- Skurt, on 03/16/2009, -1/+11"Update: Lenovo said the notebook is described as an "experiment" from 2007 that, following the earlier leak, the company decided to show in more formal shots. It argued that the Pocket Yoga is "finished" but added that the company is always designing new products."
And at the Engadget site;
"Update: The mystery is solved, folks. According to Johnson Li, the director of Lenovo's Beijing Innovation Center, the device is a two-year-old laptop design concept that features a leather exterior and detachable keyboard."
In other words, this product is a concept piece that will not be sold, so don't start your drooling. - thickdrummer, on 03/16/2009, -0/+8Ultra-wide? Understatement of the ***** century.
- roflmcwaffles, on 03/16/2009, -0/+6Lenovo is sitting on a gold mine here. I'd definitely buy one if they ever made it.
- The5nowman, on 03/16/2009, -0/+6Sweet. A true pocket PC
- madhollywood, on 03/16/2009, -1/+6I think that you might need to be a yogi to operate one, but this gadget/netbook looks amazing.
- requiem4themind, on 03/16/2009, -0/+4I would definitely buy one of these. It looks like the perfect device to carry around to do some writing in random places.
- Kardde, on 03/16/2009, -0/+4When it gets to that size, doesn't it sort of leave "netbook" territory and start to enter "really big PDA" territory?
- AceyS, on 03/16/2009, -0/+4The one aspect for me that would justify getting a netbook or mini notebook to complement my laptop is pocketability. Right now it doesn't make sense carrying around an *almost* fully functional laptop in a bag that I could just as easily use to carry a 13" or 15" full on laptop.
- maximumstats, on 03/16/2009, -0/+3yea, Yao Ming's pockets...
- SohailKhanifar, on 03/16/2009, -0/+3While not there yet, its a step in the right direction.
- gridbread, on 03/16/2009, -0/+2I like what I see so far, I'd probably add it to my want list, along with the Raon digital Everun note.
- inactive, on 03/16/2009, -0/+2I would accidentally take a bite in this thing thinking it's a chocolate bar.
- compgeek, on 03/17/2009, -0/+2This looks amazing I would so want one just for being able to actually have it in my pocket
- HonoredMule, on 03/17/2009, -0/+2Do you eat a lot of chocolate that smells like leather and plastic?
- Frostek, on 03/17/2009, -0/+2You must spend all day gagging.
- brokencode, on 03/17/2009, -0/+2Electronista? Wtf is that.
- themastersb, on 03/17/2009, -0/+2Hopefully if it were released they could get it down to the netbook price of ~$500. i just bought a netbook though so i won't be getting another one anytime soon.
- HonoredMule, on 03/17/2009, -0/+1I think it makes more sense to classify it as some kind of netbook/laptop as long as it has an integrated full qwerty keyboard that can be used for normal touch typing.
- Depthfunction, on 03/16/2009, -0/+1In theory, I like it; in practice . . . I don't know. That screen looks awfully small.
- SirZRX, on 03/17/2009, -0/+1if they have released that sexy little thing 2 years ago, they would have lots of moneys right now
- jcannonb, on 03/16/2009, -0/+1Ditto!
- robbiedo, on 03/17/2009, -0/+1Ten years ago, I bought an NEC MobilePro 750c. There were a variety of others which were basically all ideas ahead of their time. All except for one: the Psion Series 5mx (awesome piece of engineering), who incidentally put out a the very intriguing product called "netbook" long before they became fashionable.
- BionicPimp, on 03/16/2009, -1/+2hmmm...that doesn't look like an apple logo on there...how could something this cool *not* come from apple. sarcasm aside, nice job lenovo. I think leather is going to be the new aluminum.
- kd1s, on 03/17/2009, -0/+1Same here. But I think the next big thing is flexible touch screens.
- inactive, on 03/16/2009, -1/+2Why not? If it's a popular design, Lenovo would be foolish to not make something out of it.
- supergeek13579, on 03/17/2009, -1/+1this is more of a comment on the sony version of this computer, but the lack of a mouse on these sorts of netbooks make the sort of people like me who can use there whole computer without touching the mouse, just using keyboard combos, the real winners.
- proverbs17, on 03/17/2009, -0/+0Might be good, depending on where they price it. I think the Sony one is priced at $999 or so, so that is never going to fly.
I guess that I would buy one for say $150.
By the way, could the website have a little padding around the text? - escrimador, on 03/17/2009, -1/+1Yeah, it's cool looking and all, but... "Pocket Yoga" is just one more instance of the west bastardizing a misunderstood practice from an eastern culture, for profit. It makes me want to gag.
- inactive, on 03/16/2009, -3/+2Sexy, yet cute.
I want one. - lostngone, on 03/16/2009, -3/+1Will the "Pocket Yoga" come with "Pocket Pool" installed???
