Latvia’s Largest BitTorrent Tracker Shutdown, Admins Arreste

torrentfreak.com — Much to the disappointment of more than 100,000 users, Latvia’s largest BitTorrent tracker has been shut down by the authorities. Following a joint operation by Lativa’s Economic Police and a local IFPI-affiliated anti-piracy agency, two administrators were placed under arrest.

    Lampa launched a campaign a few years ago which basically explained how piracy is stealing and now file sharing is stealing...
    It's ***** up how Orwellian this whole thing is - how they can take the users database and then get after the users from the file sharing server... It's ***** up on so many levels and we don't really have any freedom activists here...

    Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. My advice is to go under multiple aliases, share your stuff through multiple usernames.

    Forget about glory and fame and use your brain. Unfortunately the content industry is reacting against all this piracy in the completely wrong way (read: lawsuits), and you've got to be practical about it.
