- WinnemuccaMac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+163Here's hoping that Kevin's friend doesn't get fired over his/her NDA.
- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -6/+158netburnr: You idiot, that's exactly what he said.
- TROGDOR42, on 10/12/2007, -2/+79Digg does not allow the submission of articles on the Diggnation website, so the translation was a way to get around that.
- digger_twit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+62Ok, here it is:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3463346182677886862&hl=en - primehifi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+67I'm sure if he actually "let it slip" they could of edited it out afterwards before releasing the podcast. It isn't live after all.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+50I just dug you down to show you exactly how people censor each other here to weed out the idiots and get rid of annoyances. We are the ones who do it, not the owners of Digg. And we will continue to do it, because we're the ones with the power.
- DJSdotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33Or when he was completely right about the iPod Nano, including the name?
http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2005/09/20050905223121.shtml - andrewcod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32If anyone wants a good, brief summary, here's a MacRumors article on it.
http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/12/20061203094854.shtml
(Also, if anyone wants to listen to the mp3 podcast, the bit about the iPhone occurs at around 38:30) - BaldMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31And let me guess, it has a Caps Lock button?
- IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -12/+36Because it was probably already submitted, so he needed another link.
- Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24That is the best post I have ever seen on the entire internet.
- gfnw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19"YES IT HAS WIFI DRM 4GIG 4000 SONGS"
Wow, I think you may be getting ripped off if you're paying for DRM songs that are only 1mb each in size... - thegreyfox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Proprietary? More then half the phones sold are proprietary.
- digger_twit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17 l will post the clip to Google Video.
- TROGDOR42, on 10/12/2007, -17/+34http://www.diggdown.net/ has all the downloads for the latest episode of Diggnation.
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16STFU. It isn't even released yet and you're calling it a rip of your ***** mobile.
After your last three comments, 2 of which all in caps, you're on my blocked list.
Thanks. - ever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Wow.. Here's a hint: The article is about iPhone, not about wiiboy's Nokia N91.
What's wrong with your keyboard?
"YOU WILL SEE WIN IT IS OUT THAT IT IS A RIP OFF ON OF THE NOKIA N91"
And for all this time I've felt like an outsider on digg, being Scandinavian and all.. Suddenly you appear with that crazy vocabulary of yours and make me feel good about myself :). What a great day.
What's the point of getting a phone with mp3 capabilities when you obviously can't type and I've a bad feeling you can't speak very well either. You would've saved a fortune had you bought an iPod and some crayons. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21Dare I ask.. why the translation?
Direct mp3 link:
http://sjc.videos.revision3.com/diggnation/0074/diggnation--0074--2006-11-30--high.mp3 - ocram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14The entire iPhone segment:
http://www.ocramc.com/diggnation-iphone.mp3 - ibeetle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14With all due respect to Kevin I do not care if God himself posted something on digg about anything Apple does. It is inaccurate until Steve Jobs walks out onto a stage and makes the announcement.
Until then it is only a rumor or someone's opinion, making any truth to come out of it completely dumb luck. - sidp, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18This would be the best thing that could happen to the cellphone market. I'd buy it.
- piwy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12@chronot150:
obviously you don't understand the meaning of sarcasm - esoteric0, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16wow. just.... wow.
- jonnyd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12@blackmariah
A good portion of the market DOES just want a simple phone.
On the other hand, people like us would love to load ours up with all the crap we possibly can. - Nesh, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Caps lock is cruise control for AWESOME!
- mattp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10If you look at the MacRumors summary, apparently Kevin mentions that the phone will be available on all carriers... does this mean its unlocked (and sold by Apple directly, in which case the price would not be discounted by any carriers) or just that they will be partnering with all the carriers?
- imdwalrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10The phone could be multi-spectrum. Isn't that more or less standard in Europe?
- Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Wow, nice post. That was a direct copy of a review of the N91 from infoSync World.
http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/5944.html
It just happens to be the first non - www.nokia.com result that pops up in google when you search for "nokia n91." Nice one. - hanapbuhay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8...because most cell phone manufacturers forget about intuitive user interfaces. If Apple does this right, they'll force the competition to think more about their UI rather than focusing primarily on thin and slim.
- astrosmash, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Blocked!
- ramadan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The specs don't add up. A touchscreen cellphone with 4GB of flash memory, sliding keyboard and two batteries for $249? This is what, one-third of the prices of Pocket PCs and comparable Nokia multimedia phones? Nah, don't think so. Unless this $249 comes with one or two years of paid subscription.
