- mt066, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21I think this is a neat concept because I like to find new artists and that can be really hard sometimes. But I think it would just devolve into MS pumping your zune full of whoever gave them the most advertising dollars.
- lalalalamppost, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13"The Social" and "Squirting" are such ridiculously stupid terms. Microsoft needs a brand new marketing department.
- thehurricaneuk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13i love my zune... fortunatly i managed to talk my friend into buying one (we are both in the uk) so thats as much of a social as ill ever get from my zune. i suspect this will require a zune market place subscription. shame cant get that over here, would be cool if they opened it up to napster
- Fixthemedia, on 10/10/2007, -8/+16I like my Zune.
- Indy16, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Just, no.
- G001, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Um, that's not new for a portable player? And I suspect if they do implement this, it would be like TiVo's suggestions where they only take up empty space. If you need to record something and it's full it automatically starts overwriting the suggestions.
- FredSanford, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It gets worse, Zune 2 will have a "squircle", whatever that is.
- ogremidget, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The best thing that could happen to Apple this year would be for Microsoft’s Zune 2.0 to be a kick-ass product, both technologically and in terms of being designed to make customers happy, not entertainment conglomerates. Apple needs competition.

- flessa, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I have a Zune and Id take it over an iPod video/iPod classic/iTouch any day. Oh no! Its not the social symbol of society like the iPod! Who Cares! Im a GEEK. I care about the raw performance of the device, not what others think, and Zune fits that bill. The battery life is superior, the screen is larger and can be turned on the side, the screen and the body of the device is much more rugged, and has a better GUI imo, then the iPods. The Zune software isnt very good, but I just use it for a sync every once it a bit anyway. People just like to piss on Zune since its a Microsoft product. Im not a Microsoft fanboy by any means, hell, Vista + RAID did not turn out pretty for me. Ive reformatted the bug infested piece of crap called Vista about 5 times in the last month...
p.s. im off raid now. - colonels1020, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4The more I see Apple turn the iPods rotten, the more I actually want a Zune...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6Launched 3 years too late, I'd say.
- clickmyface, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6So basically the original "Social" didnt work, so they are going to force people into it this round? Ahahaha. No, thanks, pass.
- thomasprebble, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't think you can even put anything to do with Microsoft and the word "social" in the same sentence.
- Renuvian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Not really at all, no.
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Where it stops being "neat" is where they monetize it, i.e. microbill you for every damn thing you do.
- haid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Social Disease?
OK, I couldn't pass that one up. But forced distribution is not the way to go. Looks like another form of advertising to me.
I vote no. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That's funny, it didn't take me any time at all.
- whisperedlie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't care about it automatically pushing down music according to my preferences... i care about being able to select my own music to put on it without the software crashing or ***** up for one reason or another. the software is what killed the zune. i'm going to wait to examine the latest ipod gen, let it shake out a bit, but there is a good chance i'm going back to ipod soon.
- Chesh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I might get crucified for saying this, but that actually sounds like a neat system.
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That was sarcasm. Jeebus is everyone incapable of detecting sarcasm without the /sarcasm indicator these days?
- JlmAWP, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2I have to give props for the title. Took me a second, but bravo.
- vastrightwing, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3but M$ forgot to mention that this feature would only work with a subscription, under a different patent.
- insanebrain, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2OMS .. you are paying for music. . .
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Why did it turn out to be anti-social ? The Zune is fdoing as well as they expected.
- BamB00, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1screen is not larger if you compare it to iTouch. I really like the iTouch(iPhone) GUI, and for software... if I have to choose between Zune software/iTune, I rather have iTune. Seriously the wifi that MS is selling in Zune is pretty much useless.
- austin63, on 10/10/2007, -10/+7Pandora?
- sherbertbones, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1That title is about as punny as Rosie O'Donnell's superfluous 3rd nipple
- canthraxp, on 10/10/2007, -10/+2"pushing crap onto my zune". Pushing crap onto more crap? Is that even possible?
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -16/+7Way to innovate MS... One has to ask, if you're always playing catch up, why try? Ugh.
I guess the fact it has a radio, and you can beam songs is cool. I also suppose that if I can turn the feature off (incase I don't want you pushing crap onto my zune and taking up space) it's ok. Just do something new already will ya? - insanebrain, on 10/10/2007, -14/+3no you don't
