- SVOboy, on 03/05/2008, -18/+513That is just ***** disgusting, I cannot understand what's wrong with some people in this world...
- Remmy, on 03/05/2008, -23/+469When I first read about this last week, a few red flags went up.
1. Why was a 25 year old woman bringing teenage boys in to her home?
2. Why was there champagne involved to begin with?
Now that being said, these pricks still need their dicks cut off. - MillionsLivio, on 03/05/2008, -2/+389I dislike how her and some of the others attached with the case are blaming Youtube for the video incident. They took it down, they cannot possibly monitor everything on there without crippling the site or having a massively unneeded staff. This is an isolated case. They took the video down once it was reported, yet they continue to blame Youtube, "I don't see how Youtube could let this happen". I am not belittling what happened to her at all, it's a shame, but it almost sounds like they are blaming Youtube and calling for more internet censorship than the attackers themselves.
- inactive, on 03/05/2008, -5/+330"Kids see mum raped on YouTube": inaccurate. They saw it in person.
- satanswetnipple, on 03/05/2008, -26/+201Watch your knee jerk. Once you take out the bad reporting we have these facts. A sexual act happened between a woman and three teenagers she invited into her home. She drank alcohol, and possibly supplied alcohol to minors. A group sexual act happened and they were all videoed. Her children were heard crying in the background. She did call this a rape and report it to the police. An undetermined amount of time later she heard roumours of the videos circulating.
Holes in her story. She invited them to her home with at least the intention of drinking with them. I personally have never been invited to a woman's home after dark for drinks on a platonic level unless I have known her for years. Women often use alcohol as a social lubricant step to sex. She was completely conscious of what happened, but she does not call the police and tell them she is raped. If she was drugged, the drugs cold be found in her bloodstream at this point. She was concious, so she knew the videos were taken, so anyone who was raped would have further reason to call the police. She only complains about the sexual act after she hears rumours of her reputation being damaged because of the videos. I have had experience of women saying absolutely anything to protect their reputations. If you have any real experience with women, you are bound to find out just how far they will go to protect their reputations.
She may have been raped, but the evidence the story produces suggests otherwise. It is not a good thing to vilify men on the claims made by a woman who has every reason to go to extremes to protect her reputation. You never know, the next guy falsely accused may be you. - allfatherblack, on 03/05/2008, -29/+175I have no sympathy for rapists (and almost none for bigots). I hope only the most terrible things in existence for the people who did this.
- Akaji, on 03/05/2008, -30/+157I know... why would someone do something so absolutely horrible as posting a duplicate article! Not only that, but less than 10 days before the original article!

http://digg.com/world_news/Teen_gang_rapes_woman_p ... - dnev, on 03/05/2008, -14/+140Remmy, I'm with ya. I'm also having a hard time understanding why a 25 year old girl has 2 kids and is drinking champange with 3 teenagers. It's a really strange story. Little bastards still need to be arrested and prosecuted.
- DRINKxREDxBULL, on 03/05/2008, -3/+78Its sensationalism like this that will lead the regulation of the net.
- inactive, on 03/05/2008, -15/+65Where's the vid??? I wanna check it out.
- reaper527, on 03/05/2008, -2/+52why should we censor youtube? if people want to put evidence on the web, let them. i'm sure that video will look great in court when they catch this guy and he's standing next to a video monitor of the video, and no one has any doubt it was him.
- BrutusCirrus, on 03/05/2008, -11/+61Please die.
- Rikushix, on 03/05/2008, -3/+51Rape is a horrible, horrible offense, don't get me wrong, but what exactly has youtube done wrong here? It was up for a bit, and then it gets taken down after it gets reported. Furthermore, she goes on to say that it needs some sort of "flagging system" where people can get it removed as soon as it's posted. No, users do not have the ability to flag for "immediate deletion" but we can flag for inappropriate content and as soon as it gets flagged for that a moderator would notice and it would be taken down anyway. Besides, letting users have the ability to flag for deletion is (I think) probably not a good idea and would lead to widespread abuse.
It really is awful, but the thing I don't get is, she didn't report the gang-rape until "she had heard that it was on Youtube"? Pardon me, but what the hell. Clearly she is traumatized and I do not blame her but maybe if she had taken some action against these criminals earlier the video in question might not have been posted on a popular video sharing site in the first place. - inactive, on 03/05/2008, -9/+55It's sickening. Video pls.
- phybere, on 03/05/2008, -0/+44FTA: "Three teenagers - two aged 16 and one aged 14 - have been questioned by police over the attack."
So let me get this right, you have two witnesses (even if they're young), video of the rape, and they've been "questioned"?
For some reason I suspect there's a lot more going on here than the article mentions. - allfatherblack, on 03/05/2008, -29/+71Please dig this to generate publicity, as terrible as it is.
- patrickrho, on 03/05/2008, -19/+59already posted on digg
http://digg.com/world_news/Teen_gang_rapes_woman_p ... - MillionsLivio, on 03/05/2008, -5/+44I had the same initial reaction as well, different cultural views on alcohol aside it still seems rather odd. Apparently they were introduced by a young neighbor, but it still seems kind of foolish that she let a bunch of teenage boys in her house by herself with her kids present.
- skoobisnaxs, on 03/05/2008, -9/+47That damn You tube. They need to stop raping people. I feel like I get raped every time I click the "uuiU" link. Why cant I learn?
- Dylson, on 03/05/2008, -6/+42....as if watching a puppy get thrown off a cliff wasnt bad enough.
- ronintetsuro, on 03/05/2008, -2/+36The incident is beyond bad, no doubt. But there's some odd factors involved. I dislike how YouTube is being vilified here. There are plenty of people who work hard everyday trying to find ways and reasons to censor the internet. Pull the video, issue an apology, and be done with it. YouTube is in no way responsible for this content being uploaded, the user is.
- satanswetnipple, on 03/05/2008, -28/+62Yes, why would a journalist write up such a disgusting piece of trash that vilifies three people on the claims of one person. A person who did not go to the police after it happened. A person who possibly invited three teens back to her place to possibly offer minors alcohol, had a group sex act, did not report it to the police while she had evidence in her bloodstream, and only claimed rape some time later when she heard that her reputation was being damaged by the videos that were taken of the event.
The journalist is real gutter press to write this up as if the three had already been found guilty. If the police do some investigation, they may find evidence on her computer... social networking group sex sites, or google searches weeks later of what a date rape drug effects are.Someone who has experienced it, will already know the effects of the drug, so why look it up?
The evidence given does not support rape at this time. The woman has a lot to gain by claiming rape as her reputation can be ruined by the videos. - choopie911, on 03/05/2008, -3/+36Weakest most obvious roll ever. Try harder.
- inactive, on 03/05/2008, -4/+35Theres alot to this story that doesnt add up.
People have already commented on her having the boys over and champange... but I have to wonder why they arent in custody on rape charges? "Police are questioning them"... doesnt sound like they have a strong case for rape...even with the video... Im not so sure this was rape to begin with... - cambob76, on 03/05/2008, -2/+32I believe it was a poor use of grammar. Maybe it was meant to be "On YouTube: Kids See Mum Raped"

