- SilenceIsFoo, on 04/24/2008, -4/+78I'd hate to meet Trump Cat, though.
"Oh hai. Ur fired!" - chris9902, on 04/24/2008, -2/+31"Lolcats became an Internet craze last year."
Somebody doesn't spend all their time on forums. - Sonhja, on 04/24/2008, -1/+27I like how the guys last name is Huh.
- rentmitchum, on 04/24/2008, -3/+29Longcat has a long resume.
- KingDork, on 04/24/2008, -12/+37Might want to get that first years paycheck upfront, given this fad will be dead in 2 more weeks...
- iguanapunk, on 04/24/2008, -3/+24I can has ambishun?
- WriterSD, on 04/24/2008, -2/+15I really want to see what those applications look like!
- inactive, on 04/24/2008, -7/+19Best quote: "Oh HAI I'm still on the internets, being old and kind of annoying at this stage."
. - xOKxWhy, on 04/24/2008, -1/+12I understand being a janitor is hard work and all, but don't diss the position.
- aladrin, on 04/24/2008, -3/+13Some lolcats are really cute and funny, but others are amazingly bad. I have to wonder if that correlates to the ability to spell at all... For instance, does the ability to think also give the ability to weed out bad lolcats? Does it give the ability to self-censor and not post total crap?
I think he's wrong about the 'traditional methods have to be thrown out' crap. I think he'd find his best candidate by using those methods first, including looking at the artists prior work. (And this IS art, like it or not.) And then the traditional interview will allow him to see whether the person is likable and has a good sense of humor.
Hmm... That's pretty much all traditional. - sequethin, on 04/24/2008, -1/+10u can haz pink slip.
longcats resume is long. - GumdoMike, on 04/24/2008, -2/+8In related news, I hear a position just opened up at the Dancing Hampster website
- MsArtGeek, on 04/24/2008, -0/+6Not that there's a strict correlation between education and intelligence (education can nurture intelligence but not create it where it doesn't exist), I question the grip on reality of anyone who thinks LOLCats is about being smart, or that everything has to be.
- ethekwinigirl, on 04/24/2008, -1/+6I guess there's a niche for everyone!
- dlrudden, on 04/24/2008, -0/+5the water cooler conversations at that office must be dreadful
- _wayne_, on 04/24/2008, -1/+5Ever late to a meme, this is one of the websites I visit nearly every day. But I love cats. I officially love http://www.cuteoverload.com also. Not sure I'd want to work there, but it definitely brings a smile daily.
- SilverBack101, on 04/24/2008, -0/+4I can't imagine what the meetings are like. Everyone talking in Lolcat. Brrrrr.
- wildmXranat, on 04/25/2008, -0/+4Moar diggs is teh funzors !
- Naidel, on 04/24/2008, -1/+5uh? LOLCats have been around on the internetz forever. Or at least since a 100 years ago.
- maxyRO, on 04/24/2008, -5/+8Just one comment in lolcat? I would have expected more so far
- inactive, on 04/24/2008, -9/+12I bet you they will make more money they I do, which is ***** stupid.
- MsArtGeek, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2You could not have illustrated my point better. If you disregard education, background, personal circumstances, life experiences, past/current/future career moves, "street smarts" and any and all other reflections on their estimated level of intelligence, and still decide someone is stupid on the basis of one solitary preference which YOU happen to dislike, well... that's self centered at the very least, and definitely in the running for stupid.
Ceiling Cat will forgive you though. - howzitgoin88, on 04/24/2008, -1/+3Err... What?
- inactive, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2Interesting stuff I found on BlogAds.com. They charge $800 a week for one ad-space. There are 8 ad-spaces on the site, so that's $25600 a month from one ad-space. They have 3 more... So they're probably making 100k a month from advertising right now... Never mind a janitor, you'd have to be a high-flying CEO to make more cash than that...
- rentmitchum, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2I'm not a cat.. Unfortunately :(
I can lern lulzspeekz? - MsArtGeek, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2Oh? So I take it your cat's spelling is perfect? Guess I've fallen behind the times with my cat's technology....
- Mutton, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2http://www.lol.cat
- gn0stik, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2SoulJah.
soul.
jah.
It's Rasta, or at least a nod to it. - Action54, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1flu kittehs in your haus drinkin your sodas!
- beskurrd, on 04/24/2008, -1/+2LOLcats make me LOL, you guys just make me :-|
- MsArtGeek, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1interesting. do you get hungry when they ring the bell, too?
- bagboyrebel, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Cat ownership is not required, just "a great sense of humor, a deep understanding and love of the Internets and a strong work ethic."
if the person has a great sense of humor then why would they work with lolcats? - robbiemuffin, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1anyone else discover for the first time that yahoo has advert-spam shortcuts inline in their content now?
IZ DESPIKABLEZ - GoonPowerX, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1Ben Huh over what?
- laserblazer, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1This is how d00ds used to talk before there were l33ts and lolcats, youngens.
- BobsYourUncle, on 04/24/2008, -2/+2How's this? I question the intelligence of anyone who likes lolcats, regardless of their education, background, personal circumstances, life experiences, past/current/future career moves, "street smarts" and any and all other reflections on their estimated level of intelligence.
My grip on reality is firm. I never said lolcats was about being smart, or that everything had to be smart. I said people who like them are stupid. Nice try though. - Bersy, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0Huh?
- MrViklund, on 04/24/2008, -2/+1Spell...
- Sonhja, on 04/24/2008, -1/+0Ben Huh is the founder of the site.

..................................., - ThirdPrize, on 04/24/2008, -5/+3So, the internet equivalent of Soljah Boy is hiring? How is this news?
- BigMan13, on 04/24/2008, -3/+1Ugh. The bad grammar and spelling drive me up the wall. A cute picture of a cat doesn't make it better.
- inactive, on 04/24/2008, -4/+1sick burn bro
- joongee, on 04/24/2008, -3/+0Eh. I was under the impression that caturday preceded the usage of lolcat (I HATE this term for some reason). Anyway, not dugg for the overexposure of a once-funny-but-now-jaded meme. Mainstream is where memes go to die.
- s0nicfreak, on 04/24/2008, -5/+1Internet memes are officially not funny anymore
- howzitgoin88, on 04/24/2008, -7/+3Your comment
Funny? Nope
Original? Kinda, but not enough to warrant digging up
Informative? Nope
Dugg up? Nah... - newsLinux, on 04/24/2008, -12/+6i be hapi on job az long az i getz cheezburgers!
- BobsYourUncle, on 04/24/2008, -8/+1I question the intelligence of anyone who likes lolcats, regardless of their education. It's ***** stupid.
- GNAAstaos, on 04/24/2008, -10/+2Except jokes are usually funny.
