid enough to call a cell phone.

      There's a reason they keep a log of iP addresses.

  • pwherry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The behavior of the caller ID component is the interesting part of this demo; there's some information leakage here. Where I live (Verizon territory), the display number is passed along but the display *name* comes from a database lookup. I tried calling myself using a couple of known-to-be-unlisted numbers as the "display number" and got correct name info for all of them. This also worked when I sent calls to my Vonage number.
