saw it before the digg article, but funny how they opened it with Kevin drinkin... rest of the episode was pretty boring with them just talkin mainly about Viacom vs. Google/Youtube.

Granted Alex and Kevin made it more interesting, but at the same time I thought they came off as kind of cavalier. "We're the credible, cool geeks. Look, we wear t-shirts 24/7 and drink beer during panel discussions." I dunno. Just my opinion, blasphemous as it is.

Either way, I'm sure cranky geeks has its audience, but I'll stick with diggnation for entertainment and techcrunch(+various other blogs) for actual information.

When you think about it, Dvorak is a smart dude and he's very informed because he is in the business longer than anyone else I know (read: he has tons of sources), so saying something stupid on Crankygeeks is just straight out stupid, 'cause Dvorak is a true crank and he WILL release ***** if necessary. old gay fart - b0b0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1crankygeeks is a great show, but it tends to be a little boring whenever there isn't great chemistry between the panelists. It's true, most of the people on the show aren't really involved geeks, but they are very reputable industry analysts, and while diggnation may provide specific insight into a particular topic, crankygeeks gives a bigger picture of the technology industry. And given, Dvorak clearly thinks too much of himself and sometimes can lose himself to his "expertise," but everyone else makes fun of him for that. The better crankygeeks episodes usually feature a foil for Dvorak; the ones with Om Malik are awesome.
