  • Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11You may as well set it up as a category anyway since the only other option is to ban NSFW content (someone would have to police) .. if you throw in a checkbox you can be sure there will be folks who forget/ignore the box and throw the porn up in a link you can't flag.

    Personally I think this is a stupid idea since it pushes the site even further into the abyss of one line descriptions and posts on a subject that can't even be argued in the comments ... its just too subjective to determine what is a good (I mean amazing) photograph. If I want photos I look based on the theme I want to shoot and gather images for inspiration ... I don't want "random celebrity picture of the day" or "look at my amazing HD setup!!!" ... I can get that ***** in the appropriate forums and sites like Yahoo.

Blogspam and ad-whoring can now be brought to the pages of those who don't even have the imagination to come up with a few pages of forgettable text? Now I can take a picture of an interesting but overall bad subject (like stained glass through a greased filter or something) CALL it something completely different (driving up curiousity) and then rely on the fact that thumbnails often give a completely different impression of an image than the full size image and then drive tons of traffic to a site with a absolute bare minimum of effort?

    Sounds fun ... enjoy it.

    BTW - I wouldn't do that because I'm not a prick ... but expect others to. *****, they do it now.
