- mikeod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like a lot of money being wasted.

- thegrouch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1can someone who works at google confirm if this is how work really is for the addverge google employee?
- underpants, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good god! The last holdout of the dot-com work ethic. GEEEZZ. Simply ridiculous. Makes me wanna go back to Yahoo! (though I bet they're just as "pampered")
- mcadoar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and zillax0rz, 80% of us are nice, thoughtful geeks. the 20% that do most of the posting are the "weekend geek" types that only serve 2 days a month and 2 weeks a year in the geek squad. they do most of the mean-spirited posts. don't leave because of them.
- PurpleMeteor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Life inside Google? I have a life outside my job, it's better than working for Google all day long because I'm free to do whatever I want (even... NOT working for example!) I'm beginning to hate Google.
- spy1325, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sounds like what i wish i could everyday.. except they get paid to do it..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Holy *****, I've been registered about a couple days and I already hate the posters here. Y'all are mean-spirited jerks!
- Macintosh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks nice.
- mcadoar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I work in an IT department and we were happy just to get new chairs...
If I can now just get on the Songbird or Firefox or Thunderbird or Seamonkey or whatever dev team and get google to notice me, then the remainder of my life will be heaven.
Of course, the odds of that aren't in a PHP coders favor. *sigh* - ZoomBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Trust me, this isn't what it looks like. I used to work at an internet company obviously nowhere the size of Google but quite large for what it was. We had tons of toys, relaxed atmosphere, 20 pinball machines, coffee rooms, you could leave work for a bit to do whatever you wanted, etc.
In the end, what does it matter you're getting paid to work not get a massage. These little "perks" are offered, but your bosses are still watching you. Go ahead and play with that RC car track there lady, your last day is tomorrow.
Hasn't anyone read any of the blogs from ex-google employees? That place is in reality a hell-hole, I'd never want to work there. - zaid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1no cats? ***** that.