- quiksliver, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9damnit waiting till Tuesday = teh suck
- rogersmj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Are you kidding me? Think about it for half a second. There's two major versions of lots of phones, like the Razr for example. There's a GSM version for Cingular and T-Mobile etc, and a CDMA version for Verizon and Sprint. It will probably not be one version, but two different versions. Personally, I expect the GSM version to come first and the CDMA one later.
- Quix, on 10/12/2007, -23/+26These two guys would be perfect for new "I'm a Mac" "I'm a PC" ads. The guy with the Mac (Kevin) = interesting and cool. The guy with the PC (Alex) = vapid and annoying.
- zmenchini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3if this site is uncensored then where's all the porn?
- themicah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4There's a discussion of the cross-carrier possibilities of the iPhone on this episode of TWiM's podcast: http://www.twit.tv/twim30
Most any "carrier specific" phone in the world can be unblocked with a little firmware flash and some other tweaks... don't they do this in the States? - mattp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I feel your pain, but honestly, it would have been a miracle if Apple had pulled off something like that. 30Gigs? Not for that price, almost certainly not in a "small" size. Yes, they could come out with a bigger, bulkier phone, but what's the point? If they used 30Gigs of flash memory, perhaps they could maintain size, but even then the price would be unrealistic except for the *really* high end market.
- JackMiracle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I'll wait for the iPhone. It's made by Apple, it's got to be good. Heck if it isn't stylish or easy to operate, I doubt it will come out.
The rumours will fly, but let's give it some time.
Personally, I worked for Virgin Mobile in Canada and Australia, and the phones that are on CDMA suck compared to GSM, hopefully the iPhone can bridge that gap and be an amazing phone on both bands. - AtHomeBoy2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This iPhone needs a few key features for me to be interested in replacing my current cell (and PDA too)..
1) iCal integration with PDA like abilities
2) Address Book integration (the ability to carry phone numbers AND addresses with me)
3) iPhoto integration (no camera phone, those are so lame)
4) ability to connec with Verizon. I love verzion, I'm not switching to another carrier just to get an iPhone.
5?) This is just a nice little addon - Plug-ins. Such as... a program that gets up-to-date sports scores.
This all needs to be included in the 4GB version. Maybe add GPS or somethign liek that for the 8GB version.
Basically.... it needs to be a Palm Treo Appleized. - shil01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@digger twit
I think you meant to say
Ok, here's the deal:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3463346182677886862&hl=en - fitzfan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3If you've been around digg for more than a year you would remember Kevin's source telling him about the nano and other things before it was announced if it is the same source than yes he is getting it from an apple insider.
- TheBlackLeopard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"when has apple ever failed?"
Apple III and Lisa were two spectacular Apple failures. - pentomino, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This reminds me of when Warren Robinett put his name in that hidden room in Adventure, against Atari's policy. He told literally nobody he put it there. Why? Because if he told even one person, then that person would have told just one person, and so on, and so on, and the cartridge might have been recalled. He not only waited until the cartridge was shipped, or until he left Atari, but until the day it was discovered by a player.
Information wants to be free. That's why you follow the NDA's you sign. If Kevin Rose gets sued, this is on someone's conscience.
What's more, it was just painful to watch Kevin hem and haw for five minutes. They already wasted enough time talking about the whole Denmark/Danish/Danes thing. - Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I bet it has Bluetooth as well, so it must be a rip-off of every other phone that has that feature. And having built in flash memory! Blasphemy! That is a direct rip-off of about 900 phones! Clearly, the Nokia N91 is the pinnacle of mobile phone technology, and any other phones that try and "copy" some of the same standardized features included in it are rip-offs and rubbish.
- SDE06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sounds like HTC builds
- jay42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1^^ Heh, its funny how people talk about it like they know for sure. The only one here who actually knows is Kevin.
- captainchris, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@hanapbuhay
definetly. the main focus of mobile phone manufacturers is how slim it is. everytime i pick up and use an L7 or RAZR i cringe because the UI is pretty horrible. - Vision77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I guess I will have to wait for Mr. Jobs to show and prove.
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yeah, "that kevin guy" is obviously trying to drive traffic to his obscure blog (digg.com) launching baseless rumors. I knew those diggnation guys had something to do with digg.com...
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, having used quite a few nokia phones, I can only hope for Apple to show them how to make decent GUIs. You might get used to the way of typing some characters but the whole Nokai UI is so awfully not-thought-about that it makes me sick. It's like they quadrupled the resolution but still have the same navigation they had on a 96x96 screen.
