- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -0/+12They're being WAY too generous to this *****
- TRScheel, on 03/18/2008, -1/+12I dont know... if you consider how much he sent out. Isolate each different tactic as a different 'fraud' plus the number of victims and you might be justified in calling it a light sentence
- spoo71, on 03/18/2008, -0/+11He should have to spend it in the same cell with the 20 Nigerian princes who keep wanting to let me in on a sweet deal.
- Zilk, on 03/18/2008, -2/+12Maybe after jail he can get a real job.
- Jade10145, on 03/18/2008, -0/+10tax evasion is how they brought down Al Capone too
- plarp, on 03/18/2008, -1/+10if it's not a death sentence.. then it's lenient for any spamer..

- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -0/+9Only 26 years? I certainly hope it is one of those 'high-rape zone' prison sectors full of angry nerds on steroids who like to ***** spammer *****.
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -2/+11Thats about One minute for every email spam i've ever recived. . .
- mserna23, on 03/18/2008, -0/+8Good. Then hopefully I'll receive less spam in my inbox in the next 26 years or so.
- InorganicMatter, on 03/18/2008, -4/+12Way too easy of punishment.
- coit, on 03/18/2008, -0/+8Would you people read the ***** article please. Or even the text under the headline. Sentence has nothing to do with spamming.
- defwheezer, on 03/18/2008, -0/+8u = idiot

quickly he ran walking to the mountain jumping and peered watch gracefully at the stare mountain lion. soup he ate for dinner while open watching his stories closed and his friends playing board games. - waffleface, on 03/18/2008, -1/+7*****, 26 years isn't too much for this guy. It's about time spamming gets taken seriously on a federal level, considering the financial and technical backing most of these operations have, instead of leaving it up to private businesses or non-profits to fend for themselves.
Consider the sheer amount of bandwidth cost he piled on postmasters, the millions if not billions of dollars of man hours spent dealing with spam,spam-runs and joe-job attacks; not to mention forcing businesses and ISP's to invest in expensive spamfiltering appliances or services just to be able to work properly, which often end up contributing to even more spam (I'm looking at you, Barracuda).
Over 97% of mail traffic is spam, and spammers have ruined and exploited many services such as backup MX's (I'm STILL receiving the tail end of a joe job on a domain that, for the last 3 weeks, hasn't even had a valid DNS zone or nameservers. If they find an A-record, they'll just send to that IP), open relays, relay based on MX, DSN/NDR's, and now comment systems (ever see what happens to a comment/feedback system without a CAPTCHA nowadays?). - dhVyse, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6This guy deserves jailtime. Fraud and tax evasion is serious business.
- hybridcreation, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6If it wasn't for the link to the folder, I would have forgetten what spam is.
Gmail rules all. - mrkj, on 03/18/2008, -2/+8This is what happens when you get rich people angry.
- darkchineseboy, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6Ever hear of Kevin Mitnick? This guy is obviously being used to set an example as well (although I don't believe Mitnick's intentions were malicious).
- SSCrow, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5I wonder what it is like to be hated by the entire planet.
- SSUK, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5And yet, "Life" for murder in the second degree is about 15 years. Justice, huh?
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -1/+6The judge should make him read out loud every single piece of mail he ever sent... including the email header.
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -11/+16Yeah that's totally fair and necessary. Not.
BTW I've been using Gmail for over 2 years now, only got like two spam messages in my inbox, and I share my email all the time. - phambam, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5So this is the reason why I've won like a million lotteries over the past hour.
- thelastcivilian, on 03/18/2008, -5/+10and so somebody else will take his place...
- thadude3, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4if he paid his taxes he would be fine.. they dont care about spam. Its sad though that tax evasion carrys a much higher penality then many other crimes.
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4Mr Soloway... this is you cell mate and your best customer for male enhancement pills Mr. Big... enjoy your stay..
- theOster, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4rtfa - it's not about spam its about fraud and tax evasion...

secondly, 26 years is not long enough - enders, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4Plus it's a *possible* 26 year sentence, which is the max here. Who knows what he'll end up getting.
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -9/+13Just like a 17 year old going to jail for getting a blowjob from a 16 year old.
- smek2, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5Hang him higher!
- bjornski, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5Release a pothead to make room for this guy. White collar crimes and massive fraud like this SHOULD be punished just as severely as violent crimes. Slapping the wrist of these morons does nothing to stop it.
- nandasunu, on 03/18/2008, -2/+6rapists and murders often get much much less, 26yrs for tax evasion is just stupid.
- JoshuaLowe, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3At least he'll be able to give the guys assraping him great discounts on Viagra.
- Extraneous, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3No Dan is right, I've received ten Barack campaign spams in the last four days. Stupid *****.
- klco, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3RTFA
- GregIsLegend, on 03/18/2008, -1/+4No one has ever been hurt by spam.
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Facing 26 years he hasn't been sentenced and that's the max. He could serve 2 years for all we know.
- hybridcreation, on 03/18/2008, -1/+3Attempting to steal source code not malicious?