No, youtube undelete does not work on this one. - maduin, on 03/05/2008, -1/+25Most rapes that occur happen between people who are either friends or are already acquaintances in some way. Trusting someone shouldn't make the victim to blame.
- colonelbuckshot, on 03/05/2008, -5/+29South London is full of teenage gangs and knife and gun crime. Another reminder to stay the hell away from there

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/3035357.stm - unorginalityftw, on 03/05/2008, -2/+26Wait... wait... wait... Even in the presence of reasonable doubt we should cut their dicks off?
- Torx, on 03/05/2008, -2/+26sounds like a ploy to further "moderate" youtube.
- greyexplosion, on 03/05/2008, -14/+35This is terrible. There is just simply no punishment which can fit this crime.
- sockpuppets, on 03/05/2008, -2/+22TAKE THEIR CAPS LOCK KEYS AWAY FROM THEM!
- TalenGTP, on 03/05/2008, -0/+20Unheard of! They made a law against guns, so why aren't these lawbreakers heeding the law! Oh...right...lawbreakers.
- inactive, on 03/05/2008, -5/+25Ok, I feel bad for the woman, but this isn't YouTubes fault. YouTube didnt rape the woman, plus they took the video down when they became aware of it.
- dvsbastard, on 03/05/2008, -3/+23No one, no matter how apparently questionable a situation they have put themselves in EVER deserves that... But also don't be so quick to judge the boys either... Has there been any formal investigations / charges laid?! Not yet... Is it possible that she has claimed rape in hindsight, to what was at the time a consensual act?! Possibly...
I am not defending these guys, but I am just saying don't be so quick to crucify them either - until we know the truth...
And believe me when I say these things DO happen... - airburst, on 03/05/2008, -6/+25You're defending them with the same information. What's the difference?
- daborg, on 03/05/2008, -5/+24"Someone who has experienced it, will already know the effects of the drug, so why look it up?"
Because you're not sure whether it was a date rape drug or something else. Confirmation it is a basic human reaction. - control98408, on 03/05/2008, -7/+26"The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence. "
- veeto, on 03/05/2008, -1/+20Alarm bells started ringing. It's not the story itself but the way the article's put together.
First off the title is very miss leading: the kids did not after all see a video of their mum raped on YouTube.
Second, the video has "sparked calls for the video sharing website to be moderated." Oh really. Who exactly is calling for this moderation. My first thought was surely this video will aid prosecution.
But then I noticed a link for Fox Sports at the top of the page. Little more digging, and guess who owns NEWS.com.au.

Aaah, I get it now. - MillionsLivio, on 03/05/2008, -7/+26There is also the whole mental instability from the rape that you are completely overlooking. I am also skeptical of the story, but many women do just want it to go away and not let it be known. When the video came up, that obviously violated those feelings and then caused her to try and get them taken down. I have no favored sides, nonetheless that aspect must be taken into consideration
- Sidonas, on 03/05/2008, -3/+20Don't get feeling too good about yourself as you sit and turn a possible victim into the criminal. I've taught women's self defense classes for rape victims. The completel loss of self esteem and the sense of abandonment and shame that these women have is horrible. Going to the police is not the gut reaction, keeping silent because they are afraid and feel dirty and sick is the gut reaction.
Go out, help someone recover their sense of personal safety and rebalance their life after being raped, then stand up and tell us all how you feel about the situation. You're missing the trees while trying to look at the forest. - capiCrimm, on 03/05/2008, -5/+22It probably didn't get to the front page, though. Wait whats this? It did. Well then no one probably saw it. Over 2 pages of rick rolls and video requests you say?
- Gryffydd, on 03/05/2008, -1/+18Gun crime? But guns are illegal, right?
- MillionsLivio, on 03/05/2008, -3/+20They most likely did that, if you read the original article a week back the local police contacted Youtube when it was found, so they most likely got the IP. Not only that but they already had the kids for questioning apparently. Cut Youtube some slack, they followed their policy and acted professionally. As I said in an earlier comment, this is an isolated case and it's rather sickening and odd how the attention is going to Youtube rather than the actual attackers.
- fxu1989, on 03/05/2008, -2/+18Probably wants to sue Youtube and get some compensation (read: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)
